Chapter 372: Chapter 122: Lin Fan Under the Fireworks, Initiating the Hunting Moment (Thanks to the Alliance Hierarch, Spring River Flower Moon Night)_2
"I always feel there’s something odd about this Powerful Zombie in front of me."
Lin Fan furrowed his brow as he sized it up; the aura emanating from this Powerful Zombie was somewhat different, as if it weren’t like the other Powerful Zombies.
"Heh heh..."
The Powerful Zombie roared angrily, hurling the car it had lifted fiercely towards Lin Fan. Facing the crushing weight of such a heavy object, any survivor would find it difficult to withstand.
In contrast, Lin Fan raised his hand and effortlessly caught the car before setting it aside, "It’s not nice to damage other people’s property like that."
"Heh heh"
The Powerful Zombie charged rapidly towards Lin Fan. With each step it took, the ground shook, and the crushing presence of the mountain-like Powerful Zombie was overwhelming. Without professional training and equipment, one could only be crushed by the Powerful Zombie.
"I finally understand what’s different about you—it’s your size. You’re much burlier than the other Powerful Zombies."
Lin Fan put his hands in his pockets and muttered to himself.
As the Powerful Zombie reached him and swung its fist in a flash,
Lin Fan bounced on the spot, his legs whipping and his feet slicing like scythes. With a "pfft" sound, as if one could see the sharp edge, the head of the Powerful Zombie flew up, spinning in the air before rolling on the ground.
[Powerful Zombie Killed]
[Points +6]
Indeed, it was just as he had thought.
The increase in points signified that this Powerful Zombie had received an unimaginable enhancement. The intensification of its strength was terrifying, and he looked slightly solemn.
As zombies continued to evolve and upgrade.
Where would ordinary survivors end up in the future?
Removing the crystal and placing it in his bag, he continued searching for zombies. His goal was to keep clearing zombies while checking on the others to see what changes last night’s thunderstorm had brought to them.
At that moment, far away.
Three survivors were hiding in a van.
Someone cautiously raised their head to observe the situation in the distance. There, a group of zombies staggered around, and amongst them, the sturdier-looking zombies would snarl at others upon collision.
It was as if they were saying, "You bumped into me, back off, damn you."
And the zombies being snarled at, as if sensing some kind of pressure, shrank their heads and wandered off elsewhere.
"Have you noticed that the zombies have changed a bit after last night’s thunderstorm?"
One of the survivors remarked.
The other two exchanged glances.
"What kind of change could there be? They’re still as terrifying as ever."
"Damn it, these zombies are like rabid dogs."
The survivor who had spoken did not continue, just waited silently.
All of a sudden.
A firework soared into the distance, exploding with a "bang" in the sky.
"Heh heh..."
The zombies, hearing the sound, raised their heads and looked at the situation in the distance, howling and rushing toward it rapidly. As the zombies drew closer, the three survivors inside the van felt the rumbling outside and swallowed nervously, appearing somewhat tense.
Even having survived since the outbreak, they were still extremely nervous when facing zombies, a reflection of the oppression between species.
They were cooperating. The person in the distance setting off fireworks to lure the zombies away, while they took the opportunity to collect materials in the vicinity.
This had always been their method of cooperation.
And so they had never failed when collecting supplies.
Among the horde pursuing the sound, one zombie looked a bit different. Its skin was somewhat pale, limbs lanky, head bald and devoid of hair, wearing only underwear, which made it stand out.
It was also attracted by the sound.
Yet, it seemed to have sensed something and looked behind. Its dull eyes roved, spotting the moving van. It opened its mouth and let out an angry roar, its oral cavity devoid of teeth, oozing with viscous fluid.
The zombies that had been running towards the sound of fireworks stopped at the roar of this distinctive zombie, abruptly pausing and turning back to look, ignoring the sound of the fireworks.
"Heh heh..."
"Heh heh..."
Dense roars emanated from the zombies.
All of them charged towards the van.
The three survivors inside the van, thinking of the bounty they might acquire in a while, went pale with shock as the noise approached them, their eyes wide with inexplicable panic. Despite the fireworks still exploding, they couldn’t understand why the zombies were running their way.
"Shit, drive fast, what’s with these zombies?"
"Hurry, run!"
They were in a frantic panic, at a loss for words. They had never failed in their cooperation so many times before.
They could have never anticipated such a turn of events.
The odd zombie, like a general among a vast army, watched the horde chase after the van.
But dissatisfied with the speed of its ’underlings’, it roared fiercely and then, moving like a Speedy Zombie, started pursuing the van.
Its slender figure seemed to stick out oddly among the other zombies.
Soon, it had left the horde behind and was rapidly closing the distance to the van as if it would catch up in no time.
Inside the van.
"Look, there’s a strange zombie behind us—it’s running so fast. Can we drive any faster? At this rate, it will catch up to us."
