I, the Villain, Want to Save Myself, But the Yandere Heroines Disagree -
Chapter 47 - Promise Me
At night, Litte met Lianca at a coffee shop.
“Quite a coincidence, Litte. I just happened to have something I wanted to talk to you about,” Lianca said as soon as she sat down.
“Mm, why don’t you go first?”
“Alright,” Lianca heard this, nodded, then got straight to the point.
“Litte, isn’t your brother Orson being a bit too much? My sister locked herself in her room again after returning today, which meant I didn’t even get dinner when I went back to the dorm.”
“Huh?” Litte was puzzled upon hearing this, then she retorted, “No... Orson was clearly very unhappy in the dorm today. Isn’t that your sister Olivia’s problem?”
“Ah?” Lianca was also startled.
“Wait a moment, I think there might be a little misunderstanding between us. Let’s first clarify what happened,” Litte said this, and told Lianca about the situation she and Laina encountered after returning to the dorm today.
“But what was the situation with Sister’s behavior after she returned?” Lianca heard Litte finish, frowned, then told Litte about Olivia’s suspicion that Orson had other women before.
Hearing Celineina’s name, Litte knew she had messed up.
Could it be that Sister Celineina actually made a move, and Olivia found out?
The two then fell into a strange silence.
Both had come with a bit of anger, thinking their own family member was wronged. But now, it seemed both were victims.
The anger they wanted to vent could only be suppressed.
“Could it be that the two of them had some conflict, and argued?” After a long while, Litte asked in a low voice.
“That’s what I feel too,” Lianca said seriously. “After all, besides relationship issues, I’ve never seen Sister so dejected.”
“What should we do then?”
“You’re asking me? I don’t know either. I’ve never been in love. How would I know how to handle this kind of situation?”
“Isn’t there a saying that couples fight and make up in bed? How about we just leave them alone for a while? Maybe they’ll be fine tomorrow,” Litte suggested.
“That’s the only thing we can do,” Lianca sighed, then stood up. “I’m going to buy something for Sister to eat for breakfast tomorrow. Let’s call it a day for now.”
“Oh, right, Lianca,” Just as Lianca was about to turn and leave, Litte suddenly called out to her.
“What is it?” Lianca turned her head to look at Litte, her face carrying a hint of confusion.
“It’s just... what I told you before, are you still planning to continue?”
“...I don’t know,” Lianca was silent for a moment, then shook her head.
Judging from her current reaction, her sister undoubtedly cared about Orson very much.
No matter how slow Lianca was, she could see that if Olivia didn’t like Orson, why would she care about Orson to the point of being unable to sleep and eat properly?
And why would she be consumed with jealousy over even a small possibility that some girls appeared around Orson?
It was just that Lianca still didn’t know whether her sister had fallen in love with Orson from the beginning, or had gradually fallen in love with Orson over time.
Lianca hoped it was the latter. After all, if it were the former, the scene where Olivia said she would fulfill the engagement in her place would become false.
Sister would never lie to me, definitely.
This was Lianca’s consistent thought before.
And now, this thought had turned into: Sister wouldn’t lie to me, probably? following Olivia’s actions.
Orson lay on the bed, not knowing how long had passed. He was awakened by the sound of the door being pushed open.
“Litte?” Orson spoke, asking.
“Mm, it’s me,” Litte nodded, then walked into the room and placed a glass of water on the nightstand beside Orson’s bed.
“Orson, I brought you a glass of water. If you’re not feeling well, drink some. You drank too much.”
“You didn’t put anything in it this time, did you?” Orson said in a half-joking tone.
Litte’s face turned red upon hearing this.
“N-no, I didn’t... Believe it or not. Anyway, drink it if you want, or don’t drink it if you don’t want to.” She turned her head away, blushing.
“Litte,” Orson did not pay attention to what Litte said. Instead, he asked her a question.
“Tell me, am I a complete villain?”
“Why are you saying that, Orson?”
“You’ve been around me for so long. You should know many things I’ve done. My methods are not exactly honorable.”
“Framing others, buying off confidantes, torturing for confessions, plotting assassinations... These despicable tricks, I, who usually maintain a tall and upright image in front of others, am even more skilled at playing them than any contemptible villain.”
“Will you, because of this, hate me?”
Hearing this sentence, Litte shook her head.
“No, Orson. You have helped me a lot. Even if everyone else hates you, I will be the last one to support you.”
“I didn’t teach you to lie, Litte,” Orson said this, his eyes suddenly clearing up.
“If one day, I become a demon who harms the world, and if I am not eliminated, perhaps the entire human race will perish. If that happens, will you still choose to help me?”
“...” Litte fell silent.
“Good child. Your silence is right,” Orson saw Litte’s reaction and smiled.
He knew that Litte had already made her decision inwardly, but her conscience made her unwilling to say it out loud.
“Orson, you won’t be like that,” Litte suddenly spoke.
“You won’t be like that. I won’t let you become that kind of existence.”
“Heh, you have quite the nerve, but what can you do now? Let alone me, even Laina has already become a mountain you cannot overcome, hasn’t she?”
“So, Orson,” At this moment, Litte suddenly grabbed Orson’s hand.
“Before I grow to be able to fully protect you, before you have no worries, don’t become like that, okay?”
“I will try my best,” Orson said this, smiling and nodding.
Of course, he was just saying it. Litte did not know what his words meant.
Perhaps Litte would think that by saying this, he meant that he would become blinded by greed in the future.
But in reality, it was far more terrifying than that.
The name Paradis was not something that could be borne so easily. The reason Limusa could call out the title of Son of Paradis upon seeing Orson was likely because the bloodline within Orson was quite powerful and could erupt at any time.
Like a ticking time bomb.
Orson was afraid of the timeline converging, and that he would have to use that power in front of everyone at some point.
But having come so far, he was no longer afraid of death, or rather, not as afraid as he used to be.
He was more afraid of harming more people he cherished because of his existence.
If he were to expose his demonic bloodline now, Lucius, Litte, Olivia, Celineina, Laina, Elsa, and others would all be implicated because of him.
Yet, this knot in his heart could not be confided in anyone else. He could only bury it in his heart like this.
The matter of his identity, and whether his bloodline had a hidden risk of erupting, he had to start investigating as soon as possible.
