Before long, the road behind Han Jingnian’s car was jammed with vehicles.

The sound of honking was continuous, but Han Jingnian seemed not to hear it as he was totally engrossed in kissing the girl.

It wasn’t until a traffic police officer came over and knocked on the car window that Han Jingnian reluctantly let go of Xia Wan’an.

As the traffic officer continued knocking on the window, Han Jingnian, acting as if he heard nothing, stared at the girl in front of him. He gently stroked her cheeks with the pads of his fingers and then finally said gently, "Not hiding anything from you. I’m just... touched."

Having said that, Han Jingnian bowed his head and placed a kiss on Xia Wan’an’s brow, then sat upright and lowered the car window.

After having accepted the traffic officer’s criticism and education for a solid three minutes, Han Jingnian finally put his foot on the accelerator and hit the road.

The car quickly arrived at a large restaurant in Beijing. After parking the car, Han Jingnian and Xia Wan’an went directly to a private room on the second floor.

During dinner, Xia Wan’an could hardly utter a sentence without mentioning the baby. Given his lapse earlier on the road, Han Jingnian was overly cautious. Despite the happy and excited Xia Wan’an, who was causing immense agony in his heart, he didn’t let it show.

Since the mall was located next to the restaurant, after finishing their meal, Han Jingnian and Xia Wan’an walked right over. In the maternity and baby section on the fourth floor, Han Jingnian accompanied Xia Wan’an for just half an hour, yet their hands were already filled with bags from various brands.

Xia Wan’an was intending to check out baby cribs after settling their nth payment when Han Jingnian’s phone rang in his pocket.

He pulled it out and saw that it was a call from his assistant, Zhang Te. Thinking it was an urgent work matter, he gestured to Xia Wan’an to wait a moment before answering the call.

"Mr Han, the wedding dress you personally designed has arrived. The designer suggested that your wife personally try it on to see if there are any areas that require adjustments."

Han Jingnian did not respond but simply lifted his gaze to look at Xia Wan’an who was shopping for baby cribs not far away.

"Mr Han, shall I arrange for someone similar to your wife’s figure to try on the dress first and see how it turns out?"

Han Jingnian, having heard that, slightly twitched his eyelids and took his gaze back: "No need."

"Ah? Mr Han, are you saying the wedding dress shouldn’t be tried on in advance? What if it doesn’t fit on the day... "

Before Zhang Te finished babbling, Han Jingnian cut him off, "Make arrangements at the store. In about half an hour, I’ll bring her over for a fitting."

"Oh oh okay, I’ll arrange it right away."

Han Jingnian paid no heed to Zhang Te and hung up the phone.

He stood there, watching the girl chatting cheerfully with the sales person for a while before lowering his gaze to his shoes. He then quickly composed himself and walked towards Xia Wan’an.

Noticing Han Jingnian approaching, Xia Wan’an turned her head and asked, "Finished with your call?"

Han Jingnian grunted in response, glancing at the baby pillow in Xia Wan’an’s hand before saying, "There’s something I’d like you to help me with."

Xia Wan’an put down the baby pillow and apologized to the sales person with a smile, then walked over to Han Jingnian, "What is it?"

"A rather decent friend in business wants to propose to the girl he..." Han Jingnian intended to say ’girlfriend’, but he changed his mind at the last moment, "..loves very, very much."
