Chapter 936: Chapter 934: Today’s Issue, Not Over Yet (2)
So much blood... How deep must the wound be?
Su Ying had just been taking a shower, clearly uninjured, so the injured person... was it Han Jingnian?
Xia Wan’an turned her head sharply, scrutinizing the floor carefully, then she saw behind the sofa, a trail of blood drops leading to the door.
The corridor of the 101 Clubhouse was carpeted with dark colors. After leaving the Qinyu Building, Xia Wan’an bent her head low, searching intently on the carpet for a good while before finding the bloodstains. She followed them, and eventually stopped in front of a door to an underground warehouse.
So, was Han Jingnian inside this warehouse right in front of her?
Thinking this, Xia Wan’an reached out to push on the warehouse door. It wasn’t locked, but it wouldn’t budge, obviously blocked from the inside.
The waiter who had been blocking Xia Wan’an from entering had followed her the whole way.
While Xia Wan’an continued trying to push the door in front of her, she asked the waiter behind her, "What is this warehouse used for?"
"It’s an abandoned warehouse with a bunch of unwanted items from the club inside. The boss said he’d find time to renovate it into a wine cellar, but the plan has never advanced..."
An abandoned warehouse... As if something had occurred to Xia Wan’an, she didn’t wait for the waiter to finish speaking before interrupting, "Does this warehouse have windows?"
"No, it’s underground. Warehouses rarely have windows, right?"
Xia Wan’an’s heart leaped to her throat, "And the lights?"
"There are lights, but it’s been abandoned for so long, they’re probably not working anymore..."
Hearing this, Xia Wan’an suddenly became frantic and started pushing the door even harder. Unable to budge it, she looked over at the waiter, "Come and help, quickly!"
The waiter, not understanding why Xia Wan’an had suddenly become so flustered, stood still for a moment.
"Quickly!" Xia Wan’an’s voice rose as she urged once more.
Han Jingnian had a fear of darkness; locking himself in a pitch-black place might have preserved his innocence, but it could cost him his life!
Seeing that the waiter was not coming over, Xia Wan’an spoke with an agitated tone, "Someone could die!"
The waiter, hearing these few words, hurried over. She helped Xia Wan’an push hard against the door. They didn’t know what Han Jingnian had used to block the door; both women exerted all their strength but to no avail.
"It’s no use, continuing like this isn’t going to work..." Xia Wan’an gasped, gazing at the door for a while before turning to the waiter, "You have maintenance workers, right? Call one over with tools to take this door down!"
"This... That wouldn’t be good, would it? We’d need the boss’s permission for that?" the waiter hesitated.
"But there’s someone trapped inside! If anything happens, can your club afford that responsibility?"
"But, but..." the waiter faltered, then finally took out her cell phone, "Miss, let me ask our boss first."
With that, she went to make a call.
Perhaps the boss of the 101 Clubhouse was busy; he was not answering the phone right away.
Concerned about Han Jingnian inside, Xia Wan’an spoke anxiously, "We can’t delay any longer. If you don’t call someone to break down the door, I will find someone myself!"
"Miss, I’m just an employee, I really can’t decide on this..."
"Since you can’t decide, I’ll make the decision!" The waiter had not finished speaking when a voice came from the direction of the stairs.
