While Zhang Te’s assistant was filled with curiosity, Han Jingnian had already sent a friend request.

He stared at the dialog box for entering information while adding a friend, thought for a bit, then lifted his hand and typed out three words: "Han Jingnian."

After the friend request was sent, Han Jingnian waited for a while. Seeing no response, his brows couldn’t help but furrow slightly.

Seeing this, Zhang Te’s assistant spoke up immediately: "CEO Han, the missus is probably busy with something else and hasn’t seen her phone. Once she sees your friend request, she will definitely accept it and you’ll get a notification."

Han Jingnian dismissed him with a look that seemed to say, ’as if I didn’t know that,’ gave a noncommittal ’Mm,’ stared at WeChat for a bit longer, then finally put down his phone.

"CEO Han, you have a meeting in ten minutes, and a client to meet at three o’clock this afternoon...," Zhang Te’s assistant started to report on the day’s agenda.

Han Jingnian remained silent. After listening to Zhang Te’s rundown, he organized some documents for the upcoming meeting. Once the time was about right, he took Zhang Te to the meeting room.

Before entering the meeting room, Han Jingnian turned his phone to silent mode and checked WeChat again.

During the two-hour-long meeting, Han Jingnian checked his phone five times. By the time the meeting ended, he still hadn’t received a notification that Xia Wan’an had accepted his friend request.

After the meeting, he had a client visit. On the way there, Han Jingnian took two pauses to check WeChat. Each time, there was still no response from Xia Wan’an.

After meeting with the client, it was around four o’clock. As soon as Han Jingnian got back to his office, he immediately pulled out his phone to check WeChat. Seeing his friend request still had no response, he became suspicious that there might be a problem with the company’s network. He disconnected from the WiFi, switched to 4G network and waited for a bit. Seeing yet again no response, he suddenly threw his phone onto the desk in frustration.

Zhang Te’s assistant, who saw all of this, broke out in a cold sweat.

This was his suggestion. If his wife didn’t accept CEO Han’s friend request, wouldn’t he be a deep trouble?

Thinking of this, Zhang Te’s assistant hastily said, "CEO Han, the missus is probably still busy. Wait a bit longer. There’s still an hour left until the end of the day. Around five o’clock, once the missus checks her phone, she will accept you..."

After sending the message, when there was no response, he immediately held his phone up to Han Jingnian, "CEO Han, look, she hasn’t responded to the friend request I sent, she really must be busy..."

Han Jingnian’s expression softened slightly.

Zhang Te’s assistant heaved a sigh of relief. Just as he was about to put his phone away, his phone chimed. A new message appeared on his screen: I have accepted your friend request. We can start chatting now.
