Chapter 811: Chapter 811: In Front of Her, Nobody is Important (1)
...
In the West, facing Dongfang Yaoyao, within an ancient and mysterious castle, a man dressed in a beige house robe sat at a dining table for over ten people. He flipped through a newspaper while several servants attended to him, sipping on premium hand-ground coffee.
The room was filled with soothing music, behind the man hung vividly colored oil paintings, creating a scene that seemed straight out of a classic Western film from the 80s.
In the castle courtyard, dozens of dark-skinned servants were busy mowing the lawn, feeding the fish, and trimming the excess branches in the garden.
Suddenly, a ring from a telephone call interrupted this bustling yet leisurely time. A slightly overweight servant set down the vase he was polishing and quickly picked up the compact desk phone, then hastened across the long corridor into the dining room and presented the phone to the man in the beige house robe.
The man glanced at the phone, then put down his newspaper and coffee cup. He took a wet towel offered by a nearby servant, wiped his hands, and then answered the call in fluent English, "Hello, AllureLove."
It was unclear what the person on the other end said, but as the man listened, he abruptly stood, even his spoken language switched to Chinese, "Who is this?"
The fingertips holding the phone trembled slightly. What exactly was said on the other end of the call, no one knew; after a long while, he responded, "I understand. I’ll do whatever you say."
The call didn’t last much longer and was soon disconnected. As the man walked out of the dining room, he called out to the surrounding servants, "Arick, pack my bags; Areland, prepare my passport, and notify Cang to book my ticket, I need to return to China."
As he issued his orders, he had already ascended to the second floor and stepped into a double-doored bedroom. He quickly changed his clothes, and by the time he emerged from the bedroom, Arick had his luggage ready, "Sir, your luggage."
The man said "Thank you," took the suitcase, and went straight downstairs.
Areland, seeing the man come down, immediately approached with the passport, while on the phone trying to show it to the man, "Sir, Miss Cang says you have an important dinner tomorrow that you cannot miss."
The man didn’t take the phone, but instead leaned in slightly toward the held-up phone with a hint of aggression in his voice, "Since when did my decisions become open to your influence?"
Silence fell on the line, and after a small pause, a female voice came through, "Boss, you organized the dinner party yourself; many important people will be attending, and for you..."
"Remember, in her presence, no one is important." The man impatiently interrupted the woman on the call before she could finish, "Three minutes, I want the booking information in three minutes. If I don’t get it, you know the consequences."
With that, he hung up the call, took the passport from the servant’s hand, and added, "Ready the car."
Soon, the man was in the car, which slowly drove down the castle’s smooth driveway.
As he left the castle, his phone buzzed—it was a text message indicating that his ticket had been successfully booked.
Two hours later, the man had smoothly passed through customs and was on a plane to Beijing.
