I Told You To Manage The Reserve Unit For Me Instead Of Turning It Into A Special Troop -
Chapter 1233 - Chapter 1233 Chapter 704 New Mission_2
Chapter 1233: Chapter 704: New Mission_2 Chapter 1233: Chapter 704: New Mission_2 Hearing these words, Qin Yuan’s eyelids lifted slightly, and his eyes suddenly brightened.
Finally, some action!
He was nearly bored sick during this period of time.
“What mission?”
Qin Yuan asked.
“I should state beforehand that this mission involves national secrets of great importance, so before I tell you, I need to ask you once more, are you sure you want to undertake this mission?”
The leader spoke solemnly.
“Sure!”
Qin Yuan didn’t hesitate at all.
“Such a quick response?”
“Aren’t you afraid I might sell you off to Africa?”
The leader asked with a smile.
“What’s there to be afraid of? If I don’t want to go, no one can take me away. If I want to come back, no one can keep me.”
Qin Yuan responded confidently.
“Good, you really are brazen!”
Admiration filled the leader’s eyes.
“This mission does indeed involve going abroad.”
“But rest assured, it’s not sending you to Africa, but to the M country.”
Hearing this, Qin Yuan’s facial expression remained unchanged, and his eyes continued to watch the leader, knowing there was more to come.
“The mission is to go to M country, find a certain criminal organization, and then infiltrate it.”
“Oh, so I’m going to be undercover?”
Qin Yuan finally spoke.
“Exactly.”
“What kind of organization is it?”
“As for this organization, the information we currently hold is very limited. We only know that it controls a number of M country’s gangs to do its bidding.”
“Yet their core members have never shown their faces, always using various methods of communication to notify gang leaders.”
Qin Yuan listened and instinctively furrowed his brows.
“The difficulty is not small, but it’s not a big problem.”
Qin Yuan pondered for a moment before speaking.
Hearing Qin Yuan’s comment, the leader laughed.
“Heh, I knew you were capable, but I still have to lay things out for you.”
“Many of M country’s outstanding agents have been sent to investigate this organization, even collaborating with numerous other countries.”
“But every time they’re about to make a breakthrough, the leads are cut short, and many of the operatives have suffered greatly; those who returned came back with injuries -”
The leader paused there, looking at Qin Yuan.
At this moment, Qin Yuan’s brows were tightly locked, his face somber.
Clearly, the task was extremely arduous, nearly a life-and-death gamble.
“I’ve said my piece, do you have anything you want to say?”
The leader asked.
Hearing this, Qin Yuan’s frown relaxed, jokingly he said,
“Do I have a choice not to go?”
“No!”
The leader immediately rejected it, “Now that you know the mission, you have to go whether you want to or not!”
“Don’t get worked up, I was just trying to inject some humor considering how serious you look, making this mission seem especially perilous.”
Qin Yuan explained with a grin.
“I’m not joking with you. Originally, this matter had nothing to do with us, but our intelligence personnel recently discovered some unidentified individuals appearing in the capital, seemingly plotting something -”
“Then what are we waiting for? Why not capture them and interrogate them to find out everything?”
Upon hearing this, Qin Yuan contemplated for a moment and then said, “You’ve discovered them but haven’t captured them. Is it because you can’t find solid evidence against them, or is it because they appeared for a while and then vanished?”
The leader looked at Qin Yuan somewhat surprised, then nodded, “Well said, Sergeant. You’re right on both counts!”
With the affirmative response, the corner of Qin Yuan’s mouth involuntarily curled up into a smile, “Truly a bunch of mysterious characters; the mission is quite challenging!”
“But that’s exactly why it’s interesting, haha!”
Seeing Qin Yuan’s cocky demeanor, the leader warned, “Qin Yuan, I know you’re skilled, but don’t be overconfident, only to bring about your own downfall.”
“Remember, many international elites have fallen to this organization. Always be extra cautious, don’t throw your life away.”
“Yes!”
“Rest assured, Chief, I guarantee to complete the mission!”
Qin Yuan immediately replied with seriousness.
“Alright, I’ve said all there is to say, and you’ve understood the mission. You don’t even need to pack; a car will come soon to take you to the ship.”
“A ship?”
Qin Yuan was somewhat bewildered, “Chief, you’re not kidding with me, are you?”
“By plane, we could be there today, why waste time?”
“This is a decision made after careful consideration by everyone. You just follow orders!”
The leader responded unequivocally.
“Fine!”
Seeing this, Qin Yuan didn’t argue further, “Then how will I contact you guys?”
“Don’t worry about that; someone will contact you when necessary.”
“Report!”
Just then, the voice of a guard came from outside the door.
“What is it?”
“Commander, there’s a comrade here to pick someone up.”
“Okay, got it, I’ll be right there!”
After responding, the commander looked towards Qin Yuan, “Let’s go, your ride is here.”
“Yes, commander, shall I leave?”
Qin Yuan asked in a questioning tone.
“Hm?”
“Do you have a problem judging by your tone?”
The commander was somewhat puzzled, then impatiently added, “If you have something to say, say it quickly. Once you leave this door, don’t expect me to help you.”
“Well, about that, am I supposed to go all the way to another country on a mission without any operating funds?”
Qin Yuan’s face showed hope.
“Oh, I almost forgot, of course, there are operating funds.”
As he spoke, the commander took out 500 yuan from his pocket and stuffed it into Qin Yuan’s hand.
Wang Defa!
You’ve got to be kidding me, only 500 yuan?!
This isn’t even enough to rent a place to stay!
“Commander, just 500?”
Qin Yuan inquired, unwilling to let it go.
“Yep, just 500.”
The commander replied calmly.
Hearing this, Qin Yuan’s face fell in disappointment, and just as he was about to speak, the commander cut him off.
“The operating funds have been given to you, hurry up and set off. Otherwise, we won’t make it in time.”
“Yes, I’ll leave right now.”
Realizing that further discussion was fruitless, Qin Yuan saluted the commander and then turned to leave.
Reaching the gate, Qin Yuan immediately spotted the female comrade standing at the entrance.
Dressed in a casual suit, with short black hair, she looked very capable.
When she saw Qin Yuan, the female comrade promptly came over to greet him.
“Hello, comrade. I’m here to take you to the harbor; please get in the car.”
Whilst saying this, she even opened the car door for him.
Approaching closer, Qin Yuan noticed that although the female comrade was dressed androgynously, she was quite youthful and attractive.
Qin Yuan said nothing but nodded to her, then dived into the car.
The car started and soon disappeared within the military camp while it was still dark out.
Aside from the commander and the driving female comrade, no third person knew of Qin Yuan’s departure.
“Comrade, what’s your name?”
In the car, a bored Qin Yuan finally couldn’t help himself and asked.
“You can call me Yezi.”
Yezi replied.
“Is that your real name, or did you just make it up on the fly?”
“Yezi is my code name.”
“Oh? Could it be that you’re my contact?”
“What contact?”
Yezi inquired back.
Hearing this, Qin Yuan instantly understood; clearly, this female comrade had no idea where he was heading or what mission he was supposed to undertake.
Realizing this, Qin Yuan didn’t respond but instead shifted the topic, “Which harbor are we going to?”
Instead of giving a clear answer, the comrade replied, “Didn’t the commander tell you?”
“No, he just said I’d be catching a boat–”
“Hehe, you’ll find out when we get there.”
Yezi said with a light laugh.
Hm?
Why does this feel off?
When Qin Yuan heard Yezi say that, he suddenly had a bad feeling and immediately thought of a possibility.
“It couldn’t be–”
“No way–”
Qin Yuan tried to reassure himself internally.
At this moment, the car had already left the main road and was getting more and more remote.
If it weren’t Qin Yuan in the car, one might suspect they were in an illegal taxi about to be trafficked or something.
Half an hour later, the car came to a halt.
Qin Yuan got out and glanced around at the surroundings.
All that met his eyes were wild grass and trees; the view was entirely obscured with just one road leading to this location.
“This is really a perfect place for smuggling!”
Qin Yuan couldn’t help but remark.
