Victor looked at Logan with a serious expression. Logan held his gaze for ten seconds, then sighed and turned his attention to the beast ahead.

The same thing applies here, only that since your already at level 80 you will get twice the pain from both breakthrough's.

Logan paused briefly before continuing, his voice growing a little more analytical.

"To go a bit deeper into this… think of it like evolving from human to meta-human, then again to into a superhuman. Your level-based evolutions were about adapting your body to your class. But this—this is different it won't be about fixing your body to be able to use your powerful skills, it's about changing into something greater all together."

He tilted his head. "So… in short, do you got a way to stay quiet?"

Victor rubbed the back of his head. "Sure. I'll just dive into your shadow again…"

Logan shook his head with a sigh, then pricked his fingertip. A drop of blood welled up, and he pressed it to Victor's left shoulder—right in a spot Logan did not have a tattoo on himself yet..

"Alright. Hide now."

Victor didn't wait. He vanished instantly, slipping into Logan's shadow.

The process hadn't started yet… but Logan could already feel the faint emotional turbulence from within the shadow. Even concealed, Victor's link was still active and radiated the distress and pain he was feeling.

But at least he was quiet.

That was all Logan needed for now.

The only other sound was the crunch of bone and meat as the ogre tore into the Scorpicore's carcass with a lazy, rumbling growl.

[Hold on, your Majesty… just gotta change my armor. I think I grew a few inches after that evolution thing. Hell, don't think you'll be able to keep Lisa once I step out, bro. I'm pretty sure I just became hotter than that fool Brian,] Victor quipped.

[Victor… shut up, man…] Logan groaned.

[I didn't know you were like that, Victor…] Silvia's voice came through, cool and unreadable.

[… Aw fu—]

[Why does everyone make the same mistake…] Logan muttered. [But do expect a beating after we finish off the ogre.]

He couldn't help but chuckle.

Victor may have evolved… but Logan who would be able to use the same skills would still be able to smack him good.
