I Was Kidnapped By The Strongest Guild
Chapter 241: I'm Participating Too

I was about to press the elevator button when Levinas burst through the emergency stairwell door.

"Ready, set!" she shouted, leaping down the stairs.

Saebyeok and I stared blankly at the open door.

"Go?"

"I think she wants to race..."

Her actions were so sudden we couldn't react in time.

Should we follow her now?

As Saebyeok and I exchanged glances, we heard pattering sounds from below. The noise grew closer.

Levinas was coming back up.

"Levinas?"

She poked her head out from the stairwell, not wanting to climb all the way up. We could barely make eye contact.

"Want to race down?" I asked.

"Yeah, let's do it. I didn't realize how fast she was before."

"Hehe, horned rabbits are naturally quick!" Levinas giggled, covering her mouth.

Saebyeok and I went down to where Levinas was waiting.

"I'll run when you say 'ready, set' again," I told her.

"Ready, set!"

Levinas shouted without pause and took off running. She was fast, but not impossible to keep up with.

Saebyeok and I raced down the stairs after her. Our footsteps mixed together, creating an amusing pitter-patter sound.

We ran down like that for quite a while until we encountered some people resting in the stairwell about ten floors down. They were familiar faces from around the guild.

Those sitting on the stairs drinking coffee moved aside to let us pass, each offering a word of caution:

"Kids, don't run too fast, okay?"

"Be careful not to fall and hurt yourselves."

It was hard to answer mid-race, so we slowed our pace in response.

"Look how well-behaved they are," we heard someone chuckle.

"Our kids are so good."

I turned to look back and realized Saebyeok was nowhere to be seen. Her footsteps could be heard about three floors up. Given her lower agility, it made sense that she'd fallen behind.

"Levinas, looks like Saebyeok's lagging behind."

"Really? Should we wait for her?"

Despite being in a race, we decided to wait. It wasn't really about winning or losing anyway.

We sat on the stairs for a while, but Saebyeok didn't appear. My ears perked up instinctively. I couldn't hear her footsteps anymore.

"Saebyeok's not up there?"

"She's not? Where'd she go?"

"I don't know... Did we leave her too far behind?"

"Oh no!"

Alarmed, Levinas and I climbed back up the stairs. We reached home, but Saebyeok was nowhere to be seen.

"She's not here either..."

"Is it Levinas' fault?"

Levinas asked, her ears drooping guiltily.

"No, Saebyeok wouldn't get mad over something like this."

"Yeah... the Dark King is kind..."

But where could she have gone?

Levinas and I went back down the emergency stairs. The guild building was quite tall, but our beast-kin stamina wasn't exhausted by the descent.

"She's not here either..."

"Yeah..."

Levinas seemed to feel guilty for leaving Saebyeok behind to win the race.

"Let's keep looking," I suggested.

We opened the first floor emergency stairwell door, and to our surprise, Saebyeok was right there.

"I'm first," she declared, imitating Levinas' signature "ahem" pose.

Levinas' ears shot up in shock. "What? How are you first? I was in the lead!"

"I jumped out the window."

"Huh!"

Levinas' eyes widened to the size of lollipops. Then she started hopping around Saebyeok excitedly.

"Amazing! Like a hero horned rabbit!"

"Yeah. I am the big sister after all," Saebyeok said, puffing out her chest with her usual expressionless face.

I noticed the elevator to the first floor right next to us and realized Saebyeok must have taken it down. I decided to keep that to myself.

"Shall we go now?" I asked.

"Yeah! Let's go!"

We arrived at the mana stone exchange, where our first task was to look for Sophia. However, she was busy working, with a long line of people in front of her. Yoo Sang-ah and Momoa looked swamped too.

"Everyone seems busy. Let's not disturb them and do our thing," I suggested.

"Okay!"

I pulled out the posters from my bag. The mana stone exchange, where adventurers gathered in droves, was the perfect place for promotion.

As I pondered how to go about it, Levinas grabbed one of the posters.

"Look at this!" she exclaimed, showing it to a nearby adventurer.

The adventurer smiled. "Did you draw this yourself?"

"Yep!"

"Wow, it's really well done."

Pleased with the praise, Levinas started hopping up and down. Suddenly, she thrust the poster forward.

"This isn't just a simple drawing! It's about classes we're having!"

"Classes? What kind of classes?"

"Umm..." Levinas examined the back of the poster, then answered brightly, "I don't know!"

---

Oh Se-yeong, a novice wizard, smiled at Levinas and her drawing. It seemed like they were playing school.

"You don't have a teacher?" she asked.

"No! We do have teachers...!" Levinas looked at me as she said this.

Oh Se-yeong scrutinized me as I approached hesitantly.

"Um, you know..." I began.

"Yes? What is it?"

"Well, the teachers are listed on the back."

"The teachers?"

Oh Se-yeong turned the poster over. Her expression turned to shock as she read the list of names.

"Lee Gunwoo?" she muttered. "The Lee Gunwoo I know?"

She blinked in surprise, noticing the title "President of the wizards Association" next to his name.

"What is this?"

Oh Se-yeong didn't recognize all the names, but those she did know were all at the pinnacle of their respective fields.

Kang Jinho of the Yeomyeong Guild.

Chae Juyeon of the Sacred Guild.

Park Taesan of the Taesan Guild.

The chances of it being a lie were slim. It was common knowledge among adventurers that I was beloved by the guild masters.

Oh Se-yeong swallowed hard and studied my expression.

Lee Gunwoo's magic lessons were said to be unobtainable even for billions. And they were offering this for free?

Even learning some small thing would be a significant gain. As a novice wizard, Oh Se-yeong couldn't help but be tempted.

"...Can I attend the wizards Association President's class too?" she asked hesitantly.

"Yes. I really hope you'll come," I replied.

I rummaged through my pocket for a badge I'd received from Master to identify participants. They also had to fill out an application form, but my role was just handing out badges.

After thinking, I gave her a tomato badge. From now on, those hoping to attend magic classes would get tomato badges.

"Take this to the counter and fill out an application form," I instructed.

"O-Okay! Thank you!" Oh Se-yeong tucked the badge deep into her bag, treating it like a priceless treasure.

Seeing this, Levinas puffed out her chest, showing off the carrot badge pinned to it.

"Hmph," she sniffed. "The tomato badge is nice, but carrots are the best."

---

---

The promotion went surprisingly well. So many people took badges that I lost count.

"U-Um, can I attend Dr. Amy's class too?" one person asked.

"Yes, Dr. Amy will be there," I confirmed.

"Muscles! I can build more muscles here?!" another exclaimed.

"Y-Yes..."

Thanks to the instructors' reputations, many people came after hearing rumors. Ten people, twenty people... The adventurers' enthusiasm was overwhelming.

Startled by the growing crowd, I placed a handful of badges on the table and dashed to the park.

"W-Whoa..." My heart was pounding. I guess I'm not good with being surrounded by people.

I crouched in some nearby bushes to calm my racing heart. That's when someone approached me.

"Gyeoul, what are you doing here?" Yeoreum's voice came from right beside me.

I instinctively clung to her legs. "I was just taking a little break."

"It looks to me like you were hiding."

"Y-Yeah. Too many people gathered because of this." I showed her the badges in my bag.

She then took my entire bag. "I'll handle the rest. This is still too difficult for you, right?"

"Mm... it's a little difficult, not too much."

"Is that so?" Yeoreum patted my head, helping to calm my racing heart.

I looked up at her, feeling my tail wag. She seemed to have something she wanted to say.

"...Do you have something to tell me?" I asked.

"Yeah... The competition is coming up soon. Will you participate too?"

"Can I?"

"Yes. But there's a condition."

"A condition..." I hoped it wouldn't be too hard to manage.

"It'll be hard for you to receive prize money since you're on the organizing side. And we'll make the zombie appearance less scary."

"Ah, I see." We could change the appearance of zombies made with illusion magic. It was clear Yeoreum set these conditions out of concern for me.

"If you agree to this, I'll let you participate."

"Okay. That's fine." As long as I could participate, these were perfectly manageable conditions.

I nodded to Yeoreum. The competition would start in two weeks - a short time that would pass quickly.
