When the elevator produced a short and loud noise, Heaven took a deep breath and stepped out of the lift with her chin high. Following behind her were Axel and Bear. Normally, they would take the elevator of the penthouse to the parking space, but Heaven chose to go through the lobby for a reason.

The parking space was too quiet and lacked people. She wanted to avoid unnecessary people — for instance, Primo — on the way.

"I’ll check the vehicle," said Bear after hastening his pace to Heaven’s side.

"Fine." Heaven only cast him one quick look, watching Bear walk separately from him. Her steps didn’t stop, heading straight to the main entrance with Axel.

"Sis, are we going straight to the department store first or...?" Axel ruffled his unruly hair, casting her a side-eye.

"I need to choose which would fit Basti best."

Axel gave her a slow clap, a bit amused by his sister-in-law. How could she always be so calm amid any situation? Until now, Axel had barely moved on from that night. Although there were still nightmares he was fighting in the night — sometimes, even during the day — the mystery that stuck in his mind was his sister-in-law.

Heaven said she practiced and trained in martial arts in the past. Therefore, she knew a thing or two about self-defense. But the more Axel spent time with her, especially in such a situation, he couldn’t help more questions from invading his mind.

"Huh?" Deep lines appeared before Heaven’s brows as they were taking the main entrance and exit of the building. Seeing this, Axel moved his eyes ahead to see what or who was the cause of Heaven’s sour mood.

"Madam Zhu!" as soon as Heaven and Axel crossed the threshold, a woman standing at the side of the building pierced their ears.

Heaven attempted to take a step back, but the woman who called her quickly reached for her hand.

"Madam Zhu, good thing you’re here! I had been waiting for you." The woman squeezed Heaven’s hand, only for Axel to slap the woman’s hand away from his sister-in-law.

"Hey!" Axel stepped between Heaven and the woman, looking at the latter with disapproval. "Who the hell — how dare you touch my sister like that, huh?! Are you her stalker?!"

"Uh... second young master..." The woman took a step back and held the hand that he slapped. "I’m sorry if that surprised you, but I just want to talk to Madam Zhu."

"Hah! Everyone wants a piece of my sister-in-law! What makes you think just because you want to talk to her, you can just grab her like that?" Axel planted his fist on his hips, fuming. "I don’t care who you are or what you want! Keep your distance from her!"

"But..."

"Speak another word and I’ll call the police for harassment!"

"Axel." Heaven planted her hand on Axel’s shoulder, making the latter look back at her.

Axel frowned deeply, obviously displeased and offended at the woman’s action. Heaven couldn’t blame him. Axel was touched in places without his consent, and he was barely recovering from it. Adding to his own trauma, he had become overprotective of his sister-in-law after that incident. Therefore, Heaven extended her patience with a smile.

"It’s okay. I think I know her." Heaven patted his shoulder, walking to his side to stand before the woman. "Aren’t you that child’s mother who bullied my son?"

"What?!" Axel’s nose flared even more as soon as he heard that additional information. "You’re that woman?! How dare you — hey, you should get out of here right now while I am asking nicely. I haven’t forgotten how your son made my nephew’s nose bleed. Come here, I’ll teach you and that child a lesson."

"Axel." Heaven cast Axel a side-eye, stopping Axel from dragging the woman. "What do you think you’re planning to do? Beat her up or what? Had you lost your morals as well?"

"What?" Axel scoffed, glaring daggers at that woman. "If I can only hit women, I would’ve done so. However, that’s my sister’s job. I will take her to the police for harassment and let her stay there for a week so she learns her lesson. This woman’s audacity is unbelievable! How dare she show up in front of us after what she had done?"

Heaven let out a deep yet faint exhale, not knowing what to feel about Axel’s remarks about hitting women. She didn’t dwell on it, though. Instead, she moved her eyes back to the woman. Heaven slowly folded her arms underneath her chest, assessing the woman from head to toe.

The woman had her head low, peeking at Axel and her with genuine fear in her eyes. Her behavior was far different from how Heaven remembered her. Back then, this woman was covered with luxury items. But now, she just looked... dirty, pitiful, and desperate.

’Considering they made my husband their enemy, I’m pretty sure Dominic crushed them to the ground.’She thought, remembering that Dominic dealt with them.

Heaven didn’t ask about them anymore because thinking about this woman’s child only infuriate Heaven. Moreover, Dominic reassured her that they would pay heavily. It was obvious Dominic did make them pay for not knowing their place.

’Sometimes, I think I don’t know my husband well,’another thought invaded Heaven’s mind as she studied the woman from up and down. ’How can this woman age overnight? She looked like a middle-aged woman now.’

"What do you want from me?" Heaven broke her momentary silence, narrowing her eyes upon seeing a bruise peek out from the woman’s sleeve. She glanced up, holding the woman’s gaze. "If this is about asking for forgiveness, then I forgave you already. Although I am not someone who forgets. Your situation right now is your own doing. I don’t have plans for helping you if that is what you seek from me."

"Madam Zhu!" the woman suddenly lept to Heaven, snatching her hand again.

"Oy!" Axel was about to intervene again when the woman held Heaven’s hand with both of her hands.

"Please..." Tears flowed from the woman’s eyes while holding Heaven’s gaze. "... help me, Madam Zhu. My husband is going to kill my son and I don’t know what to do anymore. I know I was wrong, and I didn’t teach my son properly, but... don’t let him die. Please help me ask for CEO Zhu’s help!"

"Please... please..." the woman broke down slowly, kneeling and begging on her knees while holding Heaven’s hand.

Hearing the woman’s cry for help, Heaven furrowed her brows. She glanced at Axel, only to see him wearing the same puzzled countenance while staring down at the woman.
