I Was Kidnapped By The Strongest Guild -
Chapter 226: My Impersonator
Park Taesan slapped his own mouth and approached with a hearty laugh.
He must have hit himself quite hard, as the area around his mouth was red.
"Haha! So the kids drew it!"
Park Taesan opened the door on Levinas' side.
Levinas' eyes narrowed fiercely.
Without even looking at Park Taesan, she just stared straight ahead, huffing.
"Levinas, what's wrong?"
"He insulted the King's drawing!"
"Ah, well..."
Levinas seemed angrier about the fact that my drawing was insulted rather than her own.Saebyeok, caught up in the mood, pretended to growl.
She didn't actually scratch her throat and growl, but just said the word "growl" out loud.
"Oh my! I'm so sorry! This lowly one was blinded by jealousy and..."
Park Taesan muttered as if acting in a play.
He looked like Dolsoe[1] from a historical drama.
"What were you jealous of?!"
"The drawing on the car was so pretty, I spoke ill out of envy!"
At the compliment about the drawing being pretty, Levinas' shoulders rose.
Her eyebrows remained furrowed, but the corners of her mouth twitched slightly.
"If you're envious, you can just ask me to draw for you!"
"Gasp! Would you draw on this lowly one's car too?!"
"Yeah! I'll draw for you!"
Levinas softened her expression and giggled.
At that point, the Master, who had been listening to their conversation, spoke up.
"Your car is black, you know."
"We can paint it white!"
With those words, Park Taesan ran towards the building.
We watched Park Taesan's retreating figure before getting out of the car.
Park Taesan returned about a minute later.
His hands were full of white drawing supplies.
"Wow...!"
There was paint, markers, and even paint cans.
Levinas' eyes sparkled at the various drawing tools.
She stomped her feet, eager to start drawing.
"Here! Draw with these, would you?"
"Yeah! King! Let's draw!"
"O-okay..."
The Masters didn't seem to care about scribbling on the car.
They must be extremely wealthy to be so nonchalant about it.
I approached the black car Park Taesan had pointed to, along with Levinas.
I couldn't tell what model it was, but it was clearly an expensive car.
"Since we only have white, we can only draw horned rabbits and cats!"
"With the black background, you could draw black cats too, you know?"
"Aha!"
Levinas began drawing on the car without hesitation.
Saebyeok climbed onto the hood to take a nap, just like before.
"Hmm..."
Not many people would have drawn on such a luxury car.
I pushed aside my hesitation and started drawing along with Levinas.
After about ten minutes of drawing, another car pulled into the parking lot.
It was an unfamiliar car, but I knew the owner.
It was Chae Juyeon, the Sacred Guild Master.
"I'm sorry. Did you wait long?"
Chae Juyeon approached with an awkward smile.
Our Master shook his head lightly towards her.
"No, we just got here too... Did you change your car again?"
"Yes. It's a limited tropical edition that just came out. I barely managed to buy one."
Chae Juyeon spoke as if boasting, but the Master's expression remained indifferent.
The Master simply shrugged and pointed to his own car.
"My car is a one-of-a-kind edition."
"One-of-a-kind...?"
Chae Juyeon's eyes widened as she looked at the Master's car.
Her gaze shifted towards Levinas and me.
"M-my car too...!"
"Not today, we've done too much already."
The Master stopped Chae Juyeon as she approached us.
A look of frustration settled on Chae Juyeon's face.
"When will I get a chance then?"
"How should I know? Why don't you be content with your tropical limited edition for now?"
But my car is a one-of-a-kind edition.
The Master muttered the last part quietly.
"...Jerk."
Chae Juyeon glared at the Master with narrowed eyes.
However, the Master didn't seem to care and simply entered the building.
"We'll be done soon, so keep drawing."
"Okay."
I watched Chae Juyeon being pushed along, then resumed drawing.
Drawing on a luxury car.
It was surprisingly fun.
---
---
We alternated between drawing and playing around.
After about an hour of this, the Masters returned.
"Hahaha! My car has become even more awesome!"
Park Taesan laughed boisterously as he inspected his car.
Chae Juyeon looked on with envious eyes.
"Gyeoul! Gyeoul!"
Chae Juyeon called my name as she ran over.
She seemed somewhat urgent.
"Yes?"
"Later, will you draw on the Master's car too?"
"Sure, I can do that."
There was no reason not to.
When I nodded in agreement, Chae Juyeon flashed a bright smile.
"Gyeoul has turned into a ghost, huh?"
"A ghost...?"
"Yeah. You're all covered in white."
At Chae Juyeon's words, I looked down at myself.
White paint and paint splatters covered my body and clothes.
It must have gotten on me while playing with the kids.
Since it was non-toxic, I wasn't particularly concerned.
"It's fine. As long as it's not on my face."
"It's on your face too, though?"
"...Oh?"
When did it get on my face?
I tried to recall.
The memory of hugging the kids while covered in paint came to mind.
"I'll have to wash up when I get home. Don't worry too much, it comes off easily with water."
"Okay."
But was it okay to ride in the car while covered in paint?
I was worried, but the Master didn't seem to mind at all.
He was opening the car door himself, telling the kids to get in.
"Gyeoul, see you later?"
"Yes. But can't you come with us?"
"Sorry... the Master has a busy schedule."
"Ah, I see."
If he was busy, there was nothing we could do.
Though disappointed, I decided to let her go.
"I'll definitely come visit later. Okay?"
"Okay."
After exchanging goodbyes with the Masters, I got into the car.
Levinas held a paint can that was still more than half full in her arms.
She hugged it tightly as if it were a precious object.
For some reason, Levinas' eyes were sparkling unusually brightly.
---
---
We returned to the guild.
The Master rushed off to attend to other matters, while the kids and I headed to the park.
"Levinas, we should shower first."
"Just let me do this!"
"What are you-"
Before I could finish speaking, Levinas raised the paint can high.
Then she poured the paint over Saebyeok's head.
"......?"
Saebyeok's black hair gradually turned white.
Despite the sticky paint being poured on her, Saebyeok remained still.
She only flattened her ears to keep the paint from getting in them.
"L-Levinas?"
"The Dark King has become the Light King!"
After emptying the entire can of paint, Levinas started spreading it over Saebyeok's black areas.
Ears, hair, and even the tail.
Saebyeok's black parts began turning white.
"Uh..."
Was this an accident?
My mouth fell open, but thinking about it, it didn't seem like that big of a deal.
After all, the paint was made for this kind of play.
It washed off easily and was non-toxic enough to be edible.
"King, look at this!"
Levinas patted Saebyeok's back.
Saebyeok had turned completely white.
"Wow, she's all white now?"
"Yeah! Now she's exactly like the King!"
"Exactly..."
Saebyeok already looked like my twin, except for her height and color.
Now that even her color matched, she could almost pass for my doppelganger.
"Dark King! Imitate the King!"
At Levinas' request, Saebyeok's ears and tail drooped.
She started trembling and whimpering, making a "woo-woo" sound.
"Wha! It's exactly like the King!"
"D-do I really act like that...?"
"Sometimes!"
I guess I did act like that occasionally.
Having been through a lot in this world, it was unavoidable.
Still, this was a big improvement compared to when I was alone.
As I was making excuses to myself, Levinas grabbed both my and Saebyeok's wrists.
"Let's trick someone with this!"
"Trick?"
"Yeah! Have the Dark King pretend to be the King!"
"Hmm... should we?"
Given how similar we looked now, we could almost be considered doppelgangers.
Maybe we could fool someone?
I started to feel a bit intrigued too.
"Over there."
Saebyeok pointed somewhere with her fingertip.
In the distance, we could see Yeoreum walking.
"King! Hide!"
"Okay."
I hid in some nearby bushes and watched the kids.
Thanks to my good eyesight and hearing, I could see and hear everything they were doing.
"Yeoreum!"
Levinas waved her hand and ran towards Yeoreum.
Saebyeok followed behind, trotting along.
"The little ones are here? I heard you were back and was looking for you."
"Yeah! We're back! But look at the King!"
Levinas pushed Saebyeok forward.
Yeoreum was startled by Saebyeok's sticky, paint-covered appearance.
"Oh my, what happened here?"
"We played with paint!"
"...It washes off, right?"
"Yeah! They said it's not bad for the body!"
That's a relief.
Yeoreum sighed in relief and examined Saebyeok from various angles.
Her brow furrowed and relaxed repeatedly.
"Gyeoul, how did you... Is this Saebyeok?"
Yeoreum placed her hand on top of Saebyeok's head.
It looked like she was measuring her height.
So, the height difference was what gave it away?
Just as I was about to step out of the bushes, Saebyeok spread her arms wide.
"Give me a hug. Gyeoul wants a hug."
Saebyeok spoke in a soft voice, unlike her usual tone.
The acting was quite amateurish.
It wasn't something I would normally say.
I was sure this would give it away, but for some reason, Yeoreum fell for it.
"Gyeoul, is that you?"
Yeoreum chuckled and picked up Saebyeok.
Saebyeok imitated me, nuzzling Yeoreum's cheek.
"Yes. I'm Gyeoul. Please pat my head."
"He-hehe..."
Yeoreum stroked Saebyeok's head.
She seemed to have completely fallen for it.
Why did she believe it when I'd never spoken like that even once?
Bewildered by the situation, I could only blink in surprise.
