Chapter 71: What a beautiful place to be in

Touring the Zhu Mansion during Heaven’s idle time came in handy, using this knowledge to hide and avoid Dominic Zhu. As the cat-and-mouse game continued, Heaven had an unnecessary thought.

If the original Heaven was clever enough, she didn’t need to stay in her room to avoid Dominic. All she needed was to know every corner of this house. Then she could walk around without even seeing his shadow.

The Zhu Mansion was a multi-million mansion situated in the metropolis. It was a six-floor mansion with a variety of rooms for all sorts of things, but what she found most impressive was her own elegant boudoir which she found out only after her house tour, the enclosed gazebo located near the garden to embrace nature, and this cozy room found in the roof deck where she was currently at.

"But then again, it’s not the house that is the case." She lazed around the couch, looking around the room she was in. She could see the outdoor furnishes through the transparent walls, propping her jaw against her knuckles.

’Heaven was a prisoner of her own mind. There’s that. No wonder how impressive this house was, she wouldn’t appreciate it.’ Heaven spread her arms to the couch’s headrest, almost melting on the wide sofa. "That’s another minus point for her."

She nodded in agreement, justifying the soul’s existence. Not that she felt guilty for Heaven, but it made her feel better stealing everything the original Heaven had if the latter was undeserving.

"Now that I think about it, wouldn’t he come to me?" Heaven frowned, looking back from the couch to check the entrance. She had been in here for a little while, but Dominic hadn’t reached her.

Did something happen?

Deep lines appeared between her brows, wondering what could’ve happened. Even though she made sure Dominic wouldn’t catch up to her, she didn’t try her hardest to run or hide. She made sure she left traces of her.

In other words, he should’ve known where she went.

"Did he decide to forget about it?" her frown deepened. That possibility wasn’t impossible, considering Dominic had quite a day. "Dang it!"

Heaven immediately crossed her arms under her chest, pouting. ’Does this mean I’m waiting for nothing? What a bummer!’

The moment Heaven caught Dominic getting out of the tub, she knew exactly where to go. She simply went around, detouring to tire him out slightly so he would be exhausted when he caught her. Who would have thought he would give up?!

"No, no." She shook her head profusely. "Maybe he just went to pee or rested."

Who would believe that?

Considering the fiery look in Dominic’s eyes, Heaven was certain he wouldn’t stop until he pinned her down underneath him. She would not mistake that look. Heaven had seen so many types of gaze as she often looked at other people’s eyes.

There were those who looked at her with contempt, burning hatred, admiration, desire, lust, and the sort. Therefore, she wouldn’t mistake that eager look in Dominic’s eyes.

"Just what sort of game did he think now?" she wondered, humming a long tune as she pondered what sort of scheme Dominic thought of. "Did he think chasing me is too tiring? And now, he is thinking... to catch prey by setting up traps?"

The corner of her lips stretched from ear to ear, chuckling with her lips closed. "It seemed my husband knows a little about hunting. I guess we have more something in common than we thought."

Heaven idled, thinking about what sort of trap Dominic laid to catch his prey. Different scenarios played in her mind, considering all possibilities. She came up with a few and she also came up with plans.

"Well, I don’t really need plans." She planted her hand on her thigh, pushing herself up. "Even if he catches me, the worst thing he can do is bite me a little. Even that is a turn-on, to be fair. It’s not like he will fuck me until I split in half."

With that thought in mind, Heaven marched toward the exit, only to stop as she held the knob. Heaven slowly turned her head and then strutted toward the outdoor area of the roof deck. Heaven furrowed her brows.

Unlike the enclosed space on the roof deck, the outdoor had a fire pit, tables and chairs, and anything for one chill night. She looked up and the beautiful sky full of stars welcomed her eyes.

Her lips parted in awe.

’What a beautiful place to be in,’ she thought as the stars mirrored in her eyes, giving them a unique twinkle. ’I should take Basti here sometimes. Perhaps we can camp and stargaze — I think he will like it.’

It didn’t even cross her that Sebastian had been in this house since he was born. What made her think Basti didn’t know the beauty and uses of the roof deck?

Heaven smiled before peeling her gaze from the glorious sight of the thousand suns. "I think the last time I stargaze was when I was a kid with Dad. It’ll be fun to do it again with my son," was what she was saying when she caught an ashtray from the corner of her eyes.

Heaven turned her head, setting her eyes on the empty ashtray on the surrounding surface of the fire pit. Axel would come over to their house for a few days or a week, every few months. Thus, all the ashtrays in the mansion were his.

However...

Her eyes fell on the floor near the firepit and the chair, only to see a few cigarette butts lying around.

’When was the last time Axel came over here?’she asked herself. Heaven was unsure of the length of time, but she knew Axel hadn’t been in the mansion since the soul had arrived.

She casually approached the chair, sitting on it. ’It’s slightly warm,’ she thought as she rested her back against the chair.

’If there’s still a lingering warmth, don’t tell me there was someone here before I arrived?’ A strong sense of dread and hostility crept up her spine at the thought of another person on the roof deck aside from her.
