Chapter 205: Chapter 205: A Sudden Change in the Drawing Style (1)_1

...

Xia Wan’an has three small villas on the outskirts of the city’s northern side.

She bought them the year she graduated from college, but it wasn’t until the end of last year that she finally received the properties.

As the villas were fully furnished, Xia Wan’an only needed to buy some additional furniture to move in.

The three villas she purchased are lined up side by side. However, when Xia Wan’an fully furnished them last year, she only furnished the middle one. The villas are not very spacious. Even with two floors, they have less floor area than Han Jingnian’s apartment. But what Xia Wan’an was drawn to was the quiet, beautiful environment where the villas were located, making them perfect for holidays.

She decided to buy all three villas at once because the developer was facing an economic crisis at the time and had lowered the housing prices substantially to speed up sales. Additionally, the villas were conveniently located on Lin Lake, and Xia Wan’an, desiring the entire mini garden gifted by the lakeside, decided to purchase all three villas.

The day she left Han Jingnian’s house, Xia Wan’an flagged down a taxi. However, when the driver asked her for her destination, she found herself at a loss for a moment.

She really wanted to return home, but she was afraid it would worry her parents. She also thought about seeking out Song Youman, but it seemed like she had leaned on Youman every time she was in a bad mood over the past few years.

Not wanting to bring down her friend on a perfectly good weekend, she asked the driver to take her to her small villa in the suburbs after much deliberation.

In the week following, Xia Wan’an found herself holed up in her little villa.

She was truly distraught the first day. She barely ate anything and sheepishly stayed in bed all day. Whenever she thought about the things Han Jingnian had said, her eyes would well up with tears from time to time.

The second day was different. She decided to pull herself together and started cleaning the place where she planned to stay for a while. She shopped at a nearby plant market, ordering plenty of greenery and flowers and even bought some vegetable seeds. That night, as Xia Wan’an was showering, she noticed the marks on her body from two days ago still hadn’t faded, which brought back the overwhelming sadness once more.

On the third day, Xia Wan’an woke up early, quickly ate breakfast, and began planting vegetables and planting roses in the small garden along the lake herself.

After a full day of labor, she slept exceptionally soundly that evening.

On the fourth day, Xia Wan’an strolled around the nearby park. She brought home a pot full of blooming Gardenia flowers, placing it by the villa window. When the wind blew in from the lake, the sweet scent of the Gardenia perfumed the entire room.

On the fifth, sixth, and seventh days, Xia Wan’an did not leave the villa, focusing solely on completing her design drafts.

Only on the eighth day’s evening, which was last night, did Xia Wan’an pick up her phone again after neglecting it for a week.

The phone continually buzzed for two full minutes before it finally became quiet.

There were over 999+ messages on WeChat, from Song Youman, Han Zhijin, and Xia Chen’an, as well as messages in the design department group chat.

The messages from Song Youman, Han Zhijin, and Xia Chen’an were all asking where she’d gone, but the messages in the design department group chat attracted Xia Wan’an’s attention.

Colleague A: "What do we do? I’m too scared to go to the office."

Colleague C: "I’m also scared, I’m so afraid..."

Colleague D posted a picture: "Do I still look as charming and beautiful as a flowering branch in this state?"

"..."

In just a short week, why had the tone of the chat in her department group changed so drastically?
