Because of the way the situation unfolded earlier, Minho hadn’t had the chance to take the initiative. Earlier, he wanted to raise his hand to try out for the main rapper role, but Rayen had beaten him to it. Then, in a blink of an eye, three of his teammates already had their parts.

That left him quite disappointed. And Ms. Pia was even watching them.

Sigh.

So when Vance finally asked for the rap parts, Minho immediately raised his hand accompanied by a flick of his forehead bangs.

"I want to try," Minho said elegantly.

’Is it just me or is Minho’s looking good today?’ Rayen thought.

Vance nodded, still disappointed that Xu Jiji hadn’t even raised his hands until now.

"This song has two main rap parts," Vance explained. "Which part do you want to try?"

"The first one," Minho responded.

After choosing, Minho immediately started rapping the first verse, his flow impeccable. Rayen’s eyes widened slightly upon hearing him.

Minho’s rapping seemed to have improved. His tongue moved in a precise manner, delivering each words sharply. Rayen already knew that Minho had a shrilly voice, but he used that perfectly to his advantage, seamlessly changing from being gritty to smooth.

Was it a raise to his skill stats or did he buy an enhancer using the memorial coins they split among themselves yesterday?

Either way, Minho did really good this time.

"Anyone else wanted to try?" Vance asked, as usual.

As everyone already had their own parts, especially Rayen and Nana, they didn’t raise their hands.

Their parts were plenty enough already. Taking more would probably upset the others. Even though they wanted to stand out, they didn’t want to selfishly just grab every parts, leaving the others with only one line or none at all.

After all, everyone here was trying to survive. Any more, and it would create a conflict within the group, causing disharmony.

As for Mr. Big News, despite being unsatisfied with only a single part assigned to him, he didn’t raise his hand right away, wanting Xu Jiji to choose first.

Feeling all the gazes on him, Xu Jiji finally nodded.

"Yes, I want to try it too." He sneaked a peek toward Minho who was only looking straight ahead.

Xu Jiji wanted the first main rapper part too because it was longer compared to the second one. The second main rapper had many lines scattered around the song, but every lines were so short and mostly unintelligible words.

Who would want to sing mostly one line and "papapapa"?

"Then, go on," Vance said.

Nodding, Xu Jiji lifted his own lyrics sheet and started to rap the same verse that Minho did. However, with every words that left his mouth, Vance face fell.

"Stop."

Xu Jiji immediately stopped at looked at him, puzzled.

"Just from the first line alone, I can hear you can’t pull it off," Vance said.

Xu Jiji froze.

Xu Jiji’s voice as a rapper was really too weak to be considered as rapping. There was no flair and style. His voice even cracked a little bit as though he was having a hard time to control his voice.

Vance couldn’t stop himself from clicking his tongue now. "I told you, it was a mistake to change your gender. Why did you even do that? Now, you can’t even control your voice."

Rayen blinked in surprise.

So, the reason why he was struggling was because of his gender change?

Right... When Rayen was a teenager too, he had a hard time adjusting with his changing voice, so it often cracked. He even worried back then that his voice might get ruined.

With Xu Jiji’s transformation, he was experiencing a harder time than Rayen because he was transitioning from a girl’s voice to a male’s voice.

’Puberty really sucks.’

Rayen chuckled inwardly.

"If no one else want it, this flair guy will get the first main rap part," Vance declared the looked at everyone.

When Xu Jiji stepped back in disappointment, Mr. Big News finally raised his hand. Seeing that another one wanted to contend for the part, Minho finally flinched in anxiety.

However, Mr. Big News wasn’t aiming for it. "I don’t want that part. Can I try for another vocal part instead?"

"What part?"

"This..." Mr. Big News pointed and said the lines. "Even with cupid’s arrow aimed at me, your eyes are the only thing I could see."

Vance looked down at his lyric sheet and exclaimed, "Oh?"

He had already scribbled Rayen’s name beside that line. It was one of the leading vocal parts.

"Okay," Vance said, giving Mr. Big News a chance.

With his husky voice, Mr. Big News sang the whole line as Vance listened with his ears perked up. After Mr. Big News finished, he repeatedly tapped the point of his pen on Rayen’s name as if contemplating something.

Then, he crossed out Rayen’s name.

"It’s yours."

Rayen didn’t know it was one of his lines, so he didn’t react.

Staring at the lyrics hard one last time, Vance said, "I’ll assign the other vocal lines accordingly. We just need to find someone for the other main rapper part."

Being the only one without a part yet, Xu Jiji had no choice but to try it even though he didn’t want the part. Having something was better than not having one because he didn’t want it.

Vance shot a glance at Rayen. "Lead him."

Understanding his meaning, Rayen sang the part where both the vocals and raps had to exchange lines with each other. With purse lips, Xu Jiji waited for the right timing of his first line.

Rayen started off and Xu Jiji followed. With the lines becoming shorter, Xu Jiji’s problem of controlling his voice was no longer apparent.

Vance finally nodded, but still wasn’t satisfied.

"Okay. Try again and mix more emotions to it..." Vance paused as though to think of the right words to describe what he wanted. "Think of it as if you’re having fun teasing someone."

Xu Jiji nodded and asked Rayen to lead again.

’Teasing, teasing... Having fun...’

Repeating the words in his head, Xu Jiji imagined his previous life, especially the times he always made fun of his brother. How did he talk to him back then?

As Rayen sang again, he waited for Xu Jiji to rap his own lines.The moment he heard Xu Jiji, he couldn’t help his goosebumps from rising.

’What’s this? His aura changed!’

While recalling his memories, Xu Jiji’s facial expressions even changed according to the meaning of the lines. He looked at Rayen as if he was teasingly trying to smack him.

"Papapapa!

Oh? What am I seeing?

It’s the beautiful you!"

"Good, that’s enough," Vance said.

Xu Jiji’s facial expression immediately turned back to normal.

Rayen rubbed his arms to ease his goosebumps. The others also did the same. It was just Xu Jiji’s third try, but he already rapped as if he owned the lines.

No wonder he was the former 1st rank...

Mr. Big News flashed Xu Jiji a gentle smile and mouthed a good job. Receiving his compliment, Xu Jiji sheepishly hid behind his lyrics sheet.

’How envious...’ Rayen thought.

Unlike him, this little kid in their team could freely control his expressions. Rayen finally understood why Xu Jiii’s presence onstage was too great. It seemed like it wasn’t just his dancing skill that was high.

If facial expressions was under the Visual aspect, then... just how high was Xu Jiji’s Visual stat?

While he watched the two looking like a father and son duo, Rayen recalled Yeo Haru and laughed inwardly.

’That guy might regret putting Xu Jiji in this unit.’
