I, the Villain, Want to Save Myself, But the Yandere Heroines Disagree -
Chapter 82 - Great Victory (11/13)
“Then, Donny, escort General Garibaldi back,” Giovanni said this, summoning his son Donny.
“I understand, Father,” Donny walked over from the side and politely nodded towards Garibaldi.
“General, this way please.”
“Mm,” Garibaldi nodded. He knew this was likely the last time he would come to the ducal mansion. He turned back and carefully looked at the carved beams and painted rafters of the ducal mansion one last time. Finally, he nodded and left.
Sitting in the carriage, Garibaldi looked at Donny before him. He seemed eager to ease his awkwardness, and quickly began to clear himself of blame.
“Young Master Donny, you might not believe it, but that Litte is truly a terrifying child, he knows how to manipulate people, you know, that stratagem he used to sow discord...”
Donny smiled throughout, until he escorted Garibaldi to his home.
Opening the door, Garibaldi instantly froze.
“General, what are you doing standing at the entrance? This is your home. Hurry, go in?” Donny said with a smile.
“...” Garibaldi turned his head to look at Donny, stared at his eyes for a long time, then said, trembling:
“Who... who did this? Was it you?! Donny! Was it you!!!!”
He roared, as if trying to boost his own morale with this.
But Donny was not frightened by him. He just quietly looked at Garibaldi, and waited until he finished speaking before saying with a smile, “General Garibaldi, don’t forget, Father said before that someone needs to bear the responsibility for the defeat in the battle. You are the best person to bear that responsibility, aren’t you?”
“No... Impossible. The Duke wouldn’t do that. Is it you, Donny, overstepping your authority! I have served the Duke for so long. I have followed every single command of the Duke word for word. He couldn’t possibly want to harm me. Impossible...”
“Why is it impossible? General Garibaldi, it is precisely because you have always listened to Father that Father trusts you. Now Father wants you to die. Will you choose to comply and become a loyal subject, or choose to betray Father and be executed as a traitor?”
Listening to Donny’s words, Garibaldi could no longer endure it. He knelt down, losing his former demeanor as a general.
“Young Master Donny... No, Young Master Donny, I am begging you. You have already killed my family. Please spare me... I beg you. I have served Napoli diligently and conscientiously for so many years. Even if I have no merit, I have worked hard. I just want to live...”
“General Garibaldi, I feel that I am sometimes very much like you. This truly makes me feel disgusted,” Donny said this, and then asked, “Well, let me ask you a question?”
“What question? Young Master Donny, please ask.”
“Between me and Litte, who is more terrifying now?”
“You... it is Your Excellency Donny!”
“But I don’t like the word terrifying,” Donny said this, shaking his head.
Subsequently, behind Garibaldi, a burly man suddenly darted out and tightened a white cloth strip around his neck.
Garibaldi’s bulky body tried to resist, but it was all in vain.
Donny just stood there, in front of Garibaldi, watching his cheeks slowly turn red, and his thick limbs go from flailing wildly to gradually losing vitality.
Until there was no longer any life.
“What a pity. A loyal elder who risked his life for the duchy, yet ended up like this.”
“Young Master Donny, should his body be hung from the ceiling?” The burly man asked after strangling Garibaldi to death.
“Mm,” Donny nodded, walked into the house, and looked up at the hanging bodies on the ceiling. “Put him... here. I remember this is his wife. They can be reunited as husband and wife now.”
“How laughable. One went to nightclubs constantly while alive despite having a wife, and the other kept male companions while alive. These two truly are a match made in heaven,” Donny said this, ridiculing Garibaldi sarcastically.
“Finally, the fabricated news is that General Garibaldi committed suicide out of fear of punishment for dereliction of duty in the war, taking his entire family with him. Mm, this news should be sensational throughout Romulus.”
Saying this, Donny couldn’t help but laugh out loud.
“Hahaha, Father, you truly understand your son too well.”
...
A day later, Giovanni was sitting in the living room, reading today’s news. Upon seeing the largest headline, he let out a cold snort.
“Who taught you to do that, Donny?”
“Wasn’t it you, Father? If you hadn’t taught me these things, how would I have used them at a time like this?”
“What you did was acceptable, but it was a bit too arbitrary. Why kill his entire family?”
“Do you expect to leave one or two worthless descendants who will come back to settle scores with us later? Father, you yourself told me in person before that for those you dislike, don’t leave a single one alive.”
“I did indeed tell you that,” Giovanni heard this and nodded.
During their conversation, their expressions remained calm, even when the topic was about wiping out an entire family. It was as if they were discussing ordinary daily matters, and occasionally, they would even laugh.
...
Florence City, after the Antica army took over the city, they still kept their promise. They quickly restored the administrative and security system of Florence City with the original personnel. The soldiers were also allowed to take leave and rest within Florence City.
“How about it? Was I right? We won’t break our promise. At least until Napoli changes hands again, it will remain like this,” Standing on the city wall, Litte patrolled the city with Virgil and Martin.
The soldiers maintained strict discipline. After entering the city, they did not bully people just because they were soldiers. Instead, they were legally shopping and living using the military pay they had received from the army.
Everything was orderly. Even the curfew system that had been implemented during the siege had been canceled. Florence City had regained its former vitality.
Seeing the city in this state, Martin, who had grown up here, was naturally very happy.
“It’s truly very good. I hope you can continue to uphold this idea in the future.”
“Judge by their actions, not by their intentions,” Litte said this. “I don’t know what the future lord will do here, but under our current ruling principles, your people, the people you protect, have been protected, haven’t they?”
“Mm,” Martin nodded.
Just at this moment, he saw a flower shop and stopped there.
At the entrance of the flower shop, a young woman was standing at the entrance, promoting flowers. But for some reason, there wasn’t much smile on the girl’s face. Instead, she looked troubled.
“What’s wrong?” Litte looked at Martin, who had stopped, and asked curiously.
“I... I might have something I need to attend to. I won’t be able to patrol with you.”
“It’s alright. It must be something very important to you, right? Go on,” Litte said this, smiling.
“Many thanks,” Martin thanked her, then walked down the stairs from the city wall, and then quickly ran towards the flower shop.
