Chapter 586: Chapter 586 Left Hand Ring Finger (2)_1

The turn of events left Xia Wan’an struggling to control her emotions. The light reflected by the ring at her fingertip stabbed her eyes, causing them to tear. She wanted to hold back the urge to cry, but her eyes still got wet. Swiftly, she kicked the chair behind her away and left the restaurant.

"An’an!"

Han Jingnian instinctively stood up, but by the time he chased out of the restaurant, Xia Wan’an had already turned into the public restroom of the living room and locked the door behind her.

Han Jingnian walked up quickly, turned the doorknob, and found that the door was locked. He then raised his hand and gently knocked on the door, "An’an?"

"An’an? An’an?"

Han Jingnian called out to Xia Wan’an several times without any response. He became worried as he turned the doorknob violently, making the door rattle.

Just when he was contemplating whether to just kick the door open, Xia Wan’an’s voice came from inside the bathroom. Despite her best efforts to keep her voice steady, he still heard a slight tremble, "I’m fine."

Was she crying?

Han Jingnian furrowed his brows, looking increasingly anxious. Without any second thoughts, he took a couple of steps back, preparing to kick at the door.

Out of fear that he would break the door, Xia Wan’an spoke up again, "Han Jingnian, I’m really okay. Just give me a few minutes..."

Her words made Han Jingnian retract his foot that was about to hit the door.

Seeing silence outside the door, Xia Wan’an finally, with trembling fingertips, touched the diamond ring.

This was something she had dreamed of happening, something she had given up on, and yet now it had come true... He had really given her a diamond ring...

Unable to hold back, tears fell from the corners of Xia Wan’an’s eyes.

She had cried for him many times in the past, but this was the first time she cried because of joy.

Xia Wan’an had just wiped away her tears when her face became wet once again. She didn’t know how many times she had wiped her tears until her emotions finally stabilized.

Looking at her tear-stained, reddened reflection in the mirror, she couldn’t help but laugh through her tears.

She turned on the faucet, washing away the tears from her face until the redness faded from her nose. She took some tissues to dry her face and hands, opened the door, and walked out.

Han Jingnian was standing at the entrance of the restroom and when she came out, he immediately asked her with a worried look, "An’an?"

Seeing Han Jingnian’s concern, a warm feeling spread across Xia Wan’an’s eyes, threatening to trigger another wave of tears. But thankfully, she held them back, looked up at Han Jingnian and flashed him a beaming smile, "I’m okay. I just had a stomach ache, that’s why I went to the rest room..."

Han Jingnian knew Xia Wan’an was lying, but he didn’t expose her lie. He just stared at her, observing her for a moment, and when he was sure she was fine now, he nodded lightly, "Let’s get breakfast quickly then. Otherwise, it’ll get cold."

Xia Wan’an nodded with a beaming smile and took the lead in skipping off towards the dining room.

Han Jingnian gazed at Xia Wan’an’s retreating figure, stood there for a while before catching up with her.

He was not a fool, even though she had hidden it well, he knew that she had cried in the restroom...

Just for a diamond ring he gave her, she was this happy?

Her happiness was supposed to be a delightful thing, yet his heart... ached more than ever.
