Upon hearing Xia Wan’an’s words, Xiaochen immediately leaned in to whisper into her ear, "He’s here."

"Oh no, does this mean he knows I’m late again?" Xia Wan’an shuddered at the thought of losing her perfect attendance award this month again, which caused her a great deal of distress.

To soothe herself, she decided to sleep in for the rest of the month. The attendance award was gone anyway, and a little more deduction from her salary wouldn’t hurt at this point!

After whispering to Xiaochen, Xia Wan’an switched on her computer and saw Gu Yuzhi emerging from his office.

Her marriage to Han Jingnian was a secret to the public, so when she joined the Han Family’s company, no one knew about her relationship with Han Jingnian.

After graduating from college, Xia Wan’an had worked at three different companies. The first one knew she was the heiress to the Xia Family and therefore treated her with extreme care, even using her connections to establish numerous collaborations. She resigned as soon as she found out about this.

From her first experience, she chose to hide her family background in her second job. To avoid similar troubles, she didn’t inform anyone about her personal affairs when she joined the Han Family’s business.

So in Gu Yuzhi’s eyes, she was just an ordinary college graduate. As a result, she was constantly scolded for her routine tardiness.

Xia Wan’an knew she was in for another scolding so she instinctively lowered her head and adopted an apologetic look.

To her surprise, Gu Yuzhi did not berate her as usual when he approached her, but instead asked with concern, "Xiaoxia, why are you late today? Are you feeling unwell?"

Xia Wan’an blinked hard at her pink keyboard: "..."

Did she hear that right? Boss Gu didn’t scold her? Was this a new way of chiding her?

Xia Wan’an remained anxious for a while, before she managed to smile at Gu Yuzhi and say, "No, Boss, I’m fine."

"Hmm, good. If anything is amiss, remember to tell me," Gu Yuzhi said this then walked away.

Xia Wan’an was taken aback. Was Boss Gu...out of sorts?

She didn’t pay much attention to this incident.

She assumed that Gu Yuzhi was just in a good mood and decided to let her off for being late.

However, at noon, when she was taking her usual nap on the table, Gu Yuzhi brought her a blanket, "Xiaoxia, you might catch a cold sleeping like this. Cover yourself with this blanket, it will be better."

In the afternoon, she went to the pantry to make some hot water. Gu Yuzhi walked in and said, "Xiaoxia, do you want some hot water? I just boiled some, here, have some..."

Xia Wan’an politely thanked Gu Yuzhi but once she returned to her seat and stared into the steaming cup of hot water, she turned serious.

In the afternoon, at five o’clock, Ai Jiang ordered a coffee delivery and stepped out of the building pretending to pick it up.

Outside the Han Family building, her eyes immediately fell on the Ferrari on the roadside – it was Gu Yuzhi’s girlfriend’s car.

After receiving her coffee, Ai Jiang took off the packaging and threw it straight into the trash can. Holding the cup, she started walking back towards the building. Just as she took a few steps, she pretended to accidently spill the coffee all over herself. She then let out a shriek and pretended to be in a state of utter confusion. After looking around for a bit, she reluctantly knocked on the window of the Ferrari.
