Chapter 333: [Bonus Chapter]That night

Meeting Hera for the first time left Heaven with nothing but countless questions. Heaven couldn’t believe looking at herself from a different angle, and fortunately, Hera was there to clarify some things for her.

"So, I died, huh?" Heaven whispered while Hera nodded. "Okay."

Hera arched a brow as she cast the woman a side-eye, catching the slight relief plastered on Heaven’s face. "Fascinating you are."

"Hmm?"

"You seemed relieved to be murdered. I’ve never seen such things."

"Dying means I don’t have to feel any more pain." Heaven shrugged, setting her eyes back to her body on the bed. "And I don’t have to hurt others as well."

"You mean your husband?"

"My son."

"But you didn’t seem to care about him, though?"

"Huh?’ Heaven furrowed her brows, turning her head in Hera’s direction. "How did you know that?"

"I’ve been watching you for quite some time now."

"Are you..." Heaven bit her lips as she covered her mouth. "... my guardian angel?"

"Yes."

"Really?"

"No." Hera rolled her eyes, sauntering toward the bed before throwing her bottom on the edge. "Do I look like an angel to you, dear?"

Hera flipped her bouncy large curls away from her shoulder, resting her long leg over the other that displayed the slit of her dress that reached up to her thigh.

"No?" Heaven blurted out, studying this beautiful goddess before her. "You look like a devil who lures people into committing sins."

"Hahaha!" Hera burst out in laughter, making Heaven’s brows elevate. "Bless your heart, girl. If we’re both alive, you would offend some people by saying that."

"Who?"

"Just some crazy bunch." Hera leaned back, resting her hand on the mattress, head turned in the body’s direction. "How pitiful. Look at your tongue. It’s out. Fortunately, I didn’t see what I look like when I died. I will freak out."

"Why?"

"Why? Can’t you see what you look like?"

"I mean, why didn’t you see your body when you died?"

"Ah... well, I immediately fell into my destination."

"Destination," Heaven repeated under her breath, looking at Hera with plain curiosity. "What destination are you talking about? In here?"

"And why would I go in here?" Hera cocked her gaze back to Heaven. "I went to hell."

"What?"

"But they kicked me out, so I ended up becoming a wandering soul. It was almost boring even though I went around the world at least fifty times."

"You... went around the world?"

"Mhm." Hera nodded in a lazy manner. "I already traveled the world when I was alive, but I can travel much faster now without any hindrances."

Heaven pursed her lips into a thin line, thinking that sounded fun.

"It’s not that fun." Hera guessed what the other woman was thinking, pointing at Heaven. "Well, you might find it fun since you took your death quite well."

’Is that sarcasm?’ Heaven bit her tongue from speaking, peeking at Hera, who was now staring at her body. "Why are you here, then?"

"Hmm?"

"If you were kicked out of hell just as you mentioned, why are you watching a stranger? Instead of watching over your family?"

A moment of silence befell the room as Hera kept her attention on the body while Heaven was on Hera.

"Because I find your destruction fascinating and annoyingly distracting enough while those guys just break my heart." Hera’s tone this time was quiet, but clear enough to reach Heaven. "I thought I had prepared them enough for my death, but it seemed no amount of preparation could prevent them from hurting. Silly me."

From the moment she met Hera until that question, Heaven thought Hera was just a dangerous soul who had some unfinished business. But hearing her voice now with a tone laced with utter sadness changed Heaven’s perspective on this woman.

"At least, someone grieved for you," Heaven said, warranting a look from the other woman. "Isn’t that what life is? You live and then die with people who loved you grieving your death. That’s better than dying with people celebrating your death instead."

"Who told you no one celebrated my death?"

"Huh?"

"Compared to the people who grieved for me, the amount of people who celebrated it is something you won’t be able to imagine," Hera smirked, letting out a dry laugh. "Not that I care about that, but you seemed to care about that."

"Well..." Heaven shrugged. "I can’t help it. I hurt many people."

Hera blinked ever so tenderly, setting her eyes back to Heaven. "You’re stupid, are you?"

"What?"

"The people you’re referring to are your son and husband, right?"

"Just... my son. But well, probably Dominic too."

"Poor them." Hera shook her head, collapsing on the bed with her back. "Heaven Liu is so stupid and I feel sorry for them."

"Your words are hurtful, you know?"

"They hurt because it was the truth." Hera moved her head to the side, eyes down to where Heaven stood. "You’re stupid for being so close-minded. Did you really think your husband and son are so heartless they will celebrate your death?"

"Well..."

"What you are saying... are the things you’d feel or want to believe. People like you are the people I hate the most. Those who lived in pity, mishandling people and then never taking accountability for their actions, and still have the gall to say it was for everyone’s peace. What a hypocrite."

Hera floated up and posed in a sitting position with her legs over the other, arms crossed under her healthy mounds. "Heaven Liu, the problem with you is how your mind works. The root of your misery is not the people around you, but you."

Heaven gulped, as she couldn’t look away from Hera. For some reason, everything that was coming out of Hera’s mouth was hurtful, but she couldn’t argue with her. How could she argue with Hera when Hera was just speaking facts?

"Do you want me to prove my point to you?" Hera cocked her head to the side while Heaven furrowed her brows.

"What do you mean?"

"Let me have your life." The corner of Hera’s mouth stretched from ear to ear. "I’ve seen your husband and I won’t lie. He’s definitely my type. If I met him when I was alive, I wouldn’t mind living a double life just to seduce him. I won’t even care if he’s married or if he makes me his mistress."

"What are you..."

"What I’m saying is I am bad, Heaven Liu." Hera dawdled. "I’m not like you, and I will never be like you. I don’t care if I hurt others for my gain and selfish reason. And I always grabbed the opportunities that arise. This is an opportunity. So? What do you think?"
