I, The Villainess, Will Seduce All The Heroines Instead
Chapter 121: The Chihuahua Wants To Save Me? (2)

Chapter 121: The Chihuahua Wants To Save Me? (2)

When Verena turned around, she was met with a shocking sight where Sera clung to the window, her fingers barely holding on to the wooden frame.

"OPEN THE GODDAMN WINDOW!"

"S-Sera?!"

Verena shot up from her seat in a panic, scrambling toward the window. She fumbled with the latch before finally shoving it upward, just in time to catch Sera teetering dangerously with one foot still on a precarious tree branch.

Without thinking, Verena reached out and grabbed the girl’s arm, her eyes widening as she took in the scene.

Sera had climbed the tree, leaping through knotted branches and snapping twigs just to get to the window.

So reckless!

"JUST PULL ME ALREADY!"

"What kind of knight makes demands like this?!"

Groaning, Verena grabbed Sera’s other arm and, with no other option, hauled the girl inside with all the strength she could muster.

"Fina—" she began, but the sudden loss of momentum caught her off guard.

Verena stumbled, lost her balance, and toppled to the floor in a graceless heap. Her head spun from the impact, though, mercifully, it didn’t hurt nearly as much as it could have—thanks in large part to Sera’s light frame cushioning the fall.

"Owww..." Sera groaned, sprawled atop something unexpectedly soft.

It wasn’t quite a sandwich, but certainly shaped more like a rounded cushion. Plush, warm, and suspiciously... squishy.

Her scowl wavered, relaxing into something almost dreamy as she gave it a tentative squeeze.

Her brows slowly drew together.

"...This isn’t a pillow."

"You like it that much, hm?"

Sera froze. "?!"

Her gaze snapped northward, only to be met with Verena’s smirk, unmistakable and sharp as ever.

"Be careful," Verena warned with a glint in her eye. "Wouldn’t want anyone to get the wrong impression about a little knight like you... especially when it comes to bountiful pillows."

Sera’s mouth opened to retort, but then she paused, her words lost as she fully processed their rather compromising position.

She was straddling Verena, sitting squarely on her stomach, and their faces were dangerously close.

She couldn’t help but notice the delicate curve of Verena’s long, dark lashes, the way her emerald eyes shimmered with that trademark slyness, and the full, inviting shape of her lips. There was no denying it now. Verena was stunning.

And in this angle... she looked nothing short of seductive.

It was utterly unfair.

"S-Shut up! I was trying to rescue you!"

"By... climbing in through the window?" Verena arched a brow, her tone dry with amusement.

Realization dawned on Sera’s face like a slow, reluctant sunrise. Her scowl returned in full force. "I-I mean, rescue you from your boredom, obviously!"

"Well," Verena purred, smirking up at her, "I’d say it’s working beautifully."

[SYSTEM WARNING: You have unknowingly entered a DANGER ZONE.]

[Cause Detected: Excessive teasing of your Knight has compromised her emotional stability. Pride levels critically low. Fluster levels at maximum.]

[Consequence: Sera’s Affection has become unstable!]

[Recommended Action: Engage in controlled flirtation to recalibrate Affection Points.]

[Penalty Incurred: Instant status effect applied.]

[Debuff Applied: Pinned to the Floor]

[Duration: 2 minutes]

[Reminder: DO NOT GIVE IN!]

I thought she wanted to save me?!

But it made sense. Her Affection Points were still low, and no one undergoes an entire character development overnight.

It was mildly infuriating how everything with these girls felt like a game.

Then again, romance often was, a series of maddening mind games, especially in those absurdly dramatic romance novels.

It could begin with toxicity, and yet readers devoured it, enchanted by the fantasy, convinced they too could experience such twisted passion... only to be blindsided when reality reminded them that love, in truth, was nothing like that at all.

"I... I can’t move," Verena murmured, her voice laced with disbelief.

She strained to lift her arms, but they lay useless at her sides, unresponsive.

"Ha!" Sera scoffed, rising slowly from atop her with a smug grin as she surveyed Verena’s pitiful state. "All that bravado, and now you’re crumbling like a brittle old crone!"

"You know what? Maybe I should’ve never played knight with you at all. I should’ve just left you here," Sera huffed, turning on her heel with a dramatic flick.

"Wait—NO!"

Damn it.

She wasn’t supposed to cave that quickly—especially not by shouting after her like some desperate damsel.

Honestly, Evelyn had more knightly valor than this girl ever did. Sera, with all her sulking and tantrums, acted more like a pampered noble heiress than a battle-worn defender.

"And here I thought a knight was sworn to never give up."

The words hit home like a well-aimed arrow. Sera froze, her eyes going wide with indignation as she slowly turned around.

Verena, sensing blood in the water, gave a slow, mischievous grin.

"Oh brave knight," she purred, fluttering her lashes and patting the ground beside her, "won’t you rescue this poor, helpless damsel—bound by cruel fate and terrible debuffs?"

She even added a tragic sigh for effect.

Sera’s eye twitched. "You’re the worst kind of victim..."

"The worst kind? Oh, how cruel. And here I thought you liked your damsels bold and impossible."

Sera marched toward her—one slow, stomping step at a time, face flushed, not from exertion but from the war happening under her skin. Her pride screamed to walk away. Her heart, though... that traitorous thing had always been too easily swayed by Verena’s smirks and shamelessness.

She crouched beside her—too close, too fast. Their faces were only inches apart now.

"What’s this? Are you finally going to kiss me or kill me?"

"Don’t provoke me," Sera muttered, but her voice lacked bite.

"I think you’re provoked enough already."

"Don’t flatter yourself. I just didn’t want to owe you anything."

"I should leave you here," she growled. "Let you stew in your own nonsense."

"You won’t," Verena whispered back, eyes half-lidded. "Because deep down, you don’t want to fight me."

Sera clenched her jaw, furious that it was true.

"I still don’t like you."

"You don’t have to," Verena said, her voice dangerously soft. "You just have to admit you want me in your corner."

Their foreheads almost touched, breath mingling in the sliver of space between them. It wasn’t a kiss, but it was something heavier. More intimate.

It was the kind of closeness that comes not from affection—but collision. Two storms meeting at the eye.

And for now, that was enough.

[System Notification: Affection Update!]

[Target: Sera Anverre]

[+8 Affection Points Earned!]

[Debuffs have been removed!]

[SYSTEM NOTICE: The mission was successful!]

[Affection Points: 32]

Knock, knock!

The door creaked open, revealing none other than Evelyn.

Sera froze mid-motion, her entire face blooming red in an instant.

Evelyn took in the scene with unnerving serenity. "...What’s going on here?" she asked, voice light but laced with suspicion.

"T-This isn’t—!"

"I fell," Verena cut in smoothly, tone effortlessly calm. "My body wouldn’t move, and Sera was just trying to help me up."

Evelyn’s gaze swept over the room like a forensic investigator. Her eyes narrowed briefly, catching the faint bruising on Verena’s hand, the thin layer of dust on her robes, the slightly scuffed floorboards.

"Hm. I see," A beat passed. Then, she smiled brightly—perhaps a touch too brightly. "Why didn’t you say so?"

Why didn’t you say so? What does that even mean?

Without missing a beat, Evelyn stepped forward, her expression softening with concern.

"Here, let me help you," she said gently, kneeling beside Verena gracefully.

Her hands were warm as they slipped beneath Verena’s back and arm, steady and assured, lifting her slowly but carefully—almost like cradling something delicate.

Verena blinked, a little surprised by the unexpected tenderness, her head resting lightly against Evelyn’s shoulder for a moment too long.

"You’re really tense," Evelyn murmured, adjusting Verena’s posture with quiet precision. "You should stretch more."

The room felt still, almost too still.

Sera, standing awkwardly to the side, stared as if she’d just been replaced—her jaw tightening ever so slightly. Something about the scene felt... off. Too smooth. Too natural. Too comfortable.

And for some reason, that irritated her far more than it should’ve.

Naturally, Verena didn’t miss such a small detail.

Just as I thought...

And yet, it felt all the more wrong. The realization that she was, however unintentionally, playing the hearts of two girls tugged unpleasantly at her conscience.

Was she truly any better than the insufferable male leads she ridiculed?

"Actually, I should say something—" Verena began.

"No, wait," Evelyn gently shook her head, her eyes sincere. "I came here because I heard... you defended me. That’s why you’re the one being blamed."

"Verena... defended you?" Sera blinked, her voice low with disbelief.

However, there was one thing Verena had certainly overlooked.

Evelyn had grown sharper, bolder, and far more attuned to herself and her surroundings.

"Thank you..." Evelyn murmured, her voice low and confident, before leaning in and pressing her lips to Verena’s, right in front of a stunned Sera.

Then her eyes looked at Sera as she kissed Verena softly.
