Chapter 1042: Cruise

"Motherfucker."

Tiger’s eyes sharpened as soon as he watched the container door open, revealing at least two dozen children. The side of his lips curled up into a devilish smirk, barely keeping himself from marching back to the office just to beat the middleman’s brains out.

He looked at the children, cowering in fear at the sight of men outside the container. They were dirty, some were even in their pajamas. From the look in their eyes, he could see every little emotion swelling in their hearts.

Tiger knew.

He was once in one of these containers in the past, after being sold by his parents for a few hundred bucks. Princess also had an unforgettable experience in these containers. It was just that, unlike Princess who was saved just before she got shipped out, Tiger reached a farther part of his destination.

"This business never gets old," he muttered, keeping his eyes on the children looking back at him warily. "Take them out of there."

The men who were with them nodded, rushing inside the container. The children screamed and panicked, calling for help or asking for mercy.

"Be gentle," Tiger reminded, making the men nod.

"We’re not going to hurt you," said one of the men who was trying to calm down a boy. "You’re saved now."

"Please!"

"Don’t take me!"

"I want to go home!"

"I’ll be good! I won’t become a bad kid!"

"No, please!!"

Despite the men’s attempts to calm down the children, the children wouldn’t listen. They were too scared and too desperate. They would wiggle their arms, trying to get away from them.

"Let us —"

BANG!

All the children froze as their complexion turned pale. They instinctively looked at each other as if to see if any of them had died. When they realized the bullet didn’t hit any of them, they slowly turned their heads to the man who was giving out the orders.

Tiger slowly put down his rifle, unfazed by the shock he had given the children.

"Do you know that I can shut you up if I just pointed it at you?" he remarked coldly. "If I want you dead, I would’ve done so. You are children, young, and helpless. I get it that you’re scared. But if you stay in that container, it’ll take you straight down to hell."

"Once this container leaves this place, they would open up your bodies and get whatever organs they can use. And then, burn your body or feed it to the pigs," he added, making the children even more scared. "If you don’t want that, then get out of that damn container quietly. I don’t have patience with bad kids."

The children muffled their whimpers, even more scared now. However, their fear didn’t compel them to fight back. Instead, they held on to the little hope that listening to this scary man would warrant his mercy. The men who were initially trying to soothe the children sighed heavily.

"He’s only bad to those bad to him. Just listen, we’re not going to hurt you," said one man just to reassure the children they meant no harm.

After that, the children complied and followed the men to wherever they would take them now. Meanwhile, Tiger just watched quietly, scratching his temple, when a hand suddenly smacked the back of his head.

"Ah!" Tiger yelped, earning a look from the children while he looked back at the person who smacked his head.

"Is that how you should treat them?" Hera hissed, snapping her eyes at the children. "They’re so young. Reminds me of how young you and Princess were."

"If they kept whining, it’ll be troublesome for him."

"That boy... is almost the same age when you were in that hell back then."

Tiger slowly shifted his eyes to the direction of the children, only to see one boy peeking in their direction. A deep breath escaped him, saying, "This is why I rely on Princess on things like this. She’s good with the victims."

"Anyway, why are you out here?" Tiger changed the topic, looking back at her. "Shouldn’t you be with that fucker?"

"He passed out."

"Oh." Tiger rocked his head. "He deserves to be beaten."

"I didn’t beat him up. His injuries might give away our presence in later transactions. All I did was talk to him, but he ended up passing out." Hera shrugged nonchalantly. "He’s more cowardly than I thought he would be."

"He’s a middleman. His only job is to ship out these containers without raising any alarms," he returned. "Any important information we got?"

"Mhm." Hera took a moment to speak. "Back when Dominic was still the man at the helm of the Lyon Group, he had supported and donated to countless charities. One of them was the orphanage where some of these children came from."

Tiger arched a brow. "So Dimitri has been using his connections and resources for his own gain, huh? That smart bastard. Even if this is revealed in the public, it’ll all trace back to Dominic and not him."

"For the nature of Dimitri’s business, an orphanage and medical missions that my husband would support are like his farm. A place full of treasures. I see these children are worth more than a few hundred million," Hera remarked. "But one can’t be too complacent. So, using my husband’s name, he donated to other orphanages and medical missions."

"Tch." Tiger almost laughed in ridicule. "You got the list? I’ll make a quick run to all of them."

"There’s no need for that." Hera cast him a sidelong glance, catching the lines on his forehead. "Dom already went ahead and cleaned it up not long ago. These children were the last batch they managed to sneak out before Dom and the Interpol got involved."

"They probably didn’t get information where they took the missing children. But considering they got most of the information, I’m sure they are planning to wait for this shipment at their destination instead of chasing it," she added in the same emotionless tone.

"So, what now?" Tiger asked. "Your husband is already too involved in this. And he’s coming too close to Dimitri than us."

"Dom and Dimitri have scores to settle. It’s personal, and I don’t want to meddle," she replied. "I don’t know what’s going on in his mind, and I don’t want to know. It’ll probably piss me off. Even so, we’ll proceed with the shipments tonight."

Hera slowly faced Tiger, tipping her head in the container’s direction. "Load this thing up. We’ll go on a cruise."
