Idol Revive: If I Don't Debut, I'll Disappear
Chapter 182: Peaceful Break

Chapter 182: Peaceful Break

Rayen stepped into the cafeteria again as he heard his stomach beg for food. Although he didn’t want to head over here after what happened yesterday, this damn stomach just wouldn’t stop complaining.

He had no choice, and now he’s here.

The cafeteria was even more deserted now that the remaining participants in the show were just 16 in total. As it was still early in the morning, only a handful of them decided to get breakfast.

Rayen spotted Zbigniew among them. He was walking over to the buffet area and picked up a tray when he came across this big guy. The two greeted each other and decided to eat on one table.

"It’s a bit silent here now, right?" Zbigniew said, breaking the awkward silence between them.

Rayen nodded but didn’t reply in words.

Receiving no verbal response, Zbigniew glanced at him, his eyes lingering on the food on Rayen’s tray.

"You’re eating less today?" Zbigniew changed the topic.

"Oh." Rayen looked down and stared at his own food. "I just don’t feel like eating."

Zbigniew felt this was quite unusual as he knew how big Rayen’s appetite was.

’It must be because of that.’

Zbigniew’s eyes peeked at the corner in the cafeteria before silently resuming on eating his meal.

Rayen really had no appetite at all. He was just here to satiate the overwhelming hunger. When he finished the food on his tray, he silently stood.

"You’re going now?" Zbigniew asked.

Rayen nodded in response before heading towards the dirty dishes area. As he placed down his tray, he noticed the displayed granola bar near him. He grabbed one of them and stared at it as he was reminded of Yeo Haru’s face.

’Should I buy one for Yeo Haru to cheer him up?’

Without further ado, he scanned the QR code at the side and paid for ten. He’s feeling quite generous today.

But just as he was about to walk away, he recalled something.

’Doesn’t he owe me ten of these?’

Yeo Haru still hadn’t paid Rayen for the music sheet he owed him. Those were ten granola bars and two revitalizing drinks!

’Nevermind. That kid needs to cheer up.’

Despite coming to a decision, Rayen decided to give Yeo Haru only three of the granola bars he bought and keep the rest for himself.

But where should he find Yeo Haru?

Rayen stopped in his tracks for a moment to think. As he continued to stare in a daze in front of the cafeteria, someone familiar bumped into him.

The small figure that bumped into Rayen looked up in annoyance as he almost tumbled down the floor.

Surprised, Rayen also looked down. His eyes met Xu Jiji’s round eyes. Iris was beside Xu Jiji, watching the two in silence.

"Brother, what are you doing there?!" Seemingly annoyed, Xu Jiji asked as he caressed his nose.

"Sorry. Did it hurt?"

"Of course. You shouldn’t be standing in the way!" Xu Jiji complained.

But Iris reprimanded him in Rayen’s stead. "You shouldn’t be walking with your eyes closed."

Xu Jiji’s lips pouted in annoyance.

’It seems like this kid is also in a bad mood. He’s quite rude today.’

"What happened to you?" Rayen asked.

Xu Jiji was stunned for a moment as he realized his wrongs. Then, he scratched the back of his head like a shy kid.

"Sorry, brother. I just woke up..."

’Oh... So that’s it.’

Since Rayen decided to be a good person today, he let it go.

"Have you seen Yeo Haru?" Rayen asked

"Huh? No. Why are you looking for him?"

"I have to collect what he owes me."

"I haven’t seen him. But isn’t it our break? He mentioned before that he frequents the arcade during breaks. You might find him there."

’Oh, right.’

With that, Rayen determined where he should go next. But before he left, he tossed Xu Jiji one of the granola bars he bought to ease his sullen mood.

"Thank you."

Rayen didn’t even hear Xu Jiji’s response as he hurriedly entered the elevator and pressed the second floor button. When the elevator arrived at the designated floor, Rayen went ahead to the arcade.

There, he really saw Yeo Haru playing by himself in the empty arcade. He was so into the game that he didn’t even notice Rayen’s arrival.

Rayen stood behind him, watching him control his character. However, not even a minute later, the zombies overwhelmed Yeo Haru.

Yeo Haru cursed in frustration. Just then, he noticed a silhouette coming from behind him. Glancing back, he saw Rayen standing there.

"Brother."

Three granola bars came flying toward Yeo Haru. When he caught it, he looked at Rayen with a puzzled expression.

"What’s this for?"

"Happy pills," Rayen answered.

Yeo Haru’s gaze shifted from Rayen’s face toward the granola bars, his lips turning into a thin line.

Finally, he opened his mouth and muttered in a low voice, "Thanks."

Rayen walked toward one of the booths and played by himself. Watching Yeo Haru’s terrible skills earlier made him itch for a round too.

Yeo Haru gave up his seat to watch Rayen thrash around and rampage on the battlefield. No zombies ecaped his hawk-like eyes.

"Ah! There! There!" Yeo Haru pointed at one of the zombies as he munched onto a granola bar.

"Shut your mouth. Your crumbs are flying into the controller."

Yeo Haru indeed shut his mouth.

Finaly, it was silent.

Although their break was only one day short despite the final round still five weeks away, the day still seemed so long when he had nothing to do.

Still...

Five weeks to prepare for two performances?

’I’m going to die with pressure!’

Even though Rayen and the others seemed chill, only playing games and such to pass the time, in truth, besides mourning for their lost friends, the pressure of the impending finals was still too heavy to bear.

The only way to release it was by thrashing these zombies around!

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The sound of gunshots echoed throughout the arcade room.

After the lengthy gaming session, Rayen’s stomach rumbled, screaming from hunger. He stood up from the booth and noticed that Yeo Haru was no longer around.

Just then, he noticed the time on the clock.

[6:30 PM]

Rayen stood frozen in shock.

’I played that long?’

He started after breakfast, and now, it was evening. That’s over ten hours already.

No wonder he was so hungry and Yeo Haru was nowhere to be found. Rayen must have been so immersed in playing so the shitty gamer felt bored and ran around after he found something else interesting.

Rayen also confirmed this when he checked his carefully wrapped phone to see a message from Yeo Haru.

[Yeo Haru: I tried calling out to you, but you were ignoring me, so I just went ahead and left.]

Scratching the back of his head in embarrassment, Rayen rewrapped his phone. Since there was no one to cheer up here, he just left the arcade.

As Rayen neared the central aisle of the leisure floor, he noticed some figures up ahead. Upon seeing the familiar lively atmosphere of the gathered participants, Rayen halted in his steps.

Not far away from Rayen, Adrian spotted him and waved.

"You’re here?"

Rayen resumed walking and approached the guy.

’Didn’t this also happen before?’

Feeling the deja vu, he seemingly saw Binh and the others among the crowd, but when he blinked his eyes, the three were gone.

Sigh.

’Yeah, right. It’s just similar.’

"Here for the seventh episode?" Rayen asked Adrian.

"Hmm. I feel bored watching alone."

They also have a television at the dorm, but watching alone was truly pitiful. And besides, the TV doesn’t allow them to read the comments. Watching the UCube Broadcast also counted as monitoring the audience’s thoughts about them.

But Rayen couldn’t help but voice his own thoughts. "You actually wanted to watch this?"

It was the first elimination segment!

Though it seemed like not only Adrian had that idea. Most of the remaining participants were present in the hall, waiting for the show to start.

Adrian shrugged. "Don’t you at least want to see them a few more times?"

Hearing those words, Rayen sat down.
