Chapter 1095: What is that sound?

Chapter 1095: What is that sound?

"I haven’t. Thank you for asking."

Horror plastered on Hera’s face, eyes wide and vacant. Everyone flying with her couldn’t help but stare at her blank expression. They looked at each other, amazed that the woman who had been beating them mentally would wear such a look.

And she only heard two short sentences from the other end of the line.

Those wearing headsets could hear her call. So, they didn’t have a choice but to listen to Dominic’s response.

"That damn Gray," Hera murmured when she finally recovered. "He’s screwing with me."

Despite the noise outside, her voice was clear through their earphones.

"There must be a reason," Tiger said, seated right beside her. "Call him again."

"Do you want to die?" Hera retorted, looking back at him in complete confusion. "You do know we’re thousands of feet up in the sky, right? If I kick you out, you’re dead."

"What do you want me to say?" Tiger shrugged. "Your son is getting out of control, like his mother. Might as well tell him about it."

"Seriously. Is asking Gray if Dominic had eaten necessary?" Primo, who was seated right across from them, nodded. "Anyway, listen to the man of the hour. He knows what he’s talking about."

"Or this guy right here just wants to see you fold." Sitting right beside Primo was Moose, pointing at the former with his thumb. "It’s fun though. For once, you know what it feels like to be in our shoes."

"Why did he answer?" she wondered, completely ignoring the bad devils across from her. "Gray won’t do that to me."

"That’s what you also said back then about Dragon." Tiger rolled his eyes. "Come on, woman. Who the fuck are you?"

"Hera Shameless Cruel?"

Moose shrugged triumphantly at her answer, wiggling his brows at Primo, who was in disbelief at what she said.

"If you know who you are, then call him back." Tiger jerked his chin at her. "I’m sure he answered for a reason. You know him. No matter how much he wanted to talk to you, he would rather not if the reason is you not fixing the relationship."

"Wait!" Moose leaned forward a little, but the straps around his torso stopped him. "She will apologize!"

Tiger furrowed his brows. "Are you crazy?"

"If crazy is what you’re looking for, then she’s seated right beside you." Primo backed up. "But she had to apologize to him."

"Is this about the money?"

"What else?" Moose and Primo exclaimed in unison.

"I knew it." Tiger clicked his tongue, ignoring them and looking at Hera. "Call him. There’s a word called co-parenting."

"And since when did you learn that?" Hera looked back at him in dismay. "You’re not even a father."

"With these two in here, it’s not a farfetched idea. Moreover, I read some books like that in case Ivy got tired of me," he explained nonchalantly. "With how active we were, I assumed our future was bright. Though I never planned to co-parent."

"Come on, Hera," Tiger urged helplessly. "This isn’t about you nor Dominic. It’s about Basti and what he was doing. I don’t trust that Gray would scold the little master, considering he’s aiming to be the best uncle. Dominic has to know."

"But..." Hera pouted, fluttering her eyelashes. "I’m... shy."

Primo scoffed in disbelief, putting his hand across his chest. Moose, on the other hand, didn’t know his mouth was wide open.

Was she acting cute just now?

The world must be ending.

"Hey," Primo elbowed Moose lightly, eyes still stuck on Hera. "Would Dominic Zhu forgive me if I apologize to him on my knees?"

"Because you once put his son in danger?" Moose also kept his eyes on Hera, shaking his head. "You should’ve apologized to him when you got the chance."

"Damn." Primo hissed, pinching the bridge of his nose.

If only Primo understood the level of influence Dominic had on this woman, he would’ve sucked up to Dominic. After all, hugging Hera’s thigh, thinking it was a golden one, was foolish. This woman was heartless, manipulative, and cunning. She had the talent to get into people’s heads and break every brain cell from thereon.

She would even fight Satan head-on if she was given the reason to. But against Dominic? There was only one word Primo could say: "Wow."

"That man really brings out the feminine in her, huh? I now can’t help but think there’s actually two Hera in this world: that one cruel witch and this one." Primo murmured, making Moose rock his head. "I don’t know if I’d be amazed, or get jealous I don’t have the same power as Dominic."

"The man is good-looking. You gotta give that to him."

Primo looked at Moose in dismay, perceiving that as an insult. "Did you just call me ugly without calling me ugly?"

"Shhh." Moose hushed, pointing at the other two across from them. "I’m listening to them."

"Go," Tiger urged again. "Ring him. You put that upon yourself, so you gotta suck it up."

Hera sighed heavily. "What am I going to tell him?"

"Tell him what you’re supposed to say previously."

"Fine." Hera drew a deep breath and huffed. She then pressed the button on her earphones, listening to it ring one time, only to hang up. "Nevermind. My son did a great job infiltrating the CIA’s weakened defense."

"And next time he did that, there’s no way he’s gonna get off the hook."

Hera and Tiger stared at each other until she sighed in defeat.

"Fine," she surrendered, pressing the earphone again. She glanced at Tiger coldly. "Watch me break his heart."

Tiger just shrugged, listening to the ring. He wanted to take off the earphones to give them privacy. Actually, not just him, but everyone who wore them. However, they couldn’t. Their curiosity took the best of them. They were intrigued by how Dominic would deal with this woman who had been giving them a headache. It might give them an insight into how they would deal with her in the future.

There was a real relevant reason, and not just out of pure curiosity. This was for their survival. That was what they told themselves.

Much to their dismay, all they heard was ringing and then it stopped.

Hera blinked and blinked, shifting her attention to Tiger. "Did he just... refuse to take the call?"

"Guess he didn’t know it was you who was calling the first time," Tiger shrugged. "Ah, wait, what is that sound?"

"Huh?"

He rubbed his chin as his eyes fell on her again. "I think I just heard something shatter. Was that your heart?"

"It didn’t just shatter, but was powderize," Primo commented, eyes on Hera. "Wow. Now the wind blew the residue away."

"I think I just heard someone confidently say they would break someone’s heart," Moose added. "Whose heart is bleeding now?"

Hera darted her eyes between Primo and Moose and then at Tiger. She scoffed, pressing the ring button again out of irritation.

"One day," she warned the three of them. "I’m going to kill you all and don’t even think of hiding behind Dominic’s back. I’ll break your legs before you can even reach him."
