The next day, Xia Wan’an woke up, and it was already ten o’clock in the morning.

After crawling out of bed, she cleaned herself and then, as usual, went to the dining room for breakfast.

Normally, Han Jingnian is busy with work. After preparing breakfast for her, he mostly leaves for work. Today is one of his few days at home.

Han Jingnian sat in the dining room, watching a financial news report. Hearing footsteps, he looked back at Xia Wan’an, then got up to help her set up breakfast.

Han Jingnian had slept late the night before, maybe he had only just woken up, he didn’t have too much time to prepare breakfast. Breakfast was delivered and Xia Wan’an recognized it as her favourite baozi place.

After taking her seat, Xia Wan’an first took two sips of soy milk, then took a meat bun that Han Jingnian handed to her. Hungry, she took a large bite, yet after the taste of meat and the soft bun skin hit her tongue, instead of satisfaction, she felt an inexplicable nausea.

She tried to suppress it but she couldn’t hold back the urge to vomit. She hurriedly kicked away her chair, ignoring Han Jingnian’s shout, and rushed to the bathroom.

She vomited the bun in her mouth and dry heaved for a while over the toilet. Eventually, her stomach eased.

"What’s the matter?" Han Jingnian, who followed behind Xia Wan’an, asked worriedly, "Are you not feeling well?"

Xia Wan’an waved her hand and flushed the toilet.

In the sound of the flushing water, Han Jingnian, still worried, proposed, "You change clothes, I’ll get the car ready, we’ll go straight to Xie Lin."

"No need, I probably drank too much coffee and milk tea these past days, I’m just feeling a bit unwell..." Xia Wan’an suddenly paused mid-sentence.

One minute, two minutes... finally, after five minutes, Xia Wan’an saw two stripes appear on one of the tests.

Her heart seemed to be fiercely lashed, trembling in shock. Then, holding her breath, she looked at the second, third, fourth, and fifth test sticks.

All five tests showed two stripes.

So, she...with only a one percent chance of pregnancy...was pregnant?
