Chapter 1322 - Chapter 1322 Chapter 1324 Mining

Chapter 1322: Chapter 1324: Mining Chapter 1322: Chapter 1324: Mining The entrance to the Purple Crystal mine was a mess, with the bodies of Goblin Miners and Abyssal Human Warriors lying haphazardly around, torn to shreds by the Abyssal Magic Vine as if in a fit of rage, presenting a grisly scene.

Most of the Purple Crystal mine had collapsed, which soured Song Jian’s expression. The Abyssal Magic Vine was deep inside the mine; did this mean he had to dig out a new tunnel again?

At the moment, the Stone Golem Gulu was in a deep sleep due to its evolution, and although the Black Dragon had awakened, it was obviously impossible to expect it to dig.

Song Jian looked at his own hands, attempting to start clearing the mine. After simply moving a few stones, he heard a noisy commotion behind him.

Turning around, he saw a group of players from the Abyssal Human Clan. After completing their task, a small portion had left, but most scoured the town, frantically searching for information.

Eventually, these players got wind of the Purple Crystal mine. One by one, they shared the exciting news, which spread quickly, and soon, all the players who stayed behind knew about the Purple Crystal mine in this location.

They couldn’t sit still any longer and began to flood toward the Purple Crystal mine.

Song Jian frowned slightly. These players were formidable, with the highest among them having reached level ninety-four. It seemed many of them had gained a lot from this task. After all, Purple Crystals were the task rewards. As long as they worked hard to inflict damage on the Abyssal Magic Vine, they could complete the task. The more damage they accumulated, the more generous the rewards. Some players even earned tens or dozens of Purple Crystals, leveling up several times in a row.

“Purple Crystal mine, who would have thought that such a remote little town had a Purple Crystal mine, it’s like a pie falling from the sky!”

“No wonder the task rewards were Purple Crystals. So there’s a mine here, haha, my mining skill has reached an expert level; I should be able to mine Purple Crystal ore, right?”

“Hey, be careful, that’s Abyssal Magic Vine territory. Even though it’s severely injured, it’s still a BOSS that we can’t possibly resist!”

“What’s there to fear? They’ve been mining here for so long without issue. We’ll just dig a little in the peripheral areas and not go too deep!”

“Right, we’ll just dig in the peripheral areas. Once I reach level ninety, I’ll stop digging!”

A group of players walked toward the mine in high spirits. Behind them, five hundred Abyssal Warriors, their armor still stained with dark purple sap from the Abyssal Magic Vine, watched them with an icy gaze–as if staring at a group of dead men.

These players dared to mine so openly only because the Abyssal Magic Vine and the three revered elders in town had both been weakened. Little did they know that the Purple Crystal mine was a forbidden delight of the Abyssal Human Clan. Not to mention mining, even knowing about it meant none of them could leave alive.

Now, to the Abyssal Human Clan NPCs in town, these players were nothing more than live bait sent to their deaths. On one hand, because the Goblin Miners had been completely wiped out and they lacked manpower to repair the collapsed mine quickly, but also, they wanted to use these players to test the Abyssal Magic Vine, to see just how severely it was injured and whether it could continue to fight!

If this group of players managed to reopen the mine and the Abyssal Magic Vine did not kill them, what awaited them would be a Thunderstrike from five hundred Abyssal Warriors.

With only just over a hundred Abyssal players remaining, should a battle ensue, they stood no chance against five hundred well-trained Abyssal Warriors.

At this moment, Song Jian had already used his Stealth Skill to hide on the side, watching the group of Abyss Players excitedly removing the rocks that blocked the entrance to the mining cave.

By now, Song Jian had noticed the neatly arranged military formation of the Abyssal Human Clan warriors in the distance. The chilling murderous intent emanating from them caused Song Jian to look at the group of players with a peculiar glint in his eyes.

“With such targeted murderous intent, how can they not feel it? Why are they digging the mining tunnel again like fools?” Song Jian was puzzled, but he quickly understood that these players must have a fast way to leave, similar to using Teleportation Scrolls or something of the sort.

Teleportation Scrolls were not omnipotent; the random Teleportation Scroll would teleport a person to any random place within a hundred-kilometer radius. Sometimes, it might just teleport you from the front of your enemy to their back or, in some cases, even directly into the enemy’s lair, making it unreliable. Only in the early stages of the game, when players were short on money, would they buy one or two to try their luck.

The most commonly used Teleportation Scroll by players was the Town Return Scroll, which locked the teleportation destination. The only drawback to this sort of scroll, besides being expensive, was the range limitation.

The lowest-level Town Return Scroll was only effective within a hundred-kilometer range; beyond that, the Town Return Scroll would be useless. The higher the quality of the Town Return Scroll, the greater the distance it could cover.

As for the Town Return Scrolls of gold quality and above, they were exorbitantly priced, simply out of reach for ordinary players.

This group of Abyss Players couldn’t buy Town Return Scrolls in any city on the Main Plane of the game. The Town Return Scrolls in their inventory were mostly purchased in the Abyssal Hell and were utterly useless on the Main Plane of the game.

“It seems they must have a similar trump card, otherwise they wouldn’t ignore the warriors behind them!” Song Jian thought to himself.

The most likely possibility now was that previous task; upon completion, they must have had one free chance to return to their previous location since they were all temporarily conscripted players, each located at different spots.

After half a day’s time, over a hundred players finally succeeded in digging through the collapsed entrance, revealing the deep mining tunnel inside. The rock walls inside the Purple Crystal mine were exceptionally tough. If it weren’t for the Goblin named Gulu, Song Jian might never have been able to dig a new passage out.

At this moment, the walls of the mining tunnel were cracked all over, with numerous rocks scattered inside, making it appear as if it was about to collapse at any moment. The floor of the tunnel was also littered with the bodies of Goblin Miners, their skeletons completely shattered, all crushed during the pursuit by the Abyssal Magic Vine.

The Abyss Players seemed to be completely blind to the danger. After a cheer, they all rushed towards the various pits inside the mining cave.

“Purple Crystal mines, so many Purple Crystal mines!” exclaimed some players.

“We’re going to be rich, so rich! With so many Purple Crystal mines, maybe we can raise our levels to a hundred, ha-ha!”

“Don’t fight over them, folks. There’s enough Purple Crystal to go around here, and there must be even higher-quality Purple Crystal deeper in!”

From within the mining cave came the frantic laughter and shouts of the Abyss Players. However, when they started to dig, they suddenly discovered that the rock walls of the mining cave seemed much harder than they had imagined.
