Thinking of the strain each time when she carries grocery bags, she can’t help but snap at Han Jingnian, "Done washing the dishes? Done? Accompany me to the supermarket."

Han Jingnian looks at Xia Wan’an in disbelief like he’s heard something extraordinary.

With one hand pushing the shopping cart trailing behind Xia Wan’an, he digs out his phone and sees a call coming in from assistant Zhang Te.

"Mr. Han, Young Master Zhijin’s car has been delivered to the 4S shop. The repair costs have already been deducted from your card..."

"Mm."

"Well, if that’s all, I will..." Zhang Te has not finished speaking when he suddenly hears on Han Jingnian’s end, "purchase over two hundred yuan for a dishwashing liquid at 9.9 yuan", his words stop abruptly, then he curiously asks, "Mr. Han, where are you at? It sounds chaotic..."

Distracted by the noise, Han Jingnian frowns, takes his phone away from his ear, and hangs up directly.

On the other end of the call, Zhang Te rubs his nose which got smashed into a glass window in surprise while being relieved that his reflexes were fast enough to prevent his phone from dropping.

Pocketing his phone, Han Jingnian notices that Xia Wan’an is no longer in sight and looks around anxiously. He spots her standing in front of a row of shelves selecting toiletries like toilet paper and tissues.

Quickening his pace, he reaches Xia Wan’an’s side just as the girl is standing on her tiptoes and trying to reach an item from the topmost shelf.

Watching the girl’s face turn rosy in her struggle, Han Jingnian’s eyes soften involuntarily.

"Excuse me, can you please help me get...." After several futile attempts, Xia Wan’an seeks the help of a sales guide.

The guide she had called over, however, turns away without reaching her, deterred by the frosty stare of Han Jingnian.

"Excuse me, can you please..." Before Xia Wan’an can finish her sentence, the attendant makes an excuse of tidying up diapers nearby and runs off towards a pile of watermelons in the distance.

Bewildered, Xia Wan’an is about to call for another attendant when Han Jingnian casually takes down the item she wanted and places it in her shopping cart.

Thanking him, Xia Wan’an mumbles about the unprofessional attitude of the supermarket staff and considers Han Jingnian’s utility beyond being a labourer and bodyguard - he can also serve as a reach extender...

As this thought crosses her mind, Xia Wan’an realizes what Han Jingnian had just helped her with. Instantly, her face turns red.

Han Jingnian, perplexed by Xia Wan’an’s sudden blush, looks down into the shopping cart. The words "Extra Long Night Use Sanitary Pads" make his ears burn.
