Chapter 727: Chapter 727: You Might Have to Call Miss Qin ’Sister-in-Law’ in the Future (1)_1
Zhang Te breathed a suppressed sigh of relief, "President Han, I’ll go handle the other matters now."
With that, Zhang Te quickly exited.
As Han Jingnian’s gaze returned to the computer screen, he stared at the boldly colored girl standing on the podium, lecturing the reporters with an iron hand. His eyes glittered briefly, then he suddenly shouted, "Wait."
Zhang Te instinctively halted in his steps, thinking that Han Jingnian was going to confront him about peeking at his computer screen. He stood petrified with his back to Han Jingnian for a moment before turning around obsequiously, beaming at Han Jingnian with a remarkably radiant smile, "President Han, do you have any other instructions?"
Facing Zhang Te’s toadying attempt, Han Jingnian didn’t even glance at him. Instead, he stared at the computer screen for a while longer before rising from his seat, picking up the mobile phone on his desk, and walking towards Zhang Te.
Watching Han Jingnian approach step by step, Zhang Te instinctively stepped back half a step, then blurted out an apology: "President Han, I was wrong..."
Before Zhang Te could even finish the sentence, Han Jingnian strolled past him towards the door, "Let’s go."
"Let’s go?"
Zhang Te stood still, stunned. He blinked, unused to not receiving a scolding, before he hurriedly followed Han Jingnian.
Did this mean President Han intended to accompany him to the scene of Ms. Qin Shujian’s press conference? When had President Han started taking such a keen interest in Ms. Qin Shujian? After all, when she had encountered trouble, President Han had even prompted him to investigate the most aggressive reporters... Could it be that President Han had developed some special feelings for Ms. Qin Shujian?
As this suspicion flashed across Zhang Te’s mind, he suddenly became worried.
Throughout the elevator ride down, Zhang Te gave frequent glances at Han Jingnian. When they got in the car, he saw Han Jingnian open the live broadcast of Qin Shujian’s press conference. Unable to resist any longer, he asked, "President Han, are you going to personally bail out Ms. Qin Shujian?"
Han Jingnian didn’t say a word.
His silence made Zhang Te increasingly nervous.
While driving, he occasionally glanced at Han Jingnian. After hearing Xia Chen’an’s confession to Qin Shujian from Han Jingnian’s phone, he once again subtly hinted at something with his words, "President Han, I suppose when you see Ms. Qin Shujian in the future, you’ll have to call her your sister-in-law."
Zhang Te deliberately emphasized the word ’sister-in-law’, suggesting to Han Jingnian that his heart shouldn’t be unsettled, or else it’d be incestuous!
Han Jingnian still remained silent but his eyes became somewhat vague as he stared at the phone screen.
Seeing Han Jingnian glued to the live broadcast of Qin Shujian’s press conference, Zhang Te became more uneasy. He opened his mouth yet again, "President Han, Ms. Qin and..."
He wanted to remind Han Jingnian that Xia Wan’an and Qin Shujian were friends, and his excessive concern for Qin Shujian was a bit unfair to his wife...
He was just about to say these words, but Han Jingnian, sitting in the back seat, suddenly spoke, "Don’t you think she looks familiar?"
Zhang Te was stunned in his tracks, "What?"
After three seconds of silence, Han Jingnian slightly moved his lips, "The girl who came to Qin Shujian’s rescue."
Only then did Zhang Te realize who Han Jingnian was referring to - the girl who had rescued Qin Shujian from the troubled waters. Then he realized he had made a mistake!
President Han wasn’t interested in Qin Shujian, his real target was... that unfamiliar girl!
