I Have a Date with a Thousand-year-old Female Corpse
Chapter 55 Appearance of a Zombie_1

Chapter 55: Chapter 55 Appearance of a Zombie_1

You stretched out your hand towards the top floor of the teaching building, pointing to the room resembling a stepped multimedia classroom and said, "There, all the children’s resentful Qi is sealed. We must clear it out without letting a single bit escape."

"Resentful Qi? Isn’t that sort of thing intangible? Besides, we’re not Taoists, so how do we deal with it?"

Listening to Xiao Feng, Yang Kai tentatively suggested, "Why don’t we go back first and invite some professional ghost hunters tomorrow?"

Seeing everyone’s gaze turn to himself, Yang Kai shrank back, "Pretend I didn’t say that."

"Let’s go up first to scout the terrain and decide what to do afterward."

Everyone nodded and turned to follow you upstairs.

"Clatter, clatter..."

Although somewhat accustomed to the eerie atmosphere here, everyone, except for you, was here for the first time and couldn’t help feeling nervous, hence they stuck closely to each other, afraid to fall behind.

As you walked, you shared all the information you knew with those around you. After listening, Wei Shuxian pondered and said, "According to you, that teacher truly cared for his students, but didn’t you say someone died violently because they wanted to forcibly demolish the school? Could he have done it?"

Wu Qiyi spoke indifferently, "That person wouldn’t do such a thing, even if it were to punish those people, they wouldn’t take their lives, at most it would just be a warning or intimidation."

"So here comes the problem," Wei Shuxian’s words caused everyone’s hearts to sink, "who is the one committing evil acts, endangering lives?"

Jin Qi said in a low voice, "Could there be something else here?"

"Whoosh!"

As you reached the turn on the fifth floor, a shadow flashed by swiftly!

"Who’s there!" Zong Wangyue shouted in surprise.

At this point, you all hoped it was just a human figure that passed because, in such a place, humans were obviously much easier to deal with than those things.

But obviously, human speed couldn’t reach that level.

"Everyone, be careful!"

You stopped abruptly, and the team formation behind you immediately tightened, with the five girls protected by seven boys, all of you backing each other up.

"Cluck, cluck cluck, cluck cluck cluck cluck cluck..."

A strange sound came from the dark corridor in front of you.

The corridor on the fifth floor was completely different from the four floors below; walls flanked both sides of the hallway, and it lacked windows, rendering it utterly dark and spooky as no moonlight could penetrate from outside.

"Old Shu, what do we do now?" Yang Kai asked.

"Zongzi, there should be a Wolf’s eye flashlight in my backpack, turn it on and shine it around."

Zongzi was Zong Wangyue’s nickname, which you had just given him, intended to lighten the mood in the current situation.

Earlier, while climbing over the wall, you had passed your backpack to Zong Wangyue, with the Jade already carefully hidden in your bosom.

"Boss, couldn’t you give me a nicer nickname?"

Zong Wangyue said somewhat speechlessly, then opened the backpack and took out a Wolf’s eye flashlight as thick as a wrist.

"Turn it on and take a look."

Blazing light shot out from the Wolf’s eye flashlight, illuminating the pitch-dark corridor.

However, you saw nothing else; the hallway was empty except for mottled walls.

After shining the light in front and behind him and finding nothing, Zong Wangyue was about to speak when the strange sound came again!

"Cluck cluck cluck..."

Above!

Zong Wangyue swiftly shined the light overhead, and to your horror, you discovered a figure crouching on the ceiling!

Blinded by the bright light, the beast-like creature let out a roar and lunged at Wu Qiyi!

"Be careful!"

Just as the monster was about to hit Wu Qiyi, you leaped up, grabbed the monster’s incoming arm, and with a twist, slammed it hard against the wall!

Remarkably agile, the creature flipped its body at such close range, clinging to the wall with its limbs and bouncing back towards you!

Meanwhile, you swung a fierce punch at its face without hesitation!

"Bang!"

A direct hit!

The creature spun halfway through the air from the impact and crashed to the ground with a thud.

"Roar!"

The creature quickly hopped back up, hunkering down on all fours with its head slightly raised and green light shining from its eyes.

"What the hell is this thing?" Yang, now holding the Wolf’s eye flashlight he took from Zong Wangyue, was reacting quickly, capturing the creature’s movements well.

Under the intense light, you finally saw its face clearly.

In appearance, it should have been human, at least a human body, but clearly lacking human behavior, it looked more like a ravenous beast at that moment!

"I’ll take it on!"

The burly Liao Yong stepped beside you, his fists cracking with a "crack and pop" sound.

"Black Bull, find a way to pin him to the ground and control him. I’ll handle the rest."

Liao Yong nodded his head, facing a monster that seemed immune to attack, and, despite not having fought for a long time, he appeared somewhat excited.

With a swing of his arm, Liao Yong slowly stepped forward with his right foot. Just as the tip of his right foot touched the ground, there was a loud "bang!" He charged at the monster like a fully powered off-road vehicle roaring into action!

The monster was quick to react too, and as Liao Yong lunged forward, it jumped twice in succession, sticking once again to the ceiling above.

It thought Liao Yong would stop after that, but, contrary to expectation, Liao Yong not only did not halt but sped up!

When he was two or three meters away from the monster, Liao Yong’s seemingly bulky and heavy body leapt up!

You saw Liao Yong’s left foot step on the edge of a light switch on the wall, then spring up from it, reaching out both hands towards the monster before he fell, grabbing its shoulders and slamming it violently to the floor!

"Thump!"

A loud crash!

You had been focusing on Liao Yong’s actions, and as he extended his hands toward the monster, you had already dashed out from the group, charging towards Liao Yong.

No sooner had Liao Yong smashed the monster to the ground than your hand holding the Talisman Paper arrived!

As soon as the Talisman Paper was affixed to the monster’s forehead, it was immediately immobilized, its body frozen stiff in place.

"Phew, that was close!"

Seeing the monster subdued, you finally took a deep breath of relief.

Xiao Feng and the others were preparing to come over when you quickly gestured for them to stop: "Don’t come over yet!"

"Old Shu, what’s wrong? Did you guys get hurt somewhere?"

Yang Kai asked anxiously, the strong light now shining on you and Liao Yong.

"Black Bull and I are fine; it’s just that this guy is a bit tough."

Liao Yong stood up, while you squatted down, continuously observing the monster that you had immobilized.

"What tough guy?"

You did not answer, and after careful observation, you stood up, your face stern, and said two words that everyone was very familiar with: "Zombie."

"Zombie!?"

Everyone exclaimed in shock.

Xiao Feng even observed carefully from a short distance: "This thing is a zombie? Doesn’t look like it, right? Aren’t the zombies in TV shows always hopping around?"

You couldn’t help but roll your eyes at Xiao Feng: "The zombies on TV even fall in love, do you want to start a romance for the ages with it?"

Xiao Feng immediately shook his head like a rattle drum.

However, considering that these club members might very likely encounter zombies in the future, you took the chance to give them a quick lesson.

In China, there are a total of six levels of zombies, the first of which is called the White-haired Corpse, also known as "White Zombie." Seven days after a person dies, if the corpse is placed by a corpse keeper in a place for raising corpses, after one month, the body will begin to grow fluffy white hair all over. This type of zombie moves slowly and is relatively easy to deal with. Their weakness is their extreme fear of sunlight.

Besides that, they are also afraid of fire and water, as well as domestic animals, fearing the crowing roosters, even more the ferocious black dogs, and of course, people with strong Yang energy; so normal people can’t see this kind of White Zombie.

The second type is the Black-haired Corpse, also known as "Black Zombie."

The White Zombies appear at night, and if they regularly feed on the essence of cattle and sheep, they will shed their white hair and grow several inches of black hair instead.

This type of Black Zombie still fears sunlight and fire intensely, and though their movements are not quick, they no longer fear roosters or black dogs.

However, Black Zombies still actively avoid people with strong Yang energy, after all, upon seeing them, people either flee in terror or gather a crowd to attack them.

Black Zombies tend to appear when people are asleep, using this time to stealthily suck human blood.

The third type is known as "Jumping Corpse," or "Jumping Zombie."

After decades of absorbing Yin energy and sucking blood, a Black Zombie will shed its black hair and begin to primarily move by jumping.

This type of jumping is not the step by step kind seen in zombie films; sometimes they can even jump over two or three-meter-high walls, and they also have movements similar to humans.

Jumping Zombies still fear sunlight, as sunlight represents the ultimate Yang energy that can restrain all Yin and evil entities.

Jumping Zombies no longer fear people and no longer dread any domestic animals. Usually, even a barking dog goes silent upon encountering a Jumping Zombie, either fleeing in terror or curling up and shivering in fear, but cats will hiss coldly at the sight of a Zombie.

Nevertheless, cats are considered Yin and evil creatures and lack the ability to warn their owners, only hissing coldly a few times; so if you hear a cat hissing coldly at night, all those who are weak and ill must be careful!

The fourth type is "Fei Zheng," also known as "Flying Corpse."

For a Jumping Zombie to become a Fei Zheng, the conditions are extremely demanding.

First, the Jumping Zombie must find a secluded and dark place where people rarely pass by and sunlight absolutely cannot reach; most importantly, it must be a place where Yin gathers.

The so-called place where Yin gathers typically faces east or northwest and has a damp, cold geographical location with a harsh surrounding environment.

Such places exist everywhere. If there is a pond where children frequently drown or if a certain section of road often sees accidents resulting in fatalities, then that place is where Yin gathers, though it may also be a site where spirits congregate; these factors can’t be generalized.

Once a Jumping Zombie grows to a certain stage, it will bury itself in a place where Yin gathers, at the "eye of the land," and begin to absorb the essence of the gloom and moonlight, slowly transforming into a Fei Zheng. However, this process is exceedingly slow, taking at least a hundred years, and in some cases, several centuries or even a millennium.

Fei Zhengs are a highly terrifying presence; they no longer hop but walk like normal people, with quick movements. They no longer passively suck human essence and blood but selectively choose those with Yin attributes. The so-called Yin attributes refer to people born in the Yin year, Yin month, Yin day, and Yin hour; anyone meeting two or more of these conditions becomes a target for Fei Zheng.

The fifth type can no longer be called corpses. They are infinitely close to "Demons," known as "Monsters"!
