Chapter 62: Chapter 057 Can I Count Killing Zombies as an Ability?_3
Thick strands of saliva appeared in its mouth, accompanied by bursts of growling.
"Even if you’ve turned into a zombie, what you did before was really not good, so I still have to send you over."
Lin Fan pulled the rope, with the zombified Zuo Qiang chasing after him. He ran forward, guiding the direction towards the police station.
Passing by the cake shop.
Su Xiaoxiao covered her mouth with both hands.
She dared not make a sound, her eyes wide as a cow’s.
The only thought in her mind was that he was truly frightening, and she absolutely must not be caught.
The police station.
After Lin Fan had delivered him there, he tightly bound him up and left a note telling the police uncle what had happened.
Looking at the sky, his mood was still okay.
He hadn’t lost faith in the apocalypse, always thinking that as long as he worked hard, he could surely restore Huang City to its former glory.
Standing at the door, he pondered.
"So many people are suffering. Should I do something about it?"
He thought as he walked.
Soon he returned to the community, and as soon as he entered, he saw two old men talking. For them, life was really satisfactory nowadays, although occasionally they thought about various situations, like when the apocalypse would finally end.
"Lin Fan, you’ve bought quite a lot of stuff back, haven’t you?" Old Man Wang greeted him.
Lin Fan said, "Yes, some frozen food. I’ll take it up now and come down later."
After delivering the things to his home.
He moved out chairs from the security room.
"Old gentlemen, on my way back, I encountered a murder case, and just happened to see it. I stopped the criminal, who would have thought that the criminal would turn into a zombie? I thought it over and finally decided to take him to the police station," Lin Fan narrated the recent events.
The two old men had already grown accustomed to it.
If it had been at the beginning.
They would have thought.
Does Lin Fan have a problem with his brain?
But now, they could understand; this represented a level of thought. Those who understood naturally understood, and those who didn’t, didn’t.
"Very good, thumbs up," Old Man Wang said, raising his thumb.
Old Man Zhou followed suit, raising his thumb as well.
Don’t ask; ’good’ is the answer.
"I’ve found that many survivors in Huang City are having a tough time," Lin Fan remarked.
Old Man Wang said, "Lin Fan, you’re right. With the apocalypse upon us, dangers are all around, but hope always exists. However, hope often needs someone to discover, to lead, and to magnify that little bit, so others can see it, or even touch it a little."
Lin Fan looked at the old man, feeling his words were profound.
Old Man Wang continued, "There’s an old saying, ’With great power, comes great responsibility.’ Humans are social, relatively complex creatures. In anything we do, we mustn’t only consider ourselves but think of others as well."
"If we don’t take up our responsibilities, then one day, human society, too, will vanish."
"Put simply, think of modern history. When invaders arrived, everyone had one thought: expel the invaders, protect our homes. That was everyone’s thought, yet the power of one person is weak, hardly enough to accomplish this alone."
"So then, a leader emerged, who gently nudged, combining everyone’s power and beliefs, thus becoming stronger and more formidable."
Old Man Zhou looked at Old Man Wang; he knew what Wang was talking about, and what he meant.
Lin Fan nodded, not fully understanding, "Hmm..."
Old Man Wang laughed, "Lin Fan, can you fix networks?"
"No."
"Can you fix computers?"
"No."
"Can you invent things?"
"No."
"Then do you know what you can do?"
Lin Fan thought for a moment, "Does killing zombies count?"
Old Man Wang laughed, "It counts. Although you may not know many things, the skills you do have are very powerful because others do not possess them. Your ability is unique, so to others, you are the type that can gently nudge, bringing together people’s abilities and beliefs."
"I have such abilities?" Lin Fan wasn’t doubting himself, but felt overwhelmed by Old Man Wang’s high praise.
Old Man Wang proposed, "Let’s do this, I know there’s an agency nearby. You’re thinking of earning more money, why not try working part-time there? Take some flyers and see if there are any survivors willing to live in our community. If there are, not only can we bring those struggling survivors into our big family, but you can also earn a substantial agent fee."
Lin Fan was somewhat tempted by Old Man Wang’s suggestion.
"I think it’s feasible."
