Chapter 1030: Chapter 1030: Senior Brother and Junior Sister
As you walked along, you suddenly heard a man’s voice from above. Glancing up, you saw two streaks of light flying slowly overhead. For a moment, you even doubted your eyes, as it seemed you had spotted a familiar figure.
It was not hard to tell from the two Cultivators flying by that they also seemed to be in search of some kind of Treasure. Given that this Treasure could attract so many people, it surely wasn’t ordinary, and with your bold yet meticulous nature, you crouched and slowly followed the two. Soon after, you spotted an old acquaintance, none other than the Third Prince of the Qin Kingdom, whom you had previously disciplined.
With the appearance of the Third Prince of the Qin Kingdom, your interest also greatly increased.
As night fell, the peril within the dense forest rose, and you found yourself in front of a cave. Many people stood outside the cavern, either standing or sitting with defeated expressions, and among them, many were injured. Judging by their postures, they were clearly not experts. At the entrance of the cave, you saw several corpses as well.
You didn’t spot the Third Prince of the Qin Kingdom; presumably, he had already led people into the cave. After some thought, you stepped out from the bushes. Your appearance immediately drew the alert gaze of everyone present, and given your current reputation, some recognized you right away.
You dispensed with idle talk and headed straight for the cave entrance.
"Hold on a moment, friend," said a Scholar-looking figure as he stood up.
"What do you want? Or are you trying to block my way?" you asked, with a less-then-friendly expression and ready to start a fight.
"No, no, you misunderstand. I simply wanted to offer you some advice. The ones who entered the cave just now are tough to deal with; many are Cultivators, and we mere mortals cannot hope to match them. That is why I dared to speak," he explained.
Clearly, he was trying to get on your good side.
"Tch, what about Cultivators? They’re just eggs after all. Let’s see if they’ll still act tough after I crush their eggs," you said and brushed past him, heading straight into the cave. Seeing you enter the cave, the Scholar shook his head with a sigh, but before he could shake it a few more times, you unexpectedly walked back out.
Approaching the Scholar, you asked, "Hey, do you know what kind of Treasure is in this cave?"
"Do you not know, my friend?"
"Nonsense, if I knew, why would I bother asking you?"
"Of course, of course. Have you heard of the name Immortal Sword Li Bai?" The Scholar, seeing your domineering attitude, dared not act presumptuously and significantly lowered his tone.
Crack!
Li Bai is real?
But the problem is Li Bai is from the time of Tang Xuanzong; according to historical trajectory, that boy isn’t even born yet!
"Less nonsense, focus on the main point. I don’t have time for your drivel," you said, getting heated from dealing with such a long-winded person.
"Ahem, everyone is here precisely for the Treasure left in the Mortal World by Immortal Sword Li Bai."
"Oh, I see."
After hearing this, you entered the cave without looking back. The cave was not very deep, and before long, you came upon a very spacious area.
In front of you was a deep blue small lake, and above the lake floated a bamboo house. Right then, many factions’ members were positioned at different spots around the lake, all focusing their attention on the bamboo house and the people next to it.
While observing everyone, you naturally noticed the Third Prince of the Qin Kingdom, who indeed had a Taoist-looking person by his side.
At the moment, he was holding a Treasured Sword that glowed with green light, and his clothing was somewhat in tatters—evidently, he had gone through a fierce battle. He was vigilantly watching his surroundings—huh, wasn’t that Ma Linghan, the wife you were never formally married to, not far from the Taoist?
Ma Linghan was holding a Treasured Sword in her right hand that was emanating a green mist, while her left hand hovered closely in front of a Handsome Man beside her. A milky white light was present between their hands, and although they weren’t touching, the intimate sensation it gave off made you feel like you were on fire.
Both of them held Treasured Swords, one blue and one green, echoing each other in the distance. The reason for your rage was simple; this woman appeared so arrogant in the past, as if no man in the world was worthy of her, but now, wasn’t she stuck to a Little White Face from the United Body Realm?
Anyone seeing them now would think them a couple, evident from their intimate interactions.
"Sister, be careful, this old Taoist is not easy to deal with. Our newly learned Dual Cultivation Method is not yet powerful, less than ten percent effective," the young man said to Ma Linghan, his eyes tender, filled with warm and affectionate colors.
"Dual Cultivation Method?" If your heart was somewhat annoyed at first, now it was filled with rage and even flames of anger.
Dammit, that Ma woman is already practicing Dual Cultivation with Little White Face!
But you weren’t a fool. The two groups present were the strongest, and as long as they both suffered losses in their fight, others might have a chance. Otherwise, it was just waiting to die.
"Prince, you and the others step back, and let me finish off these two ignorant fools!" bellowed the Taoist as he formed a Sword technique with his hand, the Treasured Sword in his grip bursting with intense light. He threw it above Ma Linghan and the young man, and the Treasured Sword emitted a clear ring as it shot numerous smaller Light Swords down from within.
"Sister, Heavenly Gang Sword Formation!" the young man shouted loudly. In perfect unison, they both threw their Longswords into the air, and immediately the two Treasured Swords began revolving above their heads, forming a sword shield due to their high-speed rotation, keeping the smaller Light Swords at bay.
"Giant Sword!" The Treasured Sword suddenly enlarged, plunging straight at Ma Linghan and the young man!
"Boom!" The Giant Sword split the two, and seizing the moment, the Taoist hurled a Spirit Talisman towards the young man. No sooner had it left the Taoist’s palm than it turned into a roaring Thunder Dragon, charging straight at the young man.
"Be careful!"
Ma Linghan, concerned for the young man’s safety, quickly circumnavigated the Giant Sword and their hands hovered close once more, only this time, dazzling white light radiated from between their palms. They attacked simultaneously, their Treasured Swords intertwined rapidly, uniting into one, swiftly severing the Thunder Dragon and vanishing it into nothingness. Without losing momentum, their Treasured Sword continued, thrusting straight at the Taoist’s forehead.
"Thud!"
The Taoist yelled out, quickly throwing several Spirit Talismans that detonated in a split second. Following the loud bang, a strange half-transparent Ghost god in a golden body appeared before everyone. The half-transparent Ghost god effortlessly brushed aside Ma Linghan and the young man’s Treasured Swords and charged towards them with a palm strike. Caught off guard, the two of them were struck and fell, blood spurting out as they hit the ground.
