After leaving Sunny with Eiva One, I walked through the park with the children.

Just as we were discussing what to do today, Levinas called us over with quite a serious expression.

"Everyone gather around...!"

Levinas looked around before gathering us together.

Her face was completely tense, as if she had something serious to say.

Someone stronger than our Master.

Though it was hard to believe, we decided to look for them.

"But how and where do we find this person? Do you know what they look like?"

"No...! But if they're the strongest person in the world, we'll know when we see them...?!"

Since they're supposedly the strongest in the world.

We should be able to tell they're extraordinary at first sight.

Should we look somewhere with lots of people?

As I pondered seriously, Gaeul patted my back.

"Master!"

"Up!"

Gaeul pointed at the guild's top floor.

She seemed to be suggesting we look from a high place.

"Looking from up high is good, but somewhere other than the guild would be better."

We hadn't found them despite always being around the guild.

The other children seemed to understand this, as they didn't question it.

There was one tower a bit far away that was about the same height as our guild.

A tower tall enough to see far across the neighborhood.

Most floors were freely accessible shops, so we could go up to a high floor and look down.

According to the sign at the entrance, it was once the tallest building in South Korea.

"It's as tall as our home!"

"Our home's probably a bit taller?"

"Wow! Really?!"

As we were lingering near the tower looking up at the highest floor,

Jung Yu-na's voice came from behind us.

"What are you kids doing here?"

My tail wagged at the familiar voice without even turning around.

Finding this amusing, Jung Yu-na smiled.

"We're going to go up there."

"Ah, an adventure?"

Jung Yu-na looked up at the tower with us.

It did seem like it would be fun to explore floor by floor.

"Not really an adventure, we're looking for someone. We want to look down from up there."

"Someone...? Mind if I join you?"

Jung Yu-na coming along.

There was no reason to refuse.

We entered the building with our new party member Jung Yu-na.

'Hmm...'

But which floor should we go to for looking down?

Looking around, I tapped the wrist of a woman who looked like an employee.

"Excuse me..."

"Oh, yes?"

The employee looked startled when she saw me.

She probably wasn't used to beast-kin.

"We want to look far from up high. Which floor would be best?"

"Ah, for that..."

The employee gave us directions where to go.

I bowed my head in thanks, then we took the elevator to the suggested floor.

"So who are you looking for?"

Jung Yu-na asked in the elevator.

Levinas answered instead of me.

"We're looking for the strongest person in the world!"

"The strongest person? Isn't that our Master?"

"No! She said there's someone much stronger than uncle Master."

"Hmm... someone stronger than our Master..."

Jung Yu-na glanced at me.

It felt more like she was examining me up and down than just looking.

Just as I was about to ask why she was doing that, the elevator doors opened.

"Oh."

"Master...!"

When we left the elevator and headed toward the observation deck, we could only freeze in place.

It was an observation deck floor with binoculars for looking far into the distance.

The problem was that the floor was made of transparent glass.

Terrified, Levinas, Gaeul and I couldn't step onto the glass floor.

The structure meant falling hundreds of meters if the glass broke.

It was natural that anyone without nerves of steel couldn't step on it.

"Hmm... this might be too scary for our kids."

"Y-yes..."

If it were just tens of meters, I might have managed somehow.

But hundreds of meters was impossibly high.

Levinas and Gaeul were so scared they clung tightly to my side.

"Th-this is too hard for kids..."

Jung Yu-na approached us and bent down slightly.

When our eyes met, I unconsciously grabbed her red hair tightly.

"Want me to cast levitation magic? Even if the glass breaks, you'll float and won't fall."

"Or I could hold you while the levitation magic is active?"

Jung Yu-na demonstrated by picking me up.

Thankfully, she didn't step onto the glass yet.

With levitation magic and in Jung Yu-na's arms, maybe it would be okay.

After thinking it over, I nodded very slowly.

"K-King, will you be okay...? It's completely open below..."

"Master...!"

The children looked at me with worried eyes.

I raised my eyebrows at them.

"I'm scared, but I'll try going once."

"Yeah! Fighting!"

"Fight!"

With the children's encouragement, Jung Yu-na carrying me started walking.

Startled, I buried my face in her arms.

I could tell we'd stepped onto the glass floor from the sound of Jung Yu-na's heels.

Just imagining it made my body tremble.

"Gyeoul, we're here. Want to look outside?"

"......"

"Gyeoul?"

When Jung Yu-na patted my back, I turned my head slightly to the side.

Just enough to peek with one eye.

We were so high up that buses looked like ants.

People looked like dots, but I could still make out their facial features.

"Are you okay, Gyeoul? Should we go back if you're scared?"

I kept glancing down, then burying my face in Jung Yu-na's arms.

Then looking down again, then hiding my face again.

After repeating this several times, the fear started to fade a bit.

After taking a deep breath, I climbed down Jung Yu-na's body.

Thinking about standing on glass floating in the air made my legs tremble.

"Please don't let go of my hand..."

"Okay. I absolutely won't let go."

Jung Yu-na gripped my hand even tighter.

Sighing with relief, I turned to look at Levinas and Gaeul.

"Kids, look at me. I made it up here."

"Amazing! Aren't you scared?!"

"No, I'm scared..."

My ears and tail showed clearly how frightened I was.

They'd been drooping since I stepped onto the glass floor.

I kept glancing at Jung Yu-na.

She was watching me with a soft chuckle.

And then.

Levinas's battle cry rang out.

"Yah!"

Levinas ran toward us with her eyes tightly shut.

Though I knew it was impossible, I worried the glass floor might break from the impact of her running.

"Oh my."

"Levinas."

Saebyeok caught Levinas just before she hit the wall.

After stepping onto the glass, Levinas kept her eyes closed.

"King, Levinas made it up too."

"Yeah. Levinas is amazing."

"But Levinas won't open her eyes. Might cry if she does."

"Yeah. Just getting up here is incredible. Usually only adults come to places like this."

When I praised her for doing well, Levinas puffed out her chest with an "ahem."

Now only Gaeul was left.

We all turned to look at where Gaeul was.

"Float!"

Gaeul was watching us with surprised eyes.

Float?

Did she think we were floating in the air?

Just as I was about to explain about the glass floor,

Gaeul lay down on her stomach.

It was like she was walking on all fours.

Tap tap-

Gaeul tapped the glass floor with her palm.

Her ears perked up when she confirmed there was transparent flooring.

But unfortunately, she couldn't come toward us.

"Gaeul, should we come to you?"

"No."

"No?"

"Yeah."

Gaeul nodded and raised her eyebrows fiercely.

Then she started crawling toward us.

She wasn't crawling on the glass floor though.

The metal frame between glass panels.

Gaeul was only stepping on that.

"Wow."

So there was a way like that.

This way there's no worry even if the glass breaks.

Clap clap clap-

As I clapped for Gaeul, I startled myself and grabbed Jung Yu-na's hand.

I still couldn't stand without holding hands - it was too scary.

Being afraid of heights was clearly a beast-kin instinct.
