Chapter 217: Chapter 217: Take Care, No Need to See You Out_1
At that moment, three individuals clad in black clothing strode confidently into the room.
Garbed in black outfits and trousers, and wearing long black leather overcoats with dark sunglasses, they walked in with a gust of wind, swaggering forward.
"Hey, deputy leader, who the hell are these three? They look like they’ve come straight out of The Hacker Empire."
A special police officer asked Ding Xiaofeng, who was standing beside him.
"Shh, keep it down. They’re from the Chu Sect, and judging by their attire, they’re probably from the Yenjing Headquarters."
The trio walked straight up to you and Zhao’er. The leader, tilting his head slightly back, commanded in a domineering tone, "We’re taking this zombie’s body!"
Looking at the three individuals before you, you laughed, your eyes narrowing slightly.
"Tell me, have you been standing outside for a long time? Are your legs sore?"
"Cut the crap, move aside!"
Another man barked sharply and stepped forward, reaching out to grab you.
Without even raising her eyes, Zhao’er swatted away the man, who looked both cool and formidable in his black attire, as if she were merely flicking away a fly.
"Bang!"
The man in black crashed against the wall on the perimeter of the Taoist temple, creating a large hole!
"Li Muyun! How dare you lay a hand on us!?"
"Who are you?" Your face still wore a smile,
"As fellow disciples of the Chu Sect, don’t you know that there’s a distinction between the Outer and Inner Sects?" The man in black still carried an air of superiority, trying to suppress you with his demeanor.
"Who are you?" Your smile remained unchanged.
If at first these so-called Inner disciples of the Chu Sect didn’t understand the meaning behind your smile, they could now seem to hear a different emotion in your chilling tone.
"I... We are disciples of the Chu Sect’s Inner Sect, affiliated with the Yenjing Chu Sect Headquarters..."
"Is that so? So you are Inner disciples of the Chu Sect from Yenjing. It seems that this is the kind of presence an Inner disciple of the Chu Sect holds."
"What do you mean by that?" Another person, a woman with a prominent figure, spoke coldly, "Regardless of the Inner or Outer Sect, just in terms of rank, we’re much higher than you. In normal times, even if you saw us, you would have to pay your respects!"
"I don’t care about any of that crap. I just want to understand one thing: what were you three cowards doing outside when this thing was running wild? Earlier, when we were locked in a fierce battle with the Soul Refining Sect in the corridor, what were you three idiots doing!?"
Your voice grew louder still, so much that the armed police surrounding the area could hear clearly: "This is the glorious image of the Chu Sect?"
"Li Muyun, don’t forget, you are also a person of the Chu Sect!" The woman in black pointed at you angrily.
However, you just shrugged your shoulders nonchalantly and said with a smirk, "I’m not anymore, okay? What Chu Sect? It’s all just a pile of dog shit!"
Having said that, you turned to Zhao’er and remarked, "Zhao’er, leave it to you."
Zhao’er nodded slightly, and as you watched, she stretched out her delicate hand and pointed at the Thousand-Year-Old Flying Corpse’s shell in the air. The shell of the corpse began to float slowly. When it hovered a few meters above the ground, Zhao’er drew a circle in mid-air with her finger. Subsequently, a soft blue flame began to appear around the body of the Thousand-Year-Old Flying Corpse.
The soft blue flames, upon their manifestation, took only three breaths to burn the corpse—which even high-explosive cannon shells couldn’t damage—into ashes!
"Li Muyun, you... just wait, the Young Marshall won’t let you get away with this!" The lead person in black yelled furiously, grabbed the man who had just climbed out of the rubble, and turned to leave angrily.
"Farewell, we won’t see you out."
You wrapped an arm around Zhao’er’s waist and said to her with a cheeky grin, "Zhao’er, you did a spectacular job. Come here, give me a kiss."
Puckering up, you leaned in, but Zhao’er slightly turned her head, dodging the kiss.
What?
Getting shy now, are we?
"Oh well, there are too many people around, let’s save our kiss for when we get back."
Under everyone’s gaze, you shamelessly laughed.
"Mu Yun, are you sure you want to leave the Chu Sect?" Lu Tiejun approached with a look of concern on his face.
"Initially, I joined the Chu Sect to get some information. Although I haven’t achieved my goal yet, I’m sure there are other ways. There’s no need for me to be at someone else’s beck and call." You smiled at Lu Tiejun, "Both my grandfather and my father were military men, but I was born a bit rebellious and can’t stand being controlled by others."
"But, these people are from Yenjing after all, and plus, that person just mentioned the Young Marshall. This could get troublesome."
"Who is the Young Marshall?" Your eyes narrowed slightly upon hearing that title.
Scratching his head with a troubled look, Lu Tiejun said, "I can’t really explain, but all you need to know is he’s someone you absolutely shouldn’t mess with."
You shrugged, offering no reply.
"Help, someone please help us!"
A girl’s voice came from the cracks in the Earth.
Seeing that no one around you reacted, you asked Lu Tiejun, "Captain Lu, did you hear that girl calling for help?"
"No, not at all." Lu Tiejun shook his head and turned to ask the person next to him, "Little Lin, did you hear anything?"
Everyone shook their heads.
You turned and crouched down to the crack in the ground, placing your ear close to listen, and indeed, there were voices coming from inside.
After closing your eyes, you scanned the area with your mind’s eye and found a container like a water vat, half-buried under rubble in a corner of the main chamber; this container was what the Onmyoji had been holding earlier, used for containing souls.
"Captain Lu, I need a favor."
Seeing the seriousness on your face, Lu Tiejun readily nodded and said, "Speak!"
"The main chamber wasn’t completely destroyed. I need you to send two people down to find something for me."
"What is it?"
"A container, like a water vat."
Lu Tiejun nodded, "Okay."
Lu Tiejun immediately dispatched a squad with Ding Xiaofeng as the leader and eight special police officers diving into the crevasses. About half an hour or so later, the officers climbed back up safe and sound.
Cradling a silk-wrapped container, Ding Xiaofeng walked up to you with a peculiar look on his face, saying, "It’s so strange. I don’t know why, but when I touched this thing, I felt a shudder all over my body, as if something terrifying is hidden inside."
Taking the container from Ding Xiaofeng’s hands, you smiled and said, "The thing inside isn’t terrifying; the only terrifying thing is the human heart."
Meanwhile, another helicopter flew towards us from the sky, but this one was a civilian chopper, not a military one.
Looking up slightly, Zhao’er softly said to you, "Youyou is here."
