After Xie Lin left, Xia Wan’an looked at the bewildered look on Han Jingnian’s face as he woke up. Her heart softened unexpectedly, and her voice was a little softer when she spoke, "Do you want to sleep a bit longer?"

Han Jingnian shook his head and struggled to sit up.

Xia Wan’an rushed to support him and raised the back of the bed, "Do you want some water?"

Han Jingnian nodded slightly, but his gaze fell on Xia Wan’an’s fair neck, where there were several bruises that he had pinched.

When Xia Wan’an poured a cup of warm water and handed it to Han Jingnian, she saw that he didn’t take it. She gave him a puzzled look, and upon seeing his gaze transfixed on her neckline, she blushed slightly and lowered her head to make sure her collar was sufficiently high to prevent any accidental exposure, before calming down, "What’s wrong?"

At her words, Han Jingnian returned to his senses. He took the cup of water but placed it on the table next to him instead of drinking it. His gaze fell back to Xia Wan’an’s neck and after staring intently for a moment, he patted the spot next to him lightly, indicating for Xia Wan’an to sit.

Although confused, Xia Wan’an obediently sat down by his bed.

Just as she made herself comfortable, Han Jingnian’s bandaged fingertips gently touched her neck.

The slight touch sent a tingling sensation through her, causing Xia Wan’an to stiffen. She then felt his fingertips slowly moving across her neck.
