Chapter 230: Do not fail me

Chapter 230: Do not fail me

The only reason Heaven came into Axel’s place was to use his IP to search for details about Primo. That man rang all the alarm bells in Heaven’s brain, and thus, she couldn’t just shrug it off. Primo lived in the same place as her family and, considering his personality, Heaven was afraid that man would do something.

It wasn’t safe.

Heaven needed to be prepared.

Despite the urgency in her heart, it didn’t deter her from spending quality time with Dominic and Sebastian. Her night went on like usual, putting Sebastian to bed, and then rolling under the sheet with Dominic.

"Sleep." Heaven snapped her eyes when Dominic’s arm pulled her closer to his bare body. "It’s late."

His voice was coarse and his eyes were heavy, blinking ever so tenderly at her. "What are you thinking that you can’t sleep? Something happened at work?"

Heaven turned her head to the side, staring at his face. She slowly rolled to her side, letting his hand slide from her back to her buttocks.

"Honey," she called, receiving a low hum from the sleepy Dominic. "I think... I’m being stalked."

Dominic partially opened his eyes, having this inexplicable look on his unsmiling face. "By who?"

"I don’t know?" Heaven shrugged, pressing her lips into a thin line. "I met Paula’s friend today and, coincidentally, he lives in the same building."

"Here?"

"Yeah. On the 60th floor." Heaven frowned, sporting a conflicted look. "Am I just overreacting?"

Dominic didn’t speak for a moment, staring at his wife’s countenance. He already knew she was deep in thought before pinning her down on the bed, but he didn’t know it was about a stalker. What made it even more concerning was that her stalker lived in the same building as them.

"Your worries are valid." Dominic squeezed her thigh, lifting it so it was resting on his waist. "Don’t worry about him anymore. I’ll handle him."

"You will not hurt him, will you?"

"Is that how you see me, Heaven Liu?"

Heaven pouted. "No?"

"I will not hurt him." His lips curled up, forming a short smile. "Unless he asks for it."

Her pout instantly died. Why did he have to ask her if she saw him terribly if he turned out to have a bad side? She felt slightly guilty for nothing.

"Dom, I told you about it because I didn’t want you to fight him." Heaven sighed, keeping her fist on his bare chest. "I’m just worried, and I thought you should know about it."

"That person is Paula Shen’s friend?"

"Mm. I think they were dating, but he makes me very uncomfortable."

"I see." Dominic rocked his head in understanding, cupping her face while brushing her cheek with his thumb. "I got it. I won’t fight him, but I’ll take extra precautions."

"You won’t add more bodyguards to me, will you?"

"Is that really your concern?"

"Well..."

"Bear is already here, and I trust him." Dominic smiled subtly, making her brows raise. "Though I will add more bodyguards for Basti, just in case."

Heaven smiled in satisfaction since that was also her priority. The reason Heaven just couldn’t leave her son alone was that she was scared for his safety. Even though the past months were peaceful, she had this deep instinct to make sure Sebastian was safe at all times.

After all, if something happened to her son... she wouldn’t just play with fire anymore. She would bring the entire inferno to the surface of the earth. Same thing for Dominic. Heaven was more concerned about them than her own. The main reason she decided to tell Dominic about it.

"I’m here, Love." Dominic moved closer, planting a kiss on her forehead. "Thank you for telling me about it."

A smile turned up on her face while Dominic drew his head back. "Just be careful, Dom. This person has money, after all."

"I have more." He smirked, but even though he didn’t mean to sound arrogant, he oozed with confidence. "Rest your mind, love. I got you."

Dominic nodded slightly but reassuringly, keeping his gaze on her. When he moved his face closer, he tilted his head before his lips landed on hers. The moment his tongue slid in between her lips, Dominic propped his elbow against the mattress, pushing himself up until his body was hovering over her.

However, as their lips were locked, he partially opened his eyes. Unlike the gentleness and calmness he showed, his eyes glinted menacingly. Still, he busied himself for a moment with her, kissing every inch of her body until she couldn’t think of anything else anymore, aside from the pleasure of their intimate time.

Hours later...

"That’s what happened."

Dominic was leaning against the balcony connected to the kitchen. He was holding a glass of wine in his hand, letting the night breeze kiss his face. Standing behind him was Heaven’s bodyguard during Bear’s absence, and then Bear.

The bodyguard just finished detailing what happened while guarding Heaven for the day while Dominic and Bear listened. Bear’s expression slowly turned grim the more he listened to the details.

"What do you think about it, Mr. Cruel?" asked Dominic calmly.

"It is, indeed, stalking." Bear shifted his eyes to Dominic’s back. "Do not worry, Master. I’ll put my hand on my chest and swear to prioritize the madam’s safety."

Dominic kept his eyes on the city lights in the distance. He didn’t have any reaction to Bear’s remarks, as if that was already given.

"Tell the rest to look after Basti," he ordered calmly. "And then half will investigate everyone on the 60th floor."

The bodyguard lowered his head, as this was something they were supposed to do instead of just standing in the hallway to guard the penthouse.

"Yes, Master."

"If you find anyone suspicious, I want a thorough detail about them." Dominic slowly turned around, bearing an unsmiling yet sharp look. The air around him was calm, but the look in his eyes was enough for the guard and Bear to understand Dominic was taking it more seriously than one would expect.

"My family’s safety is being compromised and I’m entrusting their safety in your hands." Dominic glanced at Bear and then back at the bodyguard. "Do not fail me because if you do, I will not be kind."

Bear and the bodyguard stared at Dominic’s fierce countenance before they lowered their head.

"We understand, Master."

"Good." Dominic rocked his head, only to arch a brow when Bear spoke again.

"Master." Bear bore a solemn expression. "If you want to add security, I can recommend some people — only if you want."

Dominic narrowed his eyes, holding Bear’s glinting pair of eyes. "And who are these people?"

"They might be quite a handful and a piece of work, but I can guarantee they were more than capable in these matters." Bear paused. "They’re some old colleagues who happened to be looking for a new job."

"An old colleague? In the military?"

"No. They worked as security as well."

"I see." Dominic rocked his head, reconsidering Bear’s suggestion. "Tell them to come to the office within the week for screening."

"Yes, Master." Bear lowered his head, knowing he was taking a risk. However, he knew one way or another, those guys would find a way to see the woman Moose kept talking about. That damn Moose who couldn’t stop running his mouth.
