Chapter 106: Chapter 106 The Last Tenderness (2)_1
You’re being cruel to me today, but tomorrow, you’ll regret it.
After throwing out that sentence, He Che didn’t even glance at Ai Jiang again as he briskly walked away.
His glasses lay before him on the ground, a gift from Ai Jiang, but he didn’t stop to pick them up. Instead, he stepped on them, crushing the frame and shattering the lenses.
Once He Che left, the bathroom entrance became eerily silent.
Perhaps out of guilt, Ai Jiang was unsure what to do next. She glanced furtively at Han Zhijin, then began sobbing even more pitifully as she wiped her tears. "I don’t know who he is, I don’t know him at all..."
"When I came out of the bathroom, he just grabbed me and started saying things I didn’t understand...I told him I didn’t know him, but he wouldn’t let me go..."
Ai Jiang cried as if she had been wronged in the worst way possible.
"Are you hurt anywhere?" Han Zhijin finally spoke up.
"No, I’m not..." Ai Jiang’s tears streamed down her face.
"Stop crying, Youman and Wan An are waiting for you. I’ll wash my hands and accompany you back," said Han Zhijin as he moved towards the sink.
On their way back, Han Zhijin glanced at the still sobbing Ai Jiang, hesitated for a while, but couldn’t help asking, "Ai Jiang, are you sure you don’t know that man?"
"I don’t know him," Ai Jiang shook her head, "I still don’t understand why he said those things to me..."
She paused, then continued in a weak voice, "He even pinned me against the wall and ripped my clothes..."
Upon hearing the words ’ripped my clothes’, Han Zhijin looked at Ai Jiang’s torn blouse, suddenly feeling that he might’ve overthought.
If she knew that man, she wouldn’t go as far as ripping her own clothes, right? What he said, however, was quite unsettling...
Recalling his words, Han Zhijin ventured: "Perhaps he mistook you for someone else. His words sounded like they were meant for a woman who’d left her husband."
Before Ai Jiang could answer, Han Zhijin changed the topic, "Anyway, it’s fine. Youman and Wan An are just worried about you. If something had happened to you, they would definitely blame me..."

Eleven o’clock. The airport.
After returning from a business trip, Zhang Te got into the car and automatically asked Han Jingnian in the back seat, "Sir, where to?"
"Home," Han Jingnian answered without hesitation.
Zhang Te remained silent and stepped on the gas, heading towards the city.
Halfway through the journey, while waiting at a traffic light, Zhang Te checked his WeChat and noticed a familiar figure in a photo that Han Zhijin had posted in his Moments. He couldn’t help mentioning this to Han Jingnian, "Sir, it seems like Madam is with Young Master Zhijin."
Han Jingnian didn’t say anything, but his gaze sharply fixated on Zhang Te.
Zhang Te quickly handed his phone to Han Jingnian, "Look here, Sir. In this photo, is this girl sleeping snugly on the arm of this woman in white, your wife? It’s interesting that she went to a bar like MIX, not for a wild party, but to sleep."
