I Was Kidnapped By The Strongest Guild -
Chapter 327: Teleportation
Fortunately, the pond was nearby.
As Kwon Arin carried Gaeul, who had her eyes tightly shut, the child made loud noises.
"Eeeeee!"
Her voice was quite loud.
Did her eyes sting that badly?
I ran alongside them, checking on Gaeul's condition.
Though her face was scrunched up, she wasn't actually crying.
'Huh?'
Listening more carefully, it wasn't crying but more like an air raid siren.
It seemed Gaeul was trying to alert everyone that she was in distress."Eeeeee!"
"Almost there. Just hang on a bit longer."
Kwon Arin carried the siren-wailing Gaeul down to the pond.
Splash splash - she washed Gaeul's face, rinsing her eyes and face with water.
The siren sounds stopped, presumably because her eyes no longer stung.
"Gaeul, are you okay?"
"Is Gaeul puppy alright?!"
The children and I checked on Gaeul's condition.
She blinked a few times, then smiled brightly as if nothing had happened.
"Phew."
What a relief it wasn't serious.
As I sighed in relief, Gaeul started dog-paddling around the pond.
Splash splash-
She swam to the center of the pond and pulled out a mackerel.
Then she climbed out of the pond holding the fish to her chest.
"Merry Chris..."
Gaeul held out the flapping mackerel to us.
I accepted it on behalf of the children.
"Thank you. But Gaeul, your whiskers are gone so you're not Santa anymore, right?"
"Huh?"
Gaeul touched her head and chin with round eyes.
She hadn't realized the pond water had washed away the foam.
"How about we say this is a gift from Gaeul instead of Santa?"
"...!"
Gaeul's tail started wagging.
She seemed to think gifts from herself were better than ones from Santa.
Master! Master!
Gaeul hopped around me excitedly.
That's when Kwon Arin climbed out of the pond.
"Is Gaeul okay?"
"Yes, thanks to you."
Kwon Arin ran her fingers through her hair while watching Gaeul bounce around happily.
Water dripped from her wet hair - she looked quite cool.
Her presence was much more impressive than when we first met.
'She's so cool.'
I wagged my tail as I approached Kwon Arin.
In a way, we were like colleagues who joined the guild around the same time.
I felt a special camaraderie with her as fellow adventurers.
And maybe just a tiny bit of competitive spirit too.
"Want to go to a dungeon together?"
"Sure, how about early tomorrow morning? I have to stream in the afternoon."
"Sounds good."
**
The next day.
I went to a dungeon with Kwon Arin.
It was a Level 3 dungeon, but we cleared it without any problems or threats.
It almost felt too easy.
Still, we shouldn't get careless or overconfident.
I patted my cheeks a couple times, then approached Kwon Arin who was organizing the mana stones.
"I always think this, but you're really good with that bow, Gyeoul."
"Yeah. I guess I'm just good at hitting things I shoot at."
We chatted about various things as we headed to the guild's mana stone exchange.
Sophia, Yoo Sang-ah, and Momoa.
My precious people were all working hard.
"I'm back."
I went past the desk toward everyone.
Sophia, Yoo Sang-ah, and Momoa.
After considering the three of them, I sat on Sophia's lap.
"Back from the dungeon?"
"Yes. We went to a Level 3."
"Any dangerous moments?"
"Not at all."
Without realizing it, I puffed out my chest like Levinas.
Seeing my proud expression, Sophia gently pinched my cheek.
"Don't get too careless. Danger in dungeons can strike in an instant."
"I'll remember that."
After accepting Sophia's advice, I got down and went over to Momoa.
From behind her chair, I stroked her golden hair.
"Momoa, your hair is so pretty. It's like dandelions."
"Th-thank you."
Momoa buried her face in a stack of papers.
Her cheeks had turned red, apparently from embarrassment.
"Hmm..."
I shouldn't disturb them while they're working, right?
But I wanted to stay just a little longer.
As I lingered uncertainly nearby, Yoo Sang-ah poked my ear.
"Gyeoul, I heard your sister won't be able to come home today either."
"Oh... really?"
"Yes. Seems she's quite busy running around everywhere."
"Ah..."
She's not coming home today either.
My gently swaying tail drooped instantly.
"But don't worry too much. Encia said she'd come instead."
"Encia?"
Wasn't she supposed to be helping catch bad people?
It might be tough with one person missing.
Though I was concerned, my tail started wagging again at the news of Encia coming.
"When is Encia coming?"
"Probably soon, I'd think."
"...!"
That's good.
For some reason, having many close adults around gave me a strange sense of security.
Having both Sophia and Encia at home would maximize that feeling of psychological safety.
I hoped Encia would arrive soon.
I lingered near the exchange staff, thinking such thoughts.
Not wanting to disturb them, I just sat on laps or gently poked at various body parts.
Even just that much was fun.
**
After selling the mana stones, I returned home.
Encia was already there.
"Welcome back, Gyeoul."
"I'm home."
Encia greeted me right at the entrance.
The children must have heard me arrive too, as they came running out making pattering sounds.
"King's back?!"
"Master!"
We wagged our tails rapidly at each other.
It was almost like we were competing to see who could wag faster.
"Good work today. I shall attend to your every need today."
"E-every need?"
"Yes. Please let me know if you need anything at all."
She was like a service staff member at a luxury hotel.
Not that I'd ever been to one, but I imagined it would be like this.
"Then let's rest together."
"T-together?"
After some hesitation, Encia picked me up and hugged me.
So together meant hugging.
Encia's embrace was so warm it made me yawn.
"Gyeoul, before you sleep, how about a shower..."
"Yes. I'll go wash up."
"Do you need any assistance?"
"No, I can wash myself."
I got down from Encia's arms and took a quick shower.
Then I lay down using Encia's thigh as a pillow on the sofa.
"Hmm..."
What should I do now?
Should I just go to sleep?
As I was considering this, I spotted a smartphone on the sofa.
'I wonder what everyone's doing.'
The Yeomyeong people were famous enough that you could find out what they were doing online.
But when I checked the internet, disappointingly there was no information.
'Must be a secret mission.'
That's too bad.
As I was about to turn off the phone, clicking my tongue, an interesting video caught my eye.
It was about tricking young children and dogs.
'That's funny.'
Our Gaeul would probably fall for tricks like these.
I wonder if Levinas would...?
I got up and went to the bedroom.
I came back out carrying a large blanket and stood in front of everyone.
"Kids, I'll show you some magic."
"Magic?!"
"Magic?!"
The children watching TV turned their attention to me.
Even Saebyeok, who had been curled up sleeping on the floor, opened her eyes slightly to look at me.
"It's teleportation magic."
Standing right in front of the bedroom door, I lifted the blanket high.
I raised it to cover my whole body from head to toe.
"Watch."
One, two, three.
After counting to three, I let go of the blanket I was holding.
Before the blanket could fall, I ran into the bedroom to hide.
Using the special abilities of feline beast-kin, I could move without making any sound.
"Master?!"
"Huh!"
I heard Gaeul and Levinas's surprised voices.
I hid under the bed and watched the children's reactions.
"Master! Master!"
Bang bang-!
Gaeul hit the blanket with her palms.
Levinas was also staring at the blanket with her horned rabbit eyes.
"King! Where did you go?!"
"I'm right here."
I stood up from behind the bed, chuckling.
The children turned around with a start.
"What?! Did you really teleport?!"
"No, actually it was just a trick."
I explained the truth to the curious Levinas.
When I showed her how it was done, Levinas started giggling.
"Levinas was totally fooled!"
It made me happy to see the children enjoying such a simple trick.
As I was putting the blanket back on the bed and sitting on the sofa, Levinas brought it out again.
"Watch! Levinas will do it too!"
Levinas raised the blanket high.
She covered herself well from head to toe, but unfortunately her long rabbit ears stuck out.
"Yah!"
Not noticing her visible ears, Levinas dropped the blanket and ran into the room.
We could hear the pitter-patter of her running feet.
"...!"
Despite the obvious trick, Gaeul's ears and tail stood straight up in surprise.
So Gaeul was the type to fall for these things easily.
I laughed silently to myself.
"King, how was that?! How was it?!"
"That was amazing. I really thought you disappeared."
"Really?!"
Hop hop hop-
As Levinas was bouncing with joy, Gaeul raised her eyebrows high and picked up the blanket.
"Master!"
She covered herself from head to toe like we had done.
Surprisingly, Gaeul managed to cover her ears too.
"Yah!"
Gaeul shouted and threw the blanket down forcefully.
Rather than gently dropping it, she threw it with all her might.
But instead of running to the bedroom, Gaeul stood proudly in place with her eyebrows raised high.
Her dignified pose looked quite cool.
"Huh?"
After standing there for a while, Gaeul tilted her head in confusion.
She seemed puzzled that she hadn't moved anywhere.
