I Was Kidnapped By The Strongest Guild
Chapter 238: Why Are There So Many People?

The president accepted the lecture invitation.

Next, I decided to persuade Master.

"Uncle..."

I called out as I returned to the guild and searched for his office.

However, Master was nowhere to be seen. I hadn't left any pheromones, so I decided to try tracking him by scent.

I raised my nose and started moving, following Master's scent to the first floor. It led towards the main entrance. As I ran in that direction, I spotted Master in a suit.

"Excuse me, coming through..." I muttered, squeezing through the crowd surrounding him. Security guards and what looked like high-ranking officials were gathered around Master.

Our eyes met as I approached.

"Make way for the kid," Master said, pointing at me.

The crowd parted like the Red Sea.

"Uncle..." I called out again as I ran towards him.

A nearby middle-aged man flinched. "Un...cle?" he stammered before bursting into laughter. I had no idea why.

"What's up?" Master asked.

"Well, I'm trying to do something that could help the guild."

"I see. Do your best." Master patted my head. His touch was rough yet gentle, and my eyes half-closed at the contact.

"Huh?" I looked up at Master, bewildered. Shouldn't he ask what I'm planning?

The laughing middle-aged man whispered in Master's ear, "You should ask what she's planning to do."

I could hear it clearly.

Following the man's advice, Master belatedly asked, "...What are you planning?"

"Well, the president of the wizards Association agreed to give a magic lecture."

"That uptight fellow...?"

"Huh...?" I tilted my head in confusion. The Association president seemed principled but fairly flexible to me.

"...And?" Master prompted.

"So I was thinking we could let guild visitors attend the lecture."

"Sounds good. I'll do it too."

"You too, Master?"

"Yeah."

Lectures by Master and the wizards Association president would surely have a significant positive impact on the guild's image.

"Give it a try. I'll help as much as I can," Master assured me.

"Thank you."

I decided I should make promotional plans with the kids. After saying goodbye to Master, I ran home.

After Gyeoul left for home, Kang Jinho drove to the meeting venue.

The executives accompanying him were talking about Gyeoul.

"That child is truly admirable," one said.

"Indeed. If only my kid were half as good as Gyeoul..." another added.

"Hmm." Kang Jinho didn't particularly like such blatant flattery, yet he didn't find it unpleasant either. He felt the corners of his mouth lifting slightly as he entered the building where the meeting was to be held.

'A lecture, huh...' he pondered, seated in a chair. He hoped things would go well, considering how hard the child had worked on it.

Just then, Chae Juyeon entered the conference room and sat next to him.

"What are you thinking so deeply about?" she asked.

"The lecture."

Chae Juyeon was the country's top recovery wizard. Kang Jinho stroked his chin as he looked at her. This might turn out to be a good opportunity.

"Lecture? What lecture?"

"The guild is preparing something. We're gathering experts from various fields to give free lectures and talks."

"Oh? What kind of experts have you invited?"

"I'll be doing one, and the wizards Association president will be there too..."

"Oh?" Chae Juyeon's eyes widened. "Isn't that quite a lineup?"

"By the way, Gyeoul is leading this. She says she'll invite every expert she can find."

"Gyeoul is? She hasn't contacted me..."

"Gyeoul doesn't know how skilled you are."

"Huh?" Chae Juyeon paused. "I guess that's true. I've never really shown her my abilities. She might just think of me as an older sister with some influence."

"Anyway, I'm busy with that now."

"W-wait a moment."

"What?"

"I want to give a lecture too. You know how amazing my recovery magic is, right?"

"I do, but... will it be okay?" Kang Jinho asked. A guild master from one guild giving a free lecture at another could potentially cause political issues.

"What's the problem? It's to help our Gyeoul. We're allied guilds too."

"Hmm..." Kang Jinho nodded. He decided to try raising the quality of the lectures a bit more this way.

'Next is...' he thought, considering Park Taesan of the Taesan Guild. Though somewhat ignorant and aggressive, his muscle training abilities were top-notch in the country. He would greatly appeal to a certain type of audience.

'He won't refuse anyway.'

Kang Jinho went around finding capable individuals one by one. However, he didn't directly ask them to give lectures. He merely planted a small seed of pressure.

"The wizards Association president is giving a lecture, you know?"

"Chae Juyeon and Park Taesan are doing it, but you're not?"

He also instilled expectations that lecturing alongside these individuals would earn them the title of top expert.

"A free lecture? You're doing a good thing. I'll participate," one said.

"A-ahem, when it comes to mana stone processing, I..." another stammered.

"Professor Jang is doing it too? Yes, of course I should do it as well."

Some accepted with pure intentions, some for honor, and others for networking opportunities. As the number of lecturers grew, the recruitment speed accelerated. There were even those who approached first, wanting to participate without being contacted, and others who recommended overseas experts.

It was a lineup that would excite learners in each field.

"Hmm." Kang Jinho wondered if this would be helpful enough. He thought of Gyeoul, who would be at home. He'd have to see how far she had prepared.

A few days later, I was watching an animation with the kids. The episode ended showing the horned rabbit hero in danger.

"See you next time!" the TV announced.

"No!" Levinas cried out, perhaps due to the horned rabbit hero's miserable state. She started stomping her feet.

"Levinas, it's the horned rabbit hero. Nothing bad will happen," I reassured her.

"Mmm... Good horned rabbits should believe in the horned rabbit hero," she sniffled and sat down at the table. She opened her sketchbook and started drawing the horned rabbit hero escaping danger.

Saebyeok was curling up on the sofa, trying to sleep. I decided now was a good time to bring up the main topic.

"Levinas, Saebyeok," I called out during this calm moment.

"Yes?" Levinas responded.

"We have something to do."

"What are we doing?" Levinas closed her sketchbook and came over. Saebyeok, who was trying to sleep, turned just her ears towards me while lying down.

"We need to make promotional posters now."

"Posters?"

"Yeah. Remember how the wizards Association president agreed to give a lecture? We're making posters to ask people to come see it."

"Okay...!" Levinas opened her sketchbook again. She pressed her cheeks with her pen, seeming to ponder, then soon started drawing. It was an image of a horned rabbit and a cat pointing at a blackboard, giving a lecture.

"Wow," I said, impressed. This had quite a nice feel to it. I waited beside Levinas for the drawing to be completed.

"King should help too!" she exclaimed.

"Ah, okay." I picked up a pen and drew a fish on the blackboard. I added a carrot next to it. The completed drawing had a pretty good atmosphere.

I decided to go find Master and get his approval. "I'm going to the master's office for a bit. You two play here."

"Okay!" they replied.

I arrived at the top floor. As always, the security guard opened the door for me. Inside, as always, was Master.

"Uncle, this..." I ran towards Master to show him the drawing.

Master nodded with satisfaction after seeing the picture. "Good. Let's use this."

"Yes. I'm planning to write the names of the lecturers on the back here."

"Ah, about that..." Master handed me a sheet of paper. Numerous names were written on the A4-sized paper. There were lots of foreign names too.

"What is this?" I asked.

"The people lecturing this time."

"Huh?" I was confused. Why did it suddenly increase so much? Except for two or three, they were all unfamiliar names.

"There are names, positions, and lecture contents, so look at those and write them down," Master explained.

"Okay..." I started reading the names written on the paper. "Monster ecology doctor? What on earth is this?"

Just then, Levinas' voice came from the emergency stairway next to the elevator.

"King! Big trouble! King!"

Her voice was getting closer, as if she was coming up the stairs.

"Levinas?" I called out.

"King!"

Master and I went outside together. Just then, Levinas appeared, opening the emergency stairway door. Saebyeok was on Levinas' back.

"Keck, keck," Saebyeok made choking sounds with a pained expression. It seemed like something was stuck in her throat.

"S-Saebyeok," I stammered, seeing the color drain from her face. Master and I rushed towards her.

And then, "Bleh." Saebyeok spat out a cotton ball about the size of a baby's fist. She looked quite refreshed.

What was this thing coming out of someone's stomach? As I was looking down at the cotton ball, Master murmured quietly, "...A hairball?"

"A hairball?" I repeated. Isn't that the ball of fur cats cough up?

I looked down at the hairball Saebyeok had spat out. It was a round, fluffy ball of fur, just cute and soft, with no dirt. But the hairball wasn't black, it was white.

It was all my fur.
