I Was Kidnapped By The Strongest Guild -
Chapter 441: Two Radical Factions
Even with the radical beast-kin's attention on her, Levinas didn't back down.
As if trying to prove she was more radical, she threw punches with all her might.
"Punch punch!"
Levinas walked back and forth throwing punches.
She looked like a sumo wrestler advancing with outstretched palms.
Punch punch.
After throwing punches, Levinas took a stance and attempted a front kick.
Her foot shot up like kicking a ball, reaching all the way to chest height.
"Wow."
Levinas was really good at kicking. While watching her raised leg, I observed the radical beast-kin's reactions.
They just watched Levinas with unreadable expressions.
'Still, Levinas...'
Just as I turned to look at Levinas, there was a thud.
She had lost her balance while kicking and fallen sideways.
It happened too quickly for anyone to catch her.
"Levinas..."
Before anyone could express concern, Levinas jumped up with raised eyebrows.
For our Levinas, falling once wasn't even worth being embarrassed about.
"We all need courage to fight together...!"
Gaeul was the first to respond to her quiet voice that only we could hear.
She stretched her arms toward the radical beast-kin and swayed them up and down.
"Wooo~ Gaeul ghost~"
Trying to scare them by pretending to be a ghost.
It was the same technique Levinas had used against that boy recently.
Though it was an adorably intimidating technique, it hadn't worked then and didn't work now.
Still, our children didn't stop trying to look fierce.
"Ah, where's my adventurer badge? The one they only give to the best adventurers."
Saebyeok muttered loudly enough for them to hear while pinning the sun badge to her chest.
She seemed to be showing off her strength as an adventurer.
The only problem was that Saebyeok's badge was for novice adventurers.
Of course, that didn't matter to our children.
"Ah!"
Seeing the badge, Levinas took out her carrot badge and pinned it to her chest.
Watching Levinas puff out her chest with an "ahem," Gaeul's eyes grew round.
"Shuin! Gaeul none...!"
"Me too..."
Gaeul's shoulders drooped sadly, never having received a badge.
Come to think of it, Gaeul hadn't been there when Master gave out the badges.
Naturally, Bom didn't have one either.
"Hmm... for Gaeul and Bom's badges..."
"I have them."
Saebyeok pulled two badges from her bag pocket.
They were badges for attending guild-sponsored classes.
"Uwah...!"
Gaeul held the tomato badge against her chest.
Not using the pin, she just placed it there, and the badge fell with a plop.
"Shuin?"
"Yeah, I'll help."
After I pinned the tomato badge to Gaeul's chest, she puffed it out with an "ahem."
Bom's expression also improved, perhaps feeling a sense of belonging.
And the radical beast-kin watching all this...
Bowed their heads to us and walked past.
I'd been a bit scared honestly, so I was relieved they passed without incident.
**
Greeting the radical beast-kin was a task for those in high positions at the guild.
So the children and I went to the park to share our tales of bravery.
"See that, kind snake? The bad beast-kin were so intimidated they couldn't move!"
"Yeah. Even though they were adults, they couldn't say anything to us."
Hehe.
Next to the delighted Bom, Gaeul threw a punch.
"Yah! Yah!"
She thrust her fist with a shout, then flashed a bright smile.
Gaeul seemed proud of her brave display too.
"Amazing. I've never seen adults so intimidated before."
"Yeah! With King we can beat all the bad beast-kin! There were bad beast-kin before too, but King defeated them all!"
Pride shone on Levinas's face.
Though I hadn't done it alone, I decided to stay quiet.
Having gained confidence, we spent time playing around the park.
Even while playing, I wondered what conversation the radical beast-kin were having with Master.
Though curious, even I couldn't interrupt an important meeting in Master's office.
So we couldn't shake our curiosity while playing.
"Shuin, slide!"
"Yeah, let's go down the slide together."
As I was going down the pool playground slide with Gaeul, I spotted two beast-kin groups leaving the building entrance in the distance.
It was Encia and Argo, along with the two radical beast-kin.
Though opposing factions had gathered, there didn't seem to be any tension.
Had things gone well?
Curious, I decided to approach them.
"Kids, I'm going over there for a bit."
"To bad beast-kin...?!"
"Yeah. Just want to talk with them briefly."
I watched Bom's reaction as I spoke.
Since she was scared of adult beast-kin, I needed to be careful.
"Gyeoul, aren't you scared...?"
"Not when I'm with everyone. I'd probably be scared alone too."
"Alone... then I'll make sure you're not alone."
Bom clung to my back, grabbing my waist with both hands.
Thinking this was some kind of game, Gaeul attached herself to Bom.
Levinas latched onto Gaeul, and Saebyeok onto Levinas.
We approached the radical beast-kin in this long chain.
Choo choo-
Levinas made train noises as we walked.
"Encia."
"Welcome."
"Yes. Encia, could you tell me what was discussed upstairs?"
"Well..."
Encia looked around.
She seemed concerned about others overhearing.
We probably needed to move somewhere more private.
**
The container house in a corner of the park.
This place was considered my private territory.
After moving somewhere without people, I heard shocking news from Encia.
"Is that really true...?"
"Yes. Apparently there were quite a few dissatisfied individuals."
She explained that beast-kin were divided into moderate and radical factions, and the radical faction was further split into two groups.
One group had rebelled against the existing radicals, saying things had gone too far.
Well.
Even for naturally strong beast-kin, the radicals' actions had crossed a line.
Being such a closed group, it took time to notice, but it was natural for dissent to emerge.
"So these people aren't the bad radicals?"
"Radical... that's what outsiders call us."
The radical beast-kin spoke up at my question.
His tall curved horns resembled those of a Minotaurus.
The large muscular man with bronze skin was surprisingly polite, contrary to my expectations.
"Oh... is there another name...?"
"There is, but we just use 'radical' now."
"I-I see..."
"Yes. Ah, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Mino."
Someone with Minotaurus horns being named Mino.
Was he really that type of beast-kin?
After learning Mino's name, he explained more about the radical beast-kin.
"We currently have about 1,200 members."
"T-twelve hundred...?"
Didn't our side have only about 300 total?
My ears perked up in surprise at the unexpectedly large number.
"Yes. It's quite a lot, but most are lower class. The radical faction has a strict class system. Many live under exploitation."
"Ah... so that's why resistance formed."
"Yes. Though our numbers aren't very large. Most are powerless individuals."
Mino's expression turned bitter.
Watching him, Levinas made a fierce face.
"Doesn't strength come from the heart?"
Thump thump-
Levinas beat her chest.
Seeing this, Mino nodded.
His large horns were noticeable as they moved with his head.
"Yes, that's right. That's why we secretly allied with humans."
"Ah..."
I see.
I'd thought Epics must be bad when I heard they'd allied with radical beast-kin.
But contrary to my expectations, they weren't a bad guild.
"Um, but wouldn't it have been better to ally with us...?"
"We wanted to, but they have eyes here too. And Yeomyeong is their top surveillance target..."
"Ah."
That made sense.
Since we had bad relations with the radical beast-kin.
I was nodding when my eyes suddenly went wide.
"Then isn't it dangerous for you to come here...?"
"It's fine. Today I'm here sent by the radicals. They don't know I'm with the resistance."
"Then what about Epics...?"
"Epics was our way of announcing we're also visiting as the resistance."
"Ah."
No wonder the letter had been so polite.
That explained it.
Politics were complicated.
"But I understand about Epics - why did the radicals want to meet with Yeomyeong?"
"To meet you, Gyeoul."
"Me?"
"Yes. The radical nobles want to meet with you."
"Um..."
Why me all of a sudden?
My mouth fell open at the unexpected statement.
