Chapter 275: [Bonus Chapter]PTA meeting

Friday rolled in without a condition for everyone. Heaven and Bear kept their secret hidden and acted normal while Heaven lived as a devoted wife to Dominic Zhu and a loving mother to Sebastian Zhu.

"Basti, is your mommy coming today?" a girl cupped her plumped cheek with her hands, eyes on the little boy sitting around the same square table. "Others said they saw your mommy, but I never saw her. Was she pretty?"

Sebastian slowly raised his head to the girl with pigtails. "My mommy is the prettiest."

"Really?" the little girl frowned. "But my mommy said Nana is the prettiest."

"Your mom is lying."

Her frown deepened, almost on the verge of tears. "Liar."

Sebastian glanced at his classmate, who would always sit around his table to talk to him. Not that he had anything against her, but her questions were mostly not worth it to waste energy.

"I’m sorry." He sighed, telling himself to be nice. "I think beauty depends on who is the one looking. For me, my mommy is the prettiest. But I think for your mom, you are the prettiest."

"But I want Basti to think I’m the prettiest."

"Fat chance."

"Basti..."

"I already said sorry because I want to be nice." This time, his lips curled down. "Don’t push your luck and force me to be a liar."

The little girl frowned angrily, harrumphing with her arms crossed under her chest. She looked away, ignoring Sebastian.

"Hmp! I won’t talk to you ever again!" threatened the little girl. "Unless you say sorry again and tell me I’m pretty, I will not talk to you again."

The little girl kept her head turned to the side. When she peeked at Sebastian’s spot, her brows knitted.

He was gone.

"Basti?" she blinked, looking around the playroom, only to see him leaving the playroom. "Basti!"

Sebastian ignored her call as he walked through the hallway, going back to their classroom. The teachers had moved them to the playroom, setting up their classroom because they will hold the parent-teacher meeting there.

"Basti!"

Suddenly, a boy turned up from Sebastian’s side. When the latter turned his head, he saw a boy with big glasses and chubby cheeks. The other boy had a round body and the buttons of his uniform were barely holding on.

"Are you going back to the classroom?" asked the chubby boy, tipping his eyeglasses up. "Or are you heading to the library? Everyone is still setting up the classroom, but the parents were already arriving one after another."

Sebastian slowed down in his tracks, casting his classmate a look. The latter was smiling, pointing at the window on the other side of them.

"Is your mom coming? I heard many of our classmates had seen her, but I haven’t seen Basti’s mom," said the boy eagerly. "I told my mommy about it, and she was also excited to see her."

"Why was your mom wants to see my mommy?"

"I don’t know. Maybe because your mommy never attends any parent-teacher meeting?"

"So, she’s curious?" Sebastian let out a shallow breath, turning around to approach the window.

Ever since the news that Sebastian’s mother came from abroad, many in the school had been curious about her. Not just his classmates and their parents, but also the teachers and school staff. There were times Sebastian would overhear some teachers talking about his mother.

His homeroom teacher was kind to tell her colleagues to refrain from gossiping, but Sebastian couldn’t blame them. His mother had been a mystery in school.

Back then, he heard many rumors and speculation about why his mother never appeared at school events.

Some thought Heaven had died giving birth, which explained the look of pity in their eyes whenever they looked at him. While others speculated Sebastian’s mother left him as soon as she gave birth to him.

The rumors he heard over the short years since he started school were countless. They did not even spare him from other gossip, like how other women ’adored’ his father.

Sebastian had just grown used to it, though. But now, he just wanted to see his mother.

Sebastian looked over the glass pane, only to see many adults outside the school. Some attended as couples, but there were who came without their spouses.

"Is your mom there?" the other boy inquired, peeking over the window beside Sebastian.

"No. She’s still not here."

"Are you sure she will come?" asked the boy, looking at Sebastian curiously.

"Is your mother there yet?" Instead of answering, Sebastian returned the question.

"Uh..." the boy looked outside again and shook his head. "I don’t think they will come."

"Why is that?"

"My mom and dad hadn’t been talking these days." There was a light frown on the boy’s face, but then he smiled when he faced Sebastian. "I think it’s because my father’s company is struggling. So, he was going through a lot of stress."

"Oh."

"It must be nice to be a Zhu."

Sebastian’s brows rose, cocking his head to the side. "Why would you say that?"

"Because you don’t have to think of money." The little boy sighed. "Even though my mom and dad don’t say it, I sometimes hear them talking about money. I feel sad for them. If only we have a lot of money, my dad will stay at home more often."

Sebastian just stared at the boy, barely understanding the latter’s point.

"If you have more money, I’m afraid you won’t even see a glimpse of your father’s shadow," murmured Sebastian, thinking how busy Dominic was even though he had an entire empire under his name.

Sebastian didn’t mind even if his father worked on the weekend, so he could have more time with his mother. Not to mention, Sebastian overheard Heaven saying she wanted to live in luxury. Dominic had to work himself to the bones to keep his wife happy.

"Anyway, your father’s company is a trusted one. I’m sure it will recover soon."

"I hope so too." the little boy smiled enthusiastically. "Should we go to the library? They would let the parents in soon."

"Alright." Sebastian nodded, and the two boys went to the library to wait for their homeroom teacher to call for them.
