I Was Kidnapped By The Strongest Guild
Chapter 122: Toughness Training

"Only recall one memory per day, or you might get overwhelmed by trauma."

Those who accepted Chae Juyeon's suggestion agreed to meet again the next day and parted ways to attend to their respective tasks.

Jung Yu-na went back to the lab, while Yeoreum walked through the park with Saebyeok.

Saebyeok held an ice cream, white as a snowflake, in her hand.

"Saebyeok, is this ice cream a treat for taking good care of your siblings?"

"Yes. I took good care of them."

As Saebyeok licked her ice cream, she reflected on her experience in this world, feeling more senior despite Gyeoul being older.

Age doesn't usually matter in terms of seniority, making Gyeoul effectively her junior or younger sibling.

"Saebyeok, since you're the eldest, you need to take good care of the younger ones, okay?"

"Yes."

"Hehe, I'll buy you more ice cream later."

While Gyeoul and Levinas would likely do the same, emotions play a big part in these gestures.

Yeoreum smiled with her eyes and gently stroked Saebyeok's head, causing her expressionless tail to sway gently.

"Later, your sister will..."

Before Yeoreum could finish, a bright light burst near the tent.

It was a warm, non-threatening light, so there was no cause for alarm.

"Hmm?"

"What kind of light is that?"

Yeoreum blinked and ran towards where the light had burst, pacing herself so Saebyeok could keep up.

"What's that...?"

Arriving at the tent, they witnessed a whimsical yet adorable scene: two children sitting on a carrot that had grown larger than a grown man.

Crunch crunch-

Levinas clung to it like a cicada, nibbling away at the carrot.

Gyeoul was busy tying a rope around the carrot's stem.

It was a scene straight out of a fairy tale.

At that moment, Yeoreum looked up at the carrot and the children.

Thump-

The ice cream Saebyeok was holding fell to the ground.

Her expressionless eyes lit up.

"Wow."

Amazed, Saebyeok ran towards the carrot.

Bouncing on her feet, she asked to be lifted, prompting Yeoreum to lift her and ask,

"Gyeoul, what is this?"

"It's a carrot."

"Yes. But why is it so big?"

"I don't know. It seems like Levinas' magic."

Levinas'?

Yeoreum's gaze shifted towards Levinas.

Still nibbling, Levinas had only left small bite marks on the massive carrot. At this rate, it would take a month to eat it all.

'Amazing.'

What magic could make a carrot grow so huge?

Even Yeoreum, a seasoned adventurer, had never seen such a thing.

'It doesn't look dangerous.'

As Yeoreum pondered, Gyeoul continued diligently tying the rope.

Crack!

After checking the tightly tied rope, Gyeoul slid down it.

"Gyeoul, should we pull it out?"

"Yes!"

"Then your sister will help."

But first, Levinas and Saebyeok had to come down.

Yeoreum reached out to the children.

Crunch crunch-

Levinas, still nibbling on the carrot, let Yeoreum easily pull her down.

Her cheeks puffed out like a hamster's.

"Tasty?"

"Mmm!"

Levinas' eyes were moist, a look reserved for truly delicious carrots.

It was so big, but was it tasty too?

Curious, Yeoreum helped Saebyeok down.

"I'll do the pulling, so could you step back?"

"Yes."

With just enough force, Yeoreum pulled on the rope, and the giant carrot came out of the ground, revealing a base three times its previous size.

"Wow."

"Mmm!"

"······!"

The children each uttered exclamations of admiration and rushed towards the carrot.

The carrot, lying on its side, towered over the children.

"What shall we do with this, Gyeoul?"

"Uh... maybe donate it to a free food service?"

"Hmm... do you think they would accept something this big?"

"Maybe not..."

"Then, it'll just have to be a snack for Levinas."

As Gyeoul gazed at the carrot, her tail swayed gently.

The following afternoon, after returning from a hunt, I headed back to the tent, half-expecting to find Levinas munching on the giant carrot.

"Levinas," I called her name and looked around, but there was no sign of Levinas anywhere.

Perhaps it was my bias to assume she'd be near the carrot because she's a horned rabbit.

Just as I was about to head to the pond, I heard someone breathing inside the carrot.

"Huh?"

Climbing on top, I found a small hollowed-out space at the top where Levinas was curled up, taking a nap.

'When did she eat this much?'

Beast-kin supposedly don't gain weight easily, so she should be fine even if she eats a lot.

I gently stroked the sleeping Levinas's head.

'It would be fun to hollow it out from the inside.'

Wouldn't that turn it into a secret carrot base?

Levinas and Saebyeok would surely love that.

Deciding to suggest it to Levinas later, I climbed down from the carrot, not wanting to disturb her sleep.

I should go find the others.

At this hour, most would be walking in the park.

So, I set out to find people and soon spotted three familiar figures from behind—Yeoreum, Jung Yu-na, and Chae Juyeon. For some reason, their shoulders seemed unusually heavy.

What's going on? Was there some trouble?

The atmosphere was too tense for me to approach, so I hesitated in the background.

"Ha... I got hit again today."

"...Me too. I got knocked out."

"I did too."

It was hard to believe that these three skilled adventurers had been hit, especially since one of them was a famous guild master.

'I wonder who hit them...'

The only person I could think of who could possibly hit them was our guild master.

But our guild master isn't someone who would recklessly engage in violence. There must be someone else.

"Isn't this crazy? How can someone beat people until they pass out?"

"And they only do it where there are no people... sneaky in such a weird way..."

Ha.

Chae Juyeon watched as the other two sighed deeply.

"I was running away, and Yu-na just started laughing."

"Ugh."

"But eventually, you did help. But why were you laughing...?"

"I didn't realize you had no mana..."

Chae Juyeon had been helped by Jung Yu-na while trying to escape.

What on earth are they talking about? Maybe something in the dungeon?

Unable to contain my curiosity any longer, I ran towards them.

"What happened?"

"Uh, what?"

"Who hit you?"

Noticing me, all three suddenly froze as if on cue. They exchanged glances, and Yeoreum was the first to speak.

"Did you finish hunting already?"

"Yes. I finished early today."

"Uh... did you hear our conversation...?"

"Yes..."

Yeoreum seemed a bit off, slightly tense.

"Where did you start listening?"

"I heard up to the part about getting knocked out... Ah."

I realized belatedly that admitting they were hit could be embarrassing for such experienced adventurers.

They get hit so often they probably forgot about it.

"I'm sorry... I didn't mean to eavesdrop, but I ended up hearing everything..."

"Uh, yeah. Gyeoul, you have good ears."

Yeoreum reached out and playfully twiddled my ears.

My ears trembled, caught between a familiar and foreign sensation.

"Excuse me, may I help you...?"

"How...?"

Yeoreum swallowed her nervousness.

Seemingly embarrassed by revealing her vulnerability, she forced an awkward smile.

"I can teach you how to take a hit without it hurting."

"Really...?"

"I've been hit plenty of times myself."

There's no need to be embarrassed; I've been through it too. Sharing this should build a sense of camaraderie.

However, the expressions on the faces of the three worsened.

"Gyeoul, the thing is..."

"Yes?"

"The sisters here..."

Yeoreum paused, glancing at her companions, looking as though she needed assistance.

Chae Juyeon bent down to my level, perhaps trying to take over the conversation.

"Gyeoul, is there really a way to get hit without it hurting?"

"Yes. Just cover the sensitive areas like the stomach or liver..."

"Is that so?"

"Yes. But ideally, it's best to run away. A bad hit could break something."

Park Min-kyu was particularly adept at this.

He knew how to control his strength so as not to break anything—although sometimes things did break.

'Didn't he say something about hitting without using mana?'

I vaguely recalled Park Min-kyu boasting about it.

"Gyeoul, thanks for the advice. We were actually doing toughness training."

"Oh, were you? I thought someone was bullying you."

"Ah, who would bully us?"

Chae Juyeon waved her hand dismissively.

Obviously, it was unlikely for these three to be in a position to be hit by anyone else.

"That's a relief."

"Uh, yeah."

I felt relieved to know they weren't being attacked.

However, their expressions still seemed strained.

It was clear they were sore from getting thumped all over during their toughness training.
