Chapter 295: Low life
Chapter 295: Low life
"I’m sorry, Miss Shen. Leo Wu is still under Zyon Network, so it is hard to publish an article about Leo Wu..."
CLACK
Paula ended the call even before the person on the other end of the line could finish his sentence. She took a deep breath while maintaining her stoic countenance.
"Under Zyon Network?" A short, dry laugh escaped her mouth while her grip on her phone tightened. "Ahhh!!!"
A loud hysterical cry echoed as Paula threw her phone across the room. Her eyes were blazing, panting heavily for air as she felt her heart race in fury.
Who were they protecting? Leo Wu?
"Don’t make me laugh." Another wave of sinister laughter followed her muttering. "It’s not him."
Obviously, the Zyon Network was protecting the other person in the article, Heaven Liu.
Just the thought of it made her clench her fist until her nails were digging into her palms. Why would Dominic still protect Heaven? Didn’t he see the article? She was with another man! His wife was fooling behind his back! Even though Paula knew that wasn’t the truth, she sent pictures to the media outlet, which could be easily misunderstood.
Of course, she was aware that the public might just support Heaven and Leo. However, that wasn’t her goal. Her plan was for Dominic to see those pictures and destroy Heaven.
"Why?" she wondered to herself, forgetting that was the time Dominic joined them and Heaven had tons of evidence to prove her innocence. "Wait."
Paula bit the tip of her thumb, pacing back and forth in her messy bedroom. "Right. Of course, he will stop the article. But that doesn’t mean he wouldn’t do anything behind closed doors."
There was a bit of satisfaction that shone in her eyes at the possibility. The corner of her mouth curled up, forming a satisfied smile.
"That’s right." She nodded. "She’s still in trouble."
Her brows rose as she turned her head in her phone’s direction. Paula frowned, marching to pick up her phone. As soon as she did, the first thing she saw was the shattered screen.
"It’s because that reporter is so annoying. Now my phone is dead." She clicked her tongue in irritation, blaming the reporter she was talking to previously.
Knowing that her phone was useless at this point, Paula hurriedly went to her desk. She opened her laptop, sending her manager a message to buy her a new phone because the one she broke. After sending the message, Paula killed time by scrolling through her social media and ended up reading some articles about her.
[Paula is beautiful inside and outside. Even if the dating news isn’t true, I know she still deserves all the love.]
[We love you, Paula!]
[Paula is my goddess!]
Reading a few comments, the side of her lips curled up as her eyes softened. Her fan’s words touched her heart, giving her the warmth she desperately sought for days now. After her breakup with Primo, Paula couldn’t remember what happened the days after that. All that she remembered was she would wake up only to cry until she would fall asleep. If not for her manager, she wouldn’t even eat.
"Right..." she whispered, reading the rest of the comments. "I don’t deserve that jerk. I’m too good for him..."
Paula trailed off as she stumbled upon the other comments.
[Lol. Paula is too mediocre for someone like that businessman to take seriously.]
[Paula Shen’s fandom is so blind they couldn’t see how bad she is. Deserve everything? Well, she did deserve to be alone.]
[My cousin used to work in the set of *** and she said Paula is a diva. She’s really hard to work with. She’s trash among the trash. She deserves the title of being the trash queen!]
[Are Heaven Liu and Paula Shen still friends?]
[If they are, I really pity Heaven Liu. Or... did Paula lie about being friends with her? It’s been five years and yet, they showed no sign of contact! Heaven Liu is a little active in her account, but I don’t see any trace of them together.]
[OMG! Primo Rossi is hot! Look at these photos of Mr. Hot CEO!]
The softness that dominated her face slowly disappeared at the insensitive remarks in this thread. The numbers fighting for Paula were far too little compared to the people hating on her. There were even more good comments about Primo than about her. And this infuriated her more.
"What do they know?" she whispered, logging in to another dummy account to fight all of these people who only had the guts to say all this nonsense because they were hiding behind the screen.
[What do you know? Primo might look good, but you guys don’t know if he’s a total loser!]
[Why are you bringing up Heaven Liu here? Stop dragging a has-been! She and Paula weren’t even on the same level!]
Paula slammed her keyboards, fighting with all these haters until she was thirsty and exhausted. These people were insensitive, nasty jerks. Although Paula would normally ignore these types of hate, she couldn’t this time. She got plenty of time since she was suspended.
Those she commented on replied to her and fought her. She spent almost hours wasting her energy on them, only to realize this wouldn’t end. People were leaving nasty comments about her dummy account and her family, even though they had no idea who she was or what she looked like.
"Low lives." She scoffed, leaning back as she watched more people flood her with nasty responses.
"Paula..."
Suddenly, a voice came from behind her, making her flinch. When she looked back, Paula frowned as soon as her gaze landed on her manager.
"Can you knock?" Paula hissed, closing her laptop before getting up from her seat. "Did you buy a new phone?"
"Uh, yes." her manager looked around the room with a conflicted countenance.
Paula’s room was a mess. There were torn papers, pictures, and clothes scattered on the floor. Some instant foods, chips, and sodas could also be seen. Her room wasn’t as messy as this yesterday. It was like a tornado went inside and turned the room upside down.
Just what was going on with her?
