Chapter 1041 - Chapter 1041 Chapter 1043 Kings Scepter_1
Chapter 1041: Chapter 1043: King’s Scepter_1 Chapter 1041: Chapter 1043: King’s Scepter_1 The Bloody Baron’s Blood Sea Hell skill was extremely powerful, not only did it have a wide range, but it also inflicted the same damage to every person within the blood sea.
In other words, whether it was one person or a hundred, a thousand, being in the blood sea meant being constantly subjected to damage. Once the blood sea became too overwhelming, everyone would be directly devoured and killed by it.
This move was very potent but could be easily countered by forces that were directly opposed to it, like holy light, flames, and thunder which possessed attributes that could break through evil and cleanse.
Song Jian’s Karmic Fire Red Lotus Sword Formation possessed the strongest cleansing ability in this world. The Blood Sea Hell might seem boundless, but in reality, it was closely linked to the Bloody Baron’s own strength. As long as the power of the skill released by Song Jian could suppress that of the Bloody Baron himself, the Blood Sea Hell would be cleansed in a short period.
The Bloody Baron did not even reach the second tier before he was cleansed by the Karmic Fire Red Lotus Sword Formation. This was partly because of the energy attribute suppression, and partly because of the Bloody Baron’s self-destructive maintenance of the Blood Sea Hell.
With the loss of its target, the Karmic Fire Red Lotus Sword Formation slowly dissipated. Song Jian’s vision shattered before him, plunging him into darkness. When he regained his sight, he found himself still standing within the corridor, as if he had never left.
“The previous Blood Sea Hell must have been an illusion. However, if I had truly died in there, I’m afraid it would have been just like what the Bloody Baron said, where even the soul would sink into the blood sea…” Song Jian thought silently to himself as he looked towards where the Bloody Baron had stood. On the ground, there were five or six items scattered, one of which emitted a purple-red glow indicative of an epic quality.
This was a pair of gauntlets, heavy in hand, seemingly part of a plate armor set.
“The Bloody Baron was clearly a dexterous fighter and yet he dropped a piece of plate armor gauntlets…” Song Jian thought somewhat gloomily.
Having obtained an epic level equipment after much difficulty, it wasn’t even suitable for his own use. Shaking his head, Song Jian glanced at the properties of the gauntlets and tossed them into his inventory.
“Bloody Roar Gauntlets: Plate gauntlets, Epic level, Equipment level 58, Equipment effects: Physical Defense +128, Resistance +179, Strength +15, Constitution +10, Attack speed increased by 15%, Special effect 1: Siphon (Passive), inflicts damage on the target, drawing 10% of the damage value to convert into Vitality Points to replenish own health. If health is full, it forms a Bloody Shield, which can fend off damage below 1,500 points, continuously decaying within ten seconds; Special effect 2: Phantom (Passive), inflicting damage on the target has a certain chance to summon a Blood Clan phantom to assist in attack, the Blood Clan phantom cannot be damaged, exists for thirty seconds, this effect can only occur once within five minutes; Special effect 3: Bloody Blossom (Active), consumes 30% Vitality Points to increase attack speed by 100%, attack power by 50%, lasts for 3 seconds, after the effect disappears, the consumed Vitality Points will slowly recover over 30 seconds; Equipment requirement: Level 50; Whether it can be taken out of the game: No.”
The properties of the item were average, but the three special effects were impressive, obviously, equipment for a berserker. Two passive skills, one active skill, but the timing of the last active skill had to be handled carefully, otherwise it could not only fail to harm the enemy but could also damage oneself.
This equipment required level 50 to be worn, and now apart from throwing it into the guild’s warehouse to be displayed as an exhibit, it probably couldn’t be sold.
Song Jian placed the gauntlets into his inventory and continued towards the end of the corridor.
At the end of the corridor, there was a door. When Song Jian placed his hand on the door, he received a system prompt.
System: This door seems to be locked, you need to find the key to enter! The key to this door is hidden somewhere in the castle, or in the possession of a guardian!
“Does this mean I have to search elsewhere?” Song Jian was startled, but quickly he took out the Key of Oblivion and inserted it into the keyhole.
In Song Jian’s eyes, the Key of Oblivion was like a master key that could open any lock.
A moment later, he was notified that it would take thirteen minutes and fifty-four seconds to open the door, so he patiently waited.
Ten minutes later, a soft click issued from within the door, and Song Jian took out the Key of Oblivion, gently pushing open the door.
Behind the door was a spacious hall; to the left, a fireplace, and to the right, a long table covered with burning candles.
Direcly opposite the door was a floor-to-ceiling window that took up the entire wall, with the curtains drawn open, allowing the outside sunlight to brightly illuminate the entire hall.
In front of the floor-to-ceiling window was placed a bronze coffin, and upon seeing it, Song Jian let out a sigh of relief. He had finally found the bronze coffin required for the task.
This fortress was far too dangerous; just within this castle alone, he had already encountered two sovereign-tier bosses. It was possible that even more sovereign-tier bosses lay hidden within, and even for someone with Song Jian’s strength, exploring the entire castle seemed somewhat forced.
Song Jian quickly walked up to the bronze coffin and looked inside. The coffin was open and not covered by a lid; he could clearly see a middle-aged man dressed in a suit inside, one hand clutching a scepter, the other a golden scroll, his face full of vicissitude, lying there with his eyes tightly shut.
This man’s face and body bore no signs of decay, and did not look like the centuries-dead individual Duan Jian had described. Instead, he seemed like someone who was merely sleeping within the bronze coffin.
With a vigilant expression, Song Jian prepared for the possibility that the other might wake up and battle him at any moment, and reached cautiously for the scroll in his hand.
This was the task item required by Sword Immortal Duan Jian; returning with this scroll would mean the completion of the task.
When Song Jian’s right hand gripped the golden scroll, the king’s corpse showed no sign of movement, and he breathed a sigh of relief, gently pulling the scroll from the man’s grasp.
As Song Jian was about to open the golden scroll to check its contents, he was thwarted by a system prompt: “Task item, cannot be viewed.”
Song Jian curled his lip in disappointment and put the golden scroll into his inventory. Just as he was about to turn and leave, another task, the Path of the Sword Immortal, suddenly issued a prompt:
[Please obtain the king’s scepter and proceed to Scorching Gorge to seek out the forging master Belen, to acquire information regarding the Sword Immortal’s suit!]
“The king’s scepter?” Song Jian’s gaze once again fell upon the right hand of the man inside the bronze coffin.
It was a scepter barely over a foot in length, made entirely of metal and inlaid with many precious gemstones, twinkling brilliantly, appearing more like an ornamental piece that signified status rather than a weapon.
Song Jian reached for the scepter, attempting to draw it from the man’s grasp, but suddenly felt a tight grip; the scepter was firmly clasped by the other. Song Jian looked towards the monarch within the bronze coffin and to his shock, found that the other’s eyes were open.
“Greedy humans, do you covet the power of the Valen Empire?” The man in the bronze coffin slowly sat up, and a formidable presence began to emanate from him, causing a look of horror to appear on Song Jian’s face.
“You, you’re still alive?” Song Jian exclaimed in surprise.
