I, The Villainess, Will Seduce All The Heroines Instead -
Chapter 73: Break Up Phase Already?!
Chapter 73: Break Up Phase Already?!
To be honest, she still hadn’t gotten over Evelyn’s brilliantly dumb decision to blow up Penelope.
It was like a permanent stain in her brain now. How could someone be so emotionally reckless?
It was maddening. And let’s not forget, this girl had blood on her hands now. That was a huge red flag.
Verena couldn’t just let her go around being all dependent on her entirely now.

A breakup phase?
Her thoughts were interrupted by Evelyn’s voice.
"Is something wrong, Verena?" Evelyn asked, her soft smile spreading across her face. She leaned down and playfully nipped at Verena’s neck again, then again, and once more, as if this were some strange, misguided form of affection.
"E-Evelyn, stop..." Verena stammered, feeling the sting of the familiar, frustrating gesture.
The girl just wouldn’t get it.
Verena could feel herself growing frustrated.
She wasn’t some emotional punching bag. And she definitely wasn’t here to soothe some affection-deprived, overly clingy girl who needed to learn how to stand on her own two feet.
"Why do you keep doing this?" Verena finally snaped. "You think I’m here to just be your emotional crutch, to fix everything? I can’t. I’m not the answer to your problems, Evelyn. You need to learn how to stand alone, how to live without relying on me to fix everything."
"But... I... I need you, Verena..."
Unbelievable. She refused to be hurled into a stereotypical romance scenerio. This went against her principles.
"No. You need to grow. Stand up for yourself. Stop relying on others to fight your battles. I can’t be your savior every time you feel helpless. You have to take responsibility for your own actions."
She pulled away, folding her arms. "I can’t keep enabling this. It’s not healthy for either of us."
Evelyn’s eyes welled with tears, but Verena held firm. "I’m not doing this to hurt you. But we both need to change. I can’t keep holding your hand. You have to learn that."
Her heart ached, but she knew it was the only way.
"You need to love yourself, Evelyn. Only then can we move forward. Together, or apart."
"Y-You can’t do this to me, Verena... what am I supposed to do without you?"
"You can do a lot without me!" Verena’s voice cut through the air, sharp and firm. "You just have to believe that you can."
"I..."
"Don’t show your face to me right now," Verena said, her tone cold but resolute.
This wasn’t about some misunderstanding.
There was no miscommunication here, just a need for space, space to grow.
Verena wasn’t doing this out of malice, but out of care. She needed time for herself, time to breathe.
If Evelyn was ever going to stand on her own, it had to start now.
"Listen," Verena sighed. "I have something important to say. I saw it in my vision. Your dream will come true. You will find a group of people who truly care for you. A reading circle filled with wonderful, genuine friends. And.. you are the Incarnation of the First Weaver."
Evelyn’s tears slowed, her breath catching. "I... I am?"
"Your magic... Balance magic. It’s not just any power. It’s like the First Weaver’s, connecting the world to the Cosmic Threads. You’re not helpless, Evelyn. You’re special. But if you don’t embrace that, if you waste it, you’ll fade into the nothingness you fear."
The weight on Evelyn’s shoulders seemed to lift as she heard those words, though doubt still lingered in her eyes.
But during her time studying with Beatrice in the past, they both learned something.
Epiphany Inducement.
An epiphany was a sudden revelation, an insight. It was the moment when everything made sense.
Every part of a human body was connected to the Threads.
And Evelyn could manipulate them.
That meant she could not only understand the world, but also impart what she knew.
With a deep breath, she focused on the Threads once again, channeling all her energy through her connection.
She saw it.
A path, hazy and uncertain, but still a path where Evelyn became the person she longed to be.
When she opened her eyes, a small light glowed at her fingertips.
Gently, she tapped it on Evelyn’s head.
"Ah..." Evelyn gasped, her body frozen for a moment as everything flooded her mind. Her heart raced. "Verena... What I saw... is it true?"
"Only if you make it true."
"Then... before I say goodbye... can I have one last kiss?"
Verena stood firm. "No."
Evelyn nodded slowly, a quiet understanding in her eyes.
That was the end of it.
Without another word, she turned and walked away, casting one final glance.
It was the last time they would ever speak.
***
It was Monday again.
Verena felt like absolute crap after everything that went down.
Apparently, Penelope had decided to go into hiding for a while, not showing her face at school after the chaos.
"Good morning, Verena!" Beatrice waved energetically as she dashed toward her at the entrance gate.
"Took you long enough," Verena teased, crossing her arms.
On the other side of the courtyard, a small crowd had gathered. Evelyn was at the center, soaking in all the attention like she was some kind of celebrity.
"I heard you got abducted!" one voice piped up.
"Are you alright, Evelyn?!" another asked.
At least the whole fiasco had worked out in Evelyn’s favor.
The girl looked like she was struggling with all the attention.
As their eyes almost met, Verena calmly looked away, pretending like they were strangers. The perfect act.
Beatrice noticed. "Is something wrong? You’re not going over to Evelyn?"
"I ended our friendship."
"Oh. I see... Well, I won’t pry!"
That response made Verena smile softly. "Jesus, you’re making it hard for me to hate you."
"What? Why would you hate me?!"
Because I’ll eventually have to hate you like all the heroines....
