Chapter 291: Chapter 291: Where there is an Uncle, there is a Nephew (1)_1
Originally, Song Youman, who was determined to fight Han Jingnian to the death, glanced towards the door upon hearing some movement. After seeing Han Zhijin, the grip on her fruit fork tightened abruptly. She immediately looked away and silently began eating her fruit.
Han Zhijin, carrying a bunch of fresh flowers and several bags of nutritional supplements, saw Song Youman as soon as he entered the room. He felt a burn tingling in his ears, causing him to swallow before calling out, "Uncle... Auntie..."
Looking at Song Youman again, Han Zhijin found himself nervously tightening his grip on the flowers he was carrying. After a brief pause, he managed to say, "... Youman, you’re here too."
At Han Zhijin’s greeting, Han Jingnian gave him a glance but remained silent.
Xia Wan’an got up and accepted the flowers and supplements from Han Zhijin, beckoning him to sit down.
Song Youman continued eating her fruit as if she hadn’t heard what Han Zhijin had said, her eyes focused intently on the plate in front of her.
"Uncle, how’s your health?"
Han Jingnian nodded slightly, mumbling a response.
"And Auntie? I heard you were running a fever, are you better now?"
"I’m all right now..." Xia Wan’an took a new fruit fork and handed it to Han Zhijin, "Would you like some fruit?"
After thanking her and taking the fruit fork, Han Zhijin picked up a slice of watermelon.
While he was eating, he glanced at Song Youman across from him. She was stuffing fruit into her mouth, her face calm and her eyes lowered.
But ... she was eating kiwi, a fruit she usually didn’t like.
Han Zhijin turned the fruit plate around, placing the side with more pineapples in front of Song Youman.
"How’s the company doing?"
Upon hearing Han Jingnian’s question, Han Zhijin hurriedly responded.
Afterwards, Han Jingnian and Han Zhijin discussed the company’s affairs.
Xia Wan’an was leaning on the sofa half asleep while listening; Song Youman, absent-minded, was aimlessly doodling on the table with her fruit fork.
By the time the two finished discussing work, nearly half an hour had passed.
Seeing that his uncle had no more questions, Han Zhijin turned to look at Song Youman only to find that she hadn’t touched any of the fruit he’d turned her way.
Confused, he frowned and asked, "Youman, why aren’t you eating your fruit?"
Upon hearing him, Song Youman threw the fruit fork in her hand towards the nearby trash bin then turned and said to Xia Wan’an, "An’an, it’s getting late. I have something to do tonight. I should be going."
"I’ll walk you out." Xia Wan’an got up with Song Youman, arm in arm, and headed towards the door.
Xia Wan’an accompanied Song Youman all the way to the elevator. After watching Song Youman step into the elevator, Xia Wan’an then headed back to the ward.
She hadn’t walked more than a few steps when she bumped into a hurrying Han Zhijin.
"Auntie, I’m leaving too..." Han Zhijin saw the elevator doors open in the distance and quickly left his farewell. Before Xia Wan’an could respond, he dashed into the elevator.
Upon exiting the hospital building, Han Zhijin looked around quickly from the entrance, then hurried after Song Youman who was getting close to her car.
Just as Song Youman had begun to open the car door, Han Zhijin called out to her, "Youman!"
Song Youman paused in opening the door and turned to look at Han Zhijin. Somewhat impatiently, she asked, "What?"
Han Zhijin, who was often scolded by Song Youman, carefully looked her over from head to toe, "Is it that time of the month for you?"
