I, The Villainess, Will Seduce All The Heroines Instead
Chapter 82: The Saintess Heroine?!

Chapter 82: The Saintess Heroine?!

There was a loud commotion echoing through the library. Someone was yelling, completely ruining the sacred silence of the building. A few students groaned audibly, muttering curses under their breath.

Verena, still squished behind the shelf, craned her neck and peeked over the top.

Wait a second... Was that a vent up there?

She looked back at the redhead, who was breathing like she just ran a marathon in heels. No way. Did this girl just crawl through a vent like some unhinged raccoon?

"Celestine! Where are you?! I know you’re around here!"

The redhead stiffened, her hand still hovering too close to Verena’s face.

Verena blinked. "...Celestine?"

Pause.

Celestine.

CELESTINE?!

As in Celestine Marlow?!

The poster girl for purity and perfection? The "flawless" heroine whose only real character trait was being aggressively nice and universally loved? The one all the broken, brooding male leads clung to like she was a life raft and they were drowning in tragic backstories?

As the sound of approaching footsteps grew louder, Celestine’s expression shifted from anxious to outright panicked.

"I’m sorry," she whispered, eyes darting toward the corridor, "but can we pretend like—"

"Pretend like what?" Verena asked cautiously.

Before she could get an answer, Celestine’s arm suddenly wrapped around Verena’s neck, pulling her in close.

Too close. Their faces were inches apart, breath mingling, lips nearly brushing.

Then Celestine froze, the moment suspended in tension.

"Oh, for—ugh!" the man’s voice cut through the air like a blade. "This is a library, for god’s sake!" His disgust was palpable, but he quickly turned on his heel. "Whatever. I’m not dealing with this."

They remained locked in place until his footsteps faded completely.

Only then did they separate, slowly, like magnets reluctantly breaking contact. Both of them exhaled at once, breath shaky, the silence between them heavier than before.

"...Thanks," Celestine muttered, avoiding Verena’s gaze.

Verena didn’t respond immediately.

She was too busy wondering what the hell kind of novel she’d just dropped into because of all these damned encounters.

But there was no doubt about it.

That girl, currently clinging to Verena like they were rehearsing for a drama club performance, was definitely Celestine Marlow.

The infamous golden girl.

And yes, of course she was gorgeous. That fiery, wavy red hair that somehow always fell perfectly without frizz. Those shimmering golden eyes that looked like they’d been dipped in sunlight.

A slow, gentle smile that could probably convince a dictator to plant flowers. She radiated purity with just enough sensuality to make the male leads lose their minds.

The exact blend of seductive and saintly.

But if you asked Verena?

She was so boring she could be used as a sleep aid.

Seriously. What were her defining character traits again? Let’s review the receipts:

Tragic Backstory? Orphaned, of course, but somehow still emotionally well-adjusted and forgiving to everyone, including literal war criminals.

Special Powers? Chosen by the ancient prophecy, naturally. Born with a rare magic that responds to feelings and kindness.

Personality? Endlessly kind. Eternally forgiving. Thinks murderers "just need a hug."

Flaws? Her only flaw was caring too much. Which isn’t a flaw. It’s PR packaging.

Development Arc? What arc? She starts perfect, ends perfect, and everyone around her changes just to match her glowing presence.

Love Interests? All of them. Every male lead. Even the cold, emotionally repressed assassin suddenly wants to write her poetry.

In short, Celestine Marlow was the type of character who didn’t walk through conflict.

She floated over it on a sparkly cloud of author favoritism.

And now she was in Verena’s arms. Possibly on the run from something. Possibly still glowing.

This story just got so much dumber.

’Huh. So that means... I’ve met all of the heroines now.’

It hit her like a comedic prophecy.

She’d somehow, by sheer cosmic trolling, stumbled across every single heroine in the novel. Like accidental Pokémon encounters, but instead of "Gotta Catch ’Em All," it was "Gotta Keep Them Alive and Emotionally Supported."

And now that Celestine Marlow, the final boss of benevolence, had made her surprise vent-crawling debut... that could only mean one thing.

The story was about to actually begin.

The messy part. The drama. The chaos. The betrayals. The death flags. The sob-stained dialogue and romantic tension so thick you could spread it on toast.

She had to survive it by making every one of these girls fall for her just enough not to die. Or, you know, commit high-stakes mistakes that would nuke the world.

Even the ones that drove her up the wall. Especially the ones that drove her up the wall.

She sighed. "I have to treat them all like love interests, huh..."

"Aha! I knew it! There you are!"

The man from earlier was back, panting like he’d just run a marathon fueled entirely by caffeine and suspicion. He looked like an upperclassman, clearly not thrilled to be chasing vent-gremlins through the sacred hush of the library.

"Oh no!" Celestine gasped beside her.

Verena didn’t hesitate.

"Hold on!"

She grabbed Celestine’s wrist and ran.

Books flew. Students turned. A librarian audibly gasped and dropped her quill.

Down the stairs they went, nearly tripping over a stunned first-year carrying a stack of astrology scrolls. Verena whispered an apology mid-sprint, dragging Celestine.

They darted past the history section, swerved to avoid a "Quiet Please" sign, and flung the heavy library doors open like they were escaping from prison.

Once they were outside, wind in their hair and panic in their bones, Verena glanced over her shoulder.

Clear.

No sign of the Vent-Hater.

They slowed, breathless and slightly disheveled, as Verena wheezed, "Why... why do all of my romantic routes begin with emergency evasion?"

Celestine was dragged along, wide-eyed and almost mesmerized, as Verena pulled her.

Her gaze lingered on Verena like she had just witnessed the most absurd thing in the world. And then, without warning, her laughter rang out, echoing through the hallway.

"HAHAHAHAHA! You’re so funny, miss!"

Verena winced but couldn’t help the tiny smile tugging at her lips.

The thing was, Celestine did have a flaw. And it was glaringly obvious in moments like these.

She had a terrible habit of running away from her duties.
