Chapter 81: Chapter 74: Accomplishment, Reap the Benefits
Ten minutes later, Gu Shanhai had easily incapacitated two guards. His handiwork was precise; the overflow of vital energy from the healing magic caused the opponents to faint, all their vitals normal. By comparison, it was as if they had passed out from an overload of a Sage’s state.
"I have to say, this exoskeleton mecha is tough as nails. The people inside have lost consciousness, but this thing can still stand up on its own."
After completing his last task, Gu Shanhai realized the spaceship had landed.
"He Lingyun really calculated everything to a tee. No sooner had I eliminated the hidden dangers, we’ve arrived on the ground. And he still wants me to loot... Well, alright, I did end up finding some good stuff."
Gu Shanhai couldn’t say he hadn’t gained anything; he had obtained something pretty good, albeit a mission item.
Yes, it was the electromagnetic shielding device.
"Great, going to open the door... seems like I don’t have to do it myself, looks like the players have broken in."
"Wait, has something weakened these aliens? Otherwise, with the players’ attributes and equipment, how could they possibly counter-kill the aliens?"
Gu Shanhai couldn’t help but think of the machine He Lingyun had built.
As long as they dragged the enemy down to their level, the players could rely on their rich experience to defeat the opposition.
"So take the opportunity to loot now!" Gu Shanhai looked at the repeated alien language announcements that had just appeared in the spaceship, obviously indicating chaos and an invasion scenario.
"The ventilation ducts won’t cut it, I hope He Lingyun’s gear works."
Gu Shanhai started heading toward the armory, according to the map. Although he felt the weaponry from the armory might be useless in other worlds, it was still equipment. Better to take it first and consider studying it in the future.
Just around the corner, he saw a squad of armed forces standing immobilized.
"Can’t move? Interesting. I bet they’ve become tin cans thanks to He Lingyun’s device," Gu Shanhai mused as he took a closer look, and indeed it was the case.
No matter how he provoked them, the machines couldn’t budge, but from within came something resembling cursing.
Although he didn’t understand what they were saying, he was sure of one thing: they were definitely cursing him.
So he couldn’t indulge them, even if they were aliens, they still had to develop the good habit of being civilized and setting new standards. Hence, he decisively administered another dose of healing magic.
In an instant, copious amounts of flesh from within began to burst through the armor, some even spilling out of the exoskeleton mecha and streaming down.
At that moment, all the cursing quieted down.
"Quite effective, hiss, seems even a bit more potent than knockout drug. Knockout drug needs to be injected, whereas my healing magic can double as a magic missile."
Gu Shanhai took a sharp breath. Healing magic indeed had an unsurpassed supporting role.
Whether it was supporting the enemy’s death or mutation, it still counted as support.
As for healing effects, it had some, just not particularly outstanding—none of his healing magic was worse than this.
Swiftly moving forward, he encountered many similar ’tin cans’. Of course, there were unarmed forces too, seeming to evacuate according to the original regulations.
"Losing so badly..."
The situation reminded him of those cringe-worthy America movies, where the high-tech civilization steamrolls the primitive locals, yet end up getting counter-killed by all sorts of incredible local antics, and the so-called high-tech stuff turns out to be as flimsy as paper.
So whenever he encountered aliens, he casually hit them with a healing spell, paralyzing them on the spot.
"Their attributes dropped by at least 80%, no wonder the players could invade. He Lingyun’s technology against aliens is really sophisticated. If it weren’t for the high restrictions, I’d ask him for the data."
He could definitely get it if he wanted, but for Gu Shanhai, it wasn’t worth it.
He Lingyun had the resources to collect resources and afford the luxury of crafting it, unlike Gu Shanhai, who wouldn’t spend a fortune just to create something targeting a specific alien. Even if he could modify it, the underlying technology wasn’t something he could perfect at this stage.
The opposition could create it, thanks to a combination of a surefire ability to score 100% on tests and constant experimentation with foresight. Otherwise, how could it be successful on the first attempt?
Gu Shanhai didn’t have such luxuries.
The armory was quickly reached, and the stationed armed forces had become ’tin cans’. After firing a healing spell to make them faint, he waltzed in boldly.
"Let’s start with a pair of exoskeleton mecha," Gu Shanhai immediately stuffed a set into his personal lab.
Even if it’s highly likely he wouldn’t be able to use it, who knows, maybe one day he would enter a sci-fi world, and it could be modified to his use.
He had checked the item; it needed various authentications, with the most basic being iris, facial, and fingerprint identification, none of which he could match, not to mention the subsequent gene authentication, even harder to top.
What’s even more absurd was the shell authentication, something Gu Shanhai truly couldn’t do.
Even if he removed it from an alien, it wouldn’t work, as it came as a set.
Besides the exoskeleton mecha, there was a lot Gu Shanhai... couldn’t fully recognize.
"Damn it, so which ones are the grenades, and which are ammo..."
Staring blankly, Gu Shanhai continuously stuffed items into his personal lab, regardless of what it was. First, get his hands on it, he can always ask He Lingyun for help with identification later.
