Chapter 105: Chapter 97: The Consequences of Greed?
Material is the releaser of color, and depending on the wavelength of light reflected or emitted by the material, the represented colors vary.
The richness of color presented differs based on the receiver’s "translation" level of light.
Humans possess three types of receptors and can only perceive light of three colors. The colors they see are a mixture of these three colors at different shades of gray, amounting to millions. If there were four receptors, then one could see a hundred million colors.
With each additional receptor, the richness of perceived colors increases exponentially.
Compared to animals in nature that commonly have four-color vision and those with five-color perception, not to mention the mantis shrimp’s exaggerated sixteen-color receptors,
mammals are somewhat less colorful, basically possessing dichromatic or trichromatic vision.
Humans are already among the best, able to experience much of nature’s splendor.
For Chen Yun, one of the greatest changes he felt after this "Evolution" was that his "Perception Ability" for light, or electromagnetic waves, had become much stronger.
His perceptual range of the electromagnetic spectrum surpassed that of human visible light, filling his mind with chaotic information from electromagnetic waves while also revealing a more magnificent and stunning new world.
Under the influence of his "spiritual power,"
the world suddenly became much richer.
The night sky was no longer purely black, but a kind of dazzling black. This feeling is hard to describe, something ordinary humans cannot even imagine.
Starlight was no longer white, but tinged with a faint blue, and within the afterglow, there were subtle hints of purple.
Moonlight appeared bluer, as if it was no longer the silvery white it used to be, and like the stars, it faintly harbored shades of purple.
He even saw the sea transition from light blue-green to deep blue, and noticed adornments of purple, deep blue, and yellow-green; these were very subtle color changes brought about by water composition, light angle, and biological activity.
Everything seemed more complex, possessing an almost outrageous sense of layering.
Everything that was considered a pure color in human perception was revealed in extraordinary detail and appeared especially colorful under his perception.
Clearly, this distinct splendor is the reality of the world.
Just like a crow’s black, which is actually an array of colors hidden beneath the darkness that humans cannot appreciate.
The reality of the world is also something that humans, a relatively small species, cannot fully probe.
But now, Chen Yun had glimpsed it!
Or rather, this was still not the entire truth of the world.
Even though the visual richness he experienced was thousands or even tens of thousands of times more than before, Chen Yun understood that this was still far from the true entirety of the world.
While the world had become much more splendid, it was still just a peek at one corner. Currently, he probably only had one or two more color perception abilities than a normal person.
And then there are more colors and a wider range of electromagnetic wave spectra.
Because he simply couldn’t withstand the vast amount of information, most of it had already been instinctively blocked. It seems that only more color perception abilities were retained, along with some sensitivity to radio waves.
But even the remaining abilities were still remarkably captivating.
Feeling this magnificent new perspective,
Chen Yun, curled up on the ground, felt that the mental pressure from the unknown electromagnetic waves filling his mind had also lightened considerably.
Of course, the actual effect of the beautiful scenery was limited.
It just allowed him a small distraction to ease his mind.
Those unknown electromagnetic waves in his mind continued to tremble rhythmically.
Wave after wave, incessant like the tides.
From the regular frequencies of these waves, one could guess that they were radio waves carrying information.
Even at the isolated seashore where Chen Yun was, human radio waves still swept over the area without restraint.
There are virtually no places left in this world untouched by human radio waves.
Furthermore, even if human radio waves were absent, electromagnetic waves of similar frequencies would still be transmitted in nature.
When instinct blocked out most of the electromagnetic spectrum, it didn’t specifically retain Chen Yun’s perception of the communication frequency band of radio waves. Instead, it limited the frequency range of electromagnetic waves Chen Yun could sense to below a certain hertz.
Radio waves with a wavelength longer than 1m and frequencies less than 300MHz seemed to account for part of this frequency range.
Therefore,
Chen Yun could now perceive a portion of the radio waves produced by humans and the presence of electromagnetic waves generated naturally.
Such a feeling was very peculiar.
It did not excite Chen Yun as much as perceiving more colors did; instead, it brought him a certain level of stress.
A large number of chaotic electromagnetic waves, some with information and some without, continuously passed through Chen Yun’s mind.
Regardless of whether they carried information or not, in Chen Yun’s eyes, they were all meaningless junk, ceaselessly pressuring and burdening his spirit.
Even if he were to learn signal modulation and demodulation now to understand the information carried by these passing waves, it would not change the fact that they kept pouring into his mind unabated.
