Chapter 459: Chapter 459: Silence is Golden at This Moment (1)_1
...
Although their flight was scheduled for six o’clock on Tuesday evening, Han Jingnian and Xia Wan’an did not go to the office on Tuesday.
In the morning, after Han Jingnian woke up, the first thing he did after brushing his teeth was to put on a HelloKitty apron and cook breakfast.
Xia Wan’an woke up naturally around ten thirty in the morning. After breakfast together, Han Jingnian tackled the washing up while Xia Wan’an pulled out a large suitcase from the storage room to start packing for their upcoming journey.
Little Mirror, their cat, seemed to sense that they were going on a long trip; it hovered around Xia Wan’an, occasionally dragging out the clothes she had put in the suitcase and throwing them all over the floor. From time to time it would sneak into the suitcase. When Xia Wan’an found it, it would meow and slip away. As soon as she turned her back, it would slyly sneak back in.
After Han Jingnian finished washing the dishes, he picked up a file and sat down on the sofa to work. From time to time he’d glance at the girl and the cat locked in a hilarious tug-of-war. A smile quietly spread across his lips.
Although Xia Wan’an and Han Jingnian didn’t talk about it, the atmosphere at this moment, the silence that spoke volumes, was both tender and peaceful.
At four o’clock in the afternoon, Zhang Te, their assistant, was waiting dutifully in the underground parking lot.
At five past four, Xia Wan’an, dragging a large suitcase, and Han Jingnian, empty-handed, came out of the elevator.
Upon seeing this scene, Zhang Te couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow.
Wasn’t Han, who he usually travelled with, leaving it to him to handle the luggage again? Why didn’t he know how to handle a suitcase when he was traveling with his wife?
Thinking this, the ever-concerned Zhang Te quickly pulled out his phone and texted Han Jingnian, "Mr. Han, how can you let a girl carry the luggage?"
Through the car window, Zhang Te watched Han Jingnian pull out his phone expressionlessly. He glanced at the screen, frowned, frowned again; then he stepped forward, took the suitcase from Xia Wan’an and the small bag she was carrying as well.
Seeing that Han Jingnian could understand his message with just one text, Zhang Te was relieved. However, that relief lasted only three seconds before a trace of melancholy seeped into his gaze.
He wondered, if he weren’t by Han Jingnian’s side in the future, would the next assistant be as meticulous as he was... taking care of every detail for him?
The car window was knocked on: Han Jingnian and Xia Wan’an had arrived at the car.
Zhang Te quickly snapped back to reality, unlocked the car, called out "Mr. Han, Madam" in his usual obsequious manner, opened the car doors for them, and waited until they were ensconced before he put the suitcase in the trunk.
Because it was a weekday afternoon, the roads to the airport were unusually clear. Zhang Te kept an eye on the time during the trip; seeing that there was still some time before boarding, he feigned running out of petrol and swung into a nearby petrol station.
After refueling, it was already nearly five o’clock. There was just an hour left before the plane took off. When Zhang Te hurried to the airport, it was already ten past five. Just managing to check-in the luggage and get through the boarding procedures, Zhang Te scurried with Han Jingnian and Xia Wan’an toward the security check.
"Mr. Han, Madam, due to time constraints, after you pass the security check, please go directly to gate C30 for boarding."
Han Jingnian took the passports and tickets held between the pages from Zhang Te, giving a faint nod to indicate understanding.
As Han Jingnian and Xia Wan’an stepped into the security screening area, Zhang Te couldn’t help but call out once more, "Mr. Han..."
