Heaven blinked, standing behind the allocated suite for Paula. "It wouldn’t be a surprise if I told you," she answered innocently.

"Gosh." Paula frowned, disgruntled at Heaven’s presence in the filming.

Although Paula was already famous and had made a name for herself, this movie would be considered her biggest project yet. This would be her biggest break on the big screen, acting alongside veteran actors and the award-winning director.

How could she like the idea that Heaven was a part of it?!

"Paula, aren’t you happy?" Heaven frowned, forcing a tear out of her eyes. "I thought you will be happy if I accepted the role since it’s always been our dream to work on a project together. But if you don’t want me here, then I’d just call Dominic to pick me up."

’Our dream? That’s never in my plan — be it then or now!’ Paula bit her tongue to stop herself from cussing her out. However, she didn’t have any assumption Heaven purposely mentioned Dominic.

"Heaven, it’s not like that." Paula quickly changed her approach. "All I’m saying is, I felt like a fool that my best friend is already a part of this project and I’m the last person to know."

"But like I said... it was a surprise for your birthday. It wouldn’t be a surprise if I tell you." Heaven looked down. "Sorry."

Paula sighed once again, marching to Heaven until she was standing a step before her. "I’m not angry. I was just surprised, that’s all. Also, I was tired because I came straight from a photoshoot so I didn’t have enough sleep."

"You’re not angry?" Heaven looked at her warily, only to see Paula force a short smile.

"I’m not. Just don’t surprise me like that anymore. I don’t like surprises."

"You liked them back then."

"People change." Paula shrugged, not knowing she would hear this line in the future but under different circumstances. "Come. My team will come in a while, so let’s sit down first and rest."

"Are you sure you’re not angry anymore?"

"Yes." Paula nodded reassuringly before she smiled. "After all, it’s our dream to work on a project together."

Seeing that Paula came to terms with this surprise, Heaven slowly loosened up with a smile.

"Alright!" Heaven’s mood instantly changed, looking around the suite. Her lips parted in awe as this suite was quite big. "This looks fancy. This suite is all for you?"

When Heaven turned her head in Paula’s direction, the latter sported a repressed smile as she held her hand behind her.

"Well, I’m also surprised. I didn’t know Director Guan is this generous to allocate a suite for me," Paula shared, trying to sound humble and polite, when it was obvious she was itching to boast. "To be honest, I think it’s a little too much."

"Too much?" Heaven clasped her hand, gliding to Paula’s side excitedly. "What do you mean, too much? Paula, you are the main lead in this film! So, of course, you deserved a private suite so you can concentrate! I think Senior Wu also has his own room!"

Heaven then pouted, hooking her arms around Paula. "I’m jealous."

"Huh?" Paula furrowed her brows, eyes on Heaven. "Why would you be?"

"Because only you, Senior Wu, and a few have a private suite. The rest they have to share. I don’t even have one." Heaven blinked, still pouting. "That’s why I’m jealous, but at the same time, I am proud that my dearest friend has reached such heights!"

Hearing everything Heaven spewed brought this bubbling relief and confidence in Paula’s heart. Heaven? Being jealous of her? Of course, she should be! After all, Paula has a suite all for herself while Heaven had to share with others.

This alone already showed the difference in their career and importance. Paula was the main character while Heaven was just a small actress who luckily got a very minor role that the production could take out anytime.

Back then, Paula had to squeeze herself into a small room where all the less important artists change, do their makeup, and rest. Although Heaven would usually invite her to stay in Heaven’s changing room, Paula’s pride only took a blow every time she had to accept Heaven’s offer.

"Heaven, do you want to stay here?" Paula disguised her contempt with a sweet smile and a benign tone. "My suite is quite big. Although my team will be here, there’s enough room for you."

"I didn’t want to, but Dominic was worried. I told him a room is enough, but he likes spending his money so he booked the whole place!" Heaven continued happily, savoring the look on Paula’s face. "Thank you, though. If in any case, you can just hop to the nearby resort if things get chaotic here."

Paula tried her best to keep her smile, but it just looked forced. "Is... that so?"

"Mhm!" Heaven released Paula’s arm and strutted away, looking around the suite in amusement. When she turned on her heel, standing five steps from Paula, her smile brightened even more. "This suite is really cute, Paula. Can the production do my tattoo here? It’ll be troublesome to drive back and forth from here to the other resort. I’m afraid they might think I’m bragging if I told them my husband booked the entire place."

Paula’s jaw tightened, secretly balling her hand into a tight fist. She didn’t doubt Heaven’s claim because Dominic was a man who was capable of buying an entire private resort on a whim. Little did she know, everything Heaven said was nothing but bullshit.
