Chapter 582: Chapter 582: Would You Forgive Me? (2)_1
Xia Wan’an was startled by Han Jingnian, "Han Jingnian, what are you doing?"
Han Jingnian ignored her and remained kneeling on one knee without any intention of getting up.
A kitten was constantly circling around him, occasionally meowing playfully.
"Han Jingnian?"
Xia Wan’an called out Han Jingnian’s name once more. Seeing that he continued to ignore her, she hurriedly walked over to him. Before she could get close, she was hit with a heavy scent of alcohol.
How much had he drunk?
Xia Wan’an frowned. After arriving at Han Jingnian’s side, she extended her hand to pull him up. It was then that she realized he was drunk to the point of helplessness, so drunk he couldn’t even stand up on his own.
It’s a wonder he was able to find his way home in such a state.
While she was internally exclaiming, Xia Wan’an struggled to haul Han Jingnian off the ground and dragged him into the bedroom, dumping him onto the bed.
The little kitten joyfully followed behind Xia Wan’an, jumped onto the bed and circled around Han Jingnian twice. When the kitten got nose to nose with Han Jingnian, it sneezed from the alcoholic fumes and promptly jumped off the bed, running out of the bedroom.
"Drinking so much even the kitten can’t stand it, that’s impressive!" Xia Wan’an muttered, panting from exertion. She was about to turn around and search for a hangover remedy in the medicine box to give to Han Jingnian when he grabbed her arm out of the blue: "I’m sorry..."
The sudden three words from Han Jingnian took Xia Wan’an aback.
"I’m sorry, I’m sorry..."
Even as he laid on the bed, thoroughly drunk, he kept muttering these three words. After an unknown number of apologies, Xia Wan’an finally snapped out of her trance. Just as she was about to shake off his grip, a faint pull from him toppled the off-guard Xia Wan’an onto him.
"I’m sorry, I’m sorry..." He continued to mutter on like a broken record.
What has gotten into him? Why is he apologizing over and over, and who are these apologies for?
Faced with Xia Wan’an’s bewilderment, Han Jingnian’s murmured words finally shifted: "I’m such a mess...it’s all my fault..."
"I won’t behave like this again... never again... I’m sorry..." With that, the often vocal Han Jingnian finally quieted down.
Thinking that Han Jingnian’s drunken ramblings were finally over, Xia Wan’an attempted to wriggle out of his arms. However, his voice, tainted with the smell of alcohol, echoed above her once more: "Can you forgive me?"
What does he mean by that?
Xia Wan’an was utterly puzzled and furrowed her brow.
"Will you forgive me? Forgive me..." Without waiting for a response, Han Jingnian started again.
His repeated pleas became increasingly melancholic, which saddened Xia Wan’an. Even though she had no idea what was going on, she still stretched her hand out to gently stroke his back, whispering, "Alright, alright, I forgive you..."
"Really?" "Really" "..."
With Xia Wan’an’s patient coaxing, Han Jingnian finally quieted down.
To prevent a severe hangover headache for Han Jingnian the next morning, Xia Wan’an insisted on feeding him a hangover cure before letting him sleep.
When she woke up the next day, Xia Wan’an assumed that the hungover Han Jingnian would sleep in. However, upon opening her eyes, she found herself alone. After a quick morning wash-up, she headed to the dining room for breakfast only to find...
