Chapter 706: Light

[PRESENT TIME]

Heaven managed to soothe Dominic that night by working extra hard. After all, Dominic was never satisfied with just one orgasm. He had to take her to bed and lavish her like a starving hound to his meat.

’I hope the rumor hasn’t reached him yet,’ she thought while shaking her head, sincerely hoping it hadn’t. ’I’m sure it hasn’t. I mean, even if this rumor reached Axel’s office, he’d be too horrified to relay the news to his brother.’

Knowing Axel and that this rumor had only started last night in a group chat, Heaven knew it was still too early. Considering Dominic was a little preoccupied with his campaign, he wouldn’t have the time to inquire about office gossip.

That thought gave her some relief. Dominic would only hear office gossip from her. If she didn’t mention it, then he wouldn’t know.

’We promised to stay transparent, but, oh well,’ Heaven mentally shrugged and nodded. ’He wouldn’t hold a grudge against me even if he finds out in the future. I mean, it’s not like this is important. Compared to his campaign and our problem with Dragon, this is too trivial to even pay attention to.’

"Pepsi, are you okay?" Belle, who had been casting her a look from time to time, couldn’t help but ask. "You’ve suddenly turned silent and kept nodding on your own."

Heaven slowly looked at Belle and smiled. "Yes, I’m okay... a little. I mean, my husband won’t know about this if I don’t tell him."

"You’re saying you’ve been telling your husband about the gossip?"

"Of course! Isn’t that normal?"

"Well, I wouldn’t know since I’ve been single for months now."

"My husband and I agreed to keep a transparent relationship." Heaven smiled proudly. "Even so, he was upset when I told him about my colleagues misunderstanding my relationship with my brother. So, I’m pretty sure he’d be upset if he heard that I’m being linked with the Second Young Master Zhu. We both know that’s not true."

Belle pressed her lips together while assessing her colleague for a moment. The corner of her lips curled up a little as her eyes shone with admiration.

’I’m sure her husband will be upset if he hears his wife is being mistaken for being with the Second Young Master,’ Belle mentally chuckled at the thought. Not that she belittled Heaven’s husband, but more like she would also be upset if she were in Heaven’s husband’s position.

After all, the current CEO of the Lyon Group was handsome, smart, and wealthy. Axel made sure everyone knew that because he was the only CEO in the company who used the main entrance. The previous CEO, Dominic Zhu, was rarely seen around the building. Dominic had his own elevator and path that was connected straight to the CEO’s office.

In other words, Axel was truly dreamy. Although Heaven rarely talked about her husband and vaguely gave information about him, she would usually gloat about how amazing he was. But for Belle, unless Heaven’s husband was Dominic Zhu, no one would beat Axel Zhu in terms of influence and wealth. Perhaps looks as well.

"You really love your husband, huh?" Belle blurted out with a soft smile on her face. Her sudden remark made Heaven’s eyebrows raise. "If not, I don’t see the reason you think these current rumors aren’t beneficial."

Heaven smacked her lips and shrugged. "Of course. My husband is my first and last love. I wouldn’t have children with him if I didn’t." She slowly looked away from Belle as she stared at the closed door.

Her eyes slowly softened, while her expression relaxed. "My children and him... mean the world to me. I would never trade them for anything."

Hearing Heaven’s soft and emotional sentiment, Belle smiled subtly. Heaven was usually cheerful, and this was the first time she had this look on her face. Therefore, Belle understood that even if the rumors weren’t that bad, Heaven was still a married woman. She loved her husband with or without him around.

"I’m seeing you in a different light now," Belle mused, earning a look from Heaven and returning it with a proud grin. "I don’t know much, but I’m sure even without as much wealth as the Zhu’s, you have a lovely home."

[Art Department]

While Belle had seen Heaven in a different light, everyone in the art department was also seeing a different kind of light. This light was mesmerizing, but somehow, it made them feel as if they were gazing upon the pearly gates that would lead them to the afterlife.

Just moments ago, they were all engaged in gossip involving the CEO of the company and the errand girl in their department. Even when some of their colleagues came back, the conversation continued, with more participants offering their guesses and insights. But now, everyone in the art department had their eyes fixed on the entrance where a man stood. Shock, confusion, and a hint of nervousness shone brightly in their eyes.

At this moment, they had only one question in mind:

What was Dominic Zhu doing here?

"Am I disrupting your operation?" After a moment of profound silence, Dominic’s monotonous and cool voice echoed in the art department. "I can leave if so."

"Ahem! Haha! Of course not, CEO — Young Master — I mean, future minister Zhu!" Mister Yang, who managed to recover despite his shock, hurriedly went to Dominic. He rubbed his hands nervously, maintaining a wide and friendly smile. "Anyway, may I know what you are doing in this department? I mean, of course, you don’t have to answer me, but I can assist you properly if I know—"

"Can I sit in?" Dominic’s sharp eyes made Mister Yang’s breath hitch. He was just asking normally, but Mister Yang felt like crying.

"Su—sure! Of course. Why don’t you sit in my office?" Mister Yang offered nervously.

"It’s fine. I’ll just sit and wait here." Dominic waved dismissively as he marched in. He stopped after just a few steps, furrowing his brows when he noticed that all the seats in front of him had been empty. Just a second ago, these seats were occupied, but when he blinked, all the people were gone, and they now stood to the side.

"Hehe. Mister Zhu, you can take any seat you want," Mister Yang grinned as he motioned his hand to the countless chairs before them.

Dominic glanced at the seats and then at the people in the art department. "Never mind. I do not intend to disrupt your work. I’ll just stay in the corner. Please don’t mind me."

With that said, Dominic moved back until he found a spot to rest. He leaned his back against the wall, arms crossed, and his facial features were as sharp as ever.

"Go on," he repeated as he moved his hand a little. "Please don’t mind me. Pretend I’m not here."

How could they not mind him and pretend he wasn’t there when his presence alone wasn’t meant to be ignored?!
